People don't want to admit that their wrong so they just make up an excuse like "no that doesn't count it's one of the good ones" or "It doesn't do the stupid Japanese anime stuff so it's fine". I see it all time even with content creators I watch. At that point just stop pussy footing around.

I don't follow the Twitch crowd but I know she is friends with and does interviews with a bunch of the top streamers there like moistcritikal, asmongold, ludwig, hasanabi. The thing is that she is cute irl but probably wouldn't stand out too much on Twitch without the model gimmick.

One of my friends showed me YFU Baby last night as an example of "good rigging". I died a little inside. Besides being a copy/paste of Melody, she's looks like the results when you type 3d hentai into one of those sites.

I was actually coming to post about CodeMiko lol glad you guys are already talking about her. My question is, I saw her latest post about her new model and the comments are filled with all the popular irl streaming girls. Why do you think they’re so open to her but won’t touch vShojo/other Twitch vTubers with a 20ft pole?

The guy who created Melody and YFU Baby is just not creative. I think YFU was hired into the character like how Ethyria was. From what I remember, a lot of his models all look the same. Unfortunately her outfits have been getting progressively sluttier, but sex sell I guess

She's a normie like them, her model isn't very anime and they probably percieve it as more of a "wierd but cool techy thing" more than "PREDATORY, POSTMODERN, SOCIETY-ENDING CULTURAL DEGRADATION FROM WEEBLAND". I don't really consider her a Vtuber tbh, she's more of a regular ethot with a gimmick, you barely see any mentions of her in vtuber circles anyways.

I think part of the "hate" on Vtubers is that streaming has only become mainstream in recent years, because people are starting to finally respect it as an "actual job" instead of what manchildren with free time do. People like xQc, Ninja and Pewdiepie are now part of the public consciousness, and the public knows that they make actual bank. But a part of the people still associate with that they do with being "immature" or "being for children"

Vtubing is kind of an antithesis to that. It reinforces the false idea that streaming/let's plays/internet culture/etc. is designed for children because cartoon characters are plastered all over it.

Nah, the tide started turning already after CD Projekt started discounting it, people bought it and realized that majority of criticism came from the console ports and in many cases it had been pretty overblown (and a large part of that was because people felt jilted). The game is not perfect, should've been delayed and certainly is not worth the hype (which fans created largely on their own, mind you) but it's hardly a broken, unplayable mess people have been touting it as, even when I played it on launch.
The fact that progress is being made helps a lot too.
