General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

There is a little error here, Hololive opened auditions to all branches in all language like Niji does since last year INCLUDING Holostar then they made another announcement where they specifically called for EN speakers for Holostars, iirc was a little before Noctix debuted, everyone in this thread and even in Niji found it very odd until you get hit with the realization than red britbong guy is beating every holo in revenues

Im going to sound like @Scuttle but i think they saw no one was auditioning for Stars because for males the better deal is Niji

This is what I'm talking about. After reading it again, I'm convinced they are just going to do a male Hololive gen underneath the hololive EN branch rather than having a StarsEN branch. Hopefully any EN boys we get will have at least some JP skills so they can do some nice collabs with the JP boys.

Moona’s performance as the secret dark horse of day 1 performance give me a weird rrat on how Cover can pretty much can just raise the bar of quality and they can just slowly scout talents vs rushing Zerg type when it comes to get new Gen etc.

With Rona restriction slowly getting phase out, I can see summer commiket in Japan with HoloCouncil and HoloX will even bigger and larger (with EN3, and ID3 fangirling with their watch along).

This will further solidify future Cover’s Hololive auditions as golden ticket.

The wild card would be StarsEN become somewhat Kpop or Jpop themselves as male idol in Japan either hit it, miss it or one shot wonder kinda thing. Imagine Cover somehow get the guy who sung “Bury the Light” for their StarEN he would make Gura squeal so hard with his insane vocal.

The problem with Moona is that her own character is holding her back : her persona is supposed to have the stoic unexpressive face syndrome with half open eye so it clashes with her song and moves which I would better see in non vtuber concert.
Super expressive faces like Nene, Subaru or even Suisei don't have this dissonance.

No idea how this got recommended to me but here is a 2 view Winged Hussar talking about Andrew Dobson:

I think he does a decent job explaining the appeal of lolcows to people who may not get it. Also it's nice to see a male Vtuber who isn't a fujo pandering twink. Not sure if I'll be watching more but I figured you guys might be interested. Here is his Twitch:

The announcement that was released only said that "Hololive" is accepting male auditions. This puts my rrat in a 50/50 state of being where they are either: 1. Using Hololive's brand recognition instead of Holostars or Cover in general, but they will still be a seperate branch, or 2. They are actually going to be members of the Hololive branch, and they just aren't going to bother with seperate branding for EN boys.
They used the term "Hololive production" specifically which might be seen as kinda shady because while technically true:

They will almost certainly not benefit much from the hololive branding.

Victor Borba as a VTuber? That'd be something.

Judging by the other holomem reactions out there, Moona really made an impression amongst the Day 1 acts. Not to put down the EN performances, but I think Fubuki captured it really well. Gura, Ame, and Ina's performances were really good, but Moona's instantly grabbed everyone's attention.

I'd pay to see a concert movie of this. It seems like backgrounds like these caused some compression on the streaming/bitrate end so it'd be great to see it
And yes I did watch the pirated stream but I feel morally justified. I tried for a ridiculous length of time to make a card on Privacy.com but I couldn't find my card because my dad keeps hold of it and I couldn't find out how to accept Terms and conditions. (there was no clear button on terms page that I could find) I was missing Gura when I decided to give up and out of sheer desperation turned to piracy stream. I still want to pay and will still talk to dad about this Privacy.com thing to try to give back to Cover, they deserve it.
If it's anything like previous concerts, then IIRC some amount of time after the watch period ends they will announce a Bluray for it.
Probably expensive ($50? $80?), and add shipping even on top of that, but it'll be the highest quality video you can get, and with more/easier ways to pay for it.

Watching the concert right now and finally reaching the part of EN

Gura: For a prototype is very well made except the fact that her tail doesn't move at all unlike Coco and for some reason her hair go out of the hoodie, kudos to the dancer for trying to not jump to much , the anomaly of Hololive really deserved that

Amelia: they should have removed the stethoscope because it look so weird sometimes it bounce all the way to heaven and sometimes it just stay still in very weird moments, also i did not remember she was that tall still i suppose making her sing Pururin and autotuned to hell was the concession they could make for her, remember she is one of the few ENs that doesn't have a original song (Fauna and Sana are the others)

And animating her was probably super ass because she has to much accessories (Hat, necktie, stethoscope, clock, syringes)

Ina: I was already expecting she performing in 3D like her cousin in FGO and yes i was not wrong but what i was not expecting was that animation of her wings folding when she appeared

Screenshot_225.jpg

But because Cover doesn't have the money Sony has, you don't get the tentacles and Ao-chan floating because fuck you simp more, btw i really believe Ina did the choreography by how easy it is to do

Bonus ID

Mona: the face like people said doesn't help her but who cares she went so hard that if JP bros did not knew her by her adventures with Pekora now they know about the most powerful Vtuber of SEA

Now today is the day where the wigger is going to make us proud

This is the second Vtuber to directly reference that hypocrisy blog I run and I don’t know how to feel about that.

Looking at Ina's performance again, from the way she moves I think she (meaning the actress, not the character) may have actually been wearing oversized platform shoes. Can't tell for sure, but if she was that must have made performing in front of people much more difficult.
Its just her being too used to walking around empty cans and bottles in her room, so now thats how she permanently walks.
