Right, its Monday. Let's see if Mariupol managed to hold this week. Even holding it today would be impressive for the Azov and Naval Infantry Regiment

Americans aren't alone in having an abysmal history module, to be fair. My shithole country had three years of mandatory history in the latter half of high school but a lot of it is garbage.
History is always one of the first thing curriculum maker screwed up, no matter the countries and time, because it will always push for the version the curriculum maker wants to push. Usually national-myth things and the like

Hazards of priorities and quantity of material. It's difficult to cover everything in depth that really ought to be covered. So schools tend to focus on given a very broad over view of world history, and go more in depths about their own country's history. Leaving regions of the world that their country didn't interact much with only lightly covered. While covering just a country's own history can mean either sticking to a really strict schedule that might leave some people behind or sacrifice some depth, or running out of time to cover more modern events. That's not even getting into the way the writers of school history books will try to gloss over the more embarrassing or gory details.

So I don't think the amount of time spent on teaching history in schools has changed much in decades. It just tends to be increasingly poorly and narrowly focused.
It also really depends on the teacher as well. Some will do their best to fill in gaps in the textbooks in various ways, while others just don't give a fuck and go straight off the textbook with no effort.

motherfucker - a fuckton of money was pouring into Ukraine for the past 8 years. maybe they wouldn't be as underprepared themselves (and with mass conscription starting on day 2 of the war, there is no doubt that they were too) or as poor as you claim if they hadn't embezzled most of it, because they were literally ranked MORE corrupt than Russia by the west before this shitshow happened. but now they're literally the Finns during WW2 lmao, yeah right.
A fuckton of money. And from where I'm sitting, it hasn't been wasted. In the past eight years, we haven't been idle either. Remember these guys?

Special forces have been training them in the years between the 2014 invasion and now and their primary mission is foreign internal defense. They've been preparing for this fight for eight years and that is why they didn't get smacked in the gob in this invasion: They knew that this day would come and they prepared accordingly. The Russians assumed that they'd be operating in a permissive environment like they were in Luhansk and Donbass and it didn't happen. The Ukrainians have gone into this with the right mindset: That they will lose unless they force the Russians to lose faster. That was exactly the Finnish model. To hold out for aid against a foe that has numerical and technical superiority on every level and the Ukes have been doing that with last generation Russian tech. Are they corrupt? Fuck yes, they're corrupt. Just like every other post-soviet shithole. What the fuck do you expect?

Until then?

You know shit is going Stalingrad when taking half a building is a noteworthy event.
Azovstal isn't just a building, it's a gigantic complex that takes up nearly a quarter of Mariupol's Azov coastline. Pretty soon the Azov Battalion will have to change its name as Russia is about to eject Ukraine from the sea.

Oh I'm not talking about the map, apologies if that's not clear enough, I'm talking about the usual updates they gave. Some are a bit too optimistic, but more turns out to be true, hence why I'm leaning on believing it
Ah, my mistake. You're right that they have been correct regarding certain things, but a lot of those things have been guessed pretty accurately even by the genius analysts in this thread.

They can also fuck with our allies tho, South Korea can get scorched by nork artillery and if Iran even got nukes the balance of power in the middle east switches dramatically. It may even make the Saudi side with China becuase China looks like it's the ones in more control of Iran than the US.
Fyi - Iran is already since 1986 just weeks or months away of having an atomic bomb.
That's 36 years.

Edit - Already in 1997 the neocons put North-Korea, Iran, Iraq and Syria on the list. (NPAC) Later Bush would call them the axis of evil.
The strategy was simple: break up larger regions into smaller ones and then take them out one by one.

I saw this get posted on Telegram, it's a weapons cache the Russians found after taking out an Ukrainian position. Those are fucking muskets in the middle, what the fuck do these ukies think they are going to do with muskets? I suppose they could be collectibles but I prefer to imagine them shooting musket balls at tanks.

Russia's Naval Infantry have seemingly been chomping at the bit for a go at Odesa. At least on paper, they are some of Russia's best equipped troops. I doubt that they could take Odesa, but if they assault the city at the same time that Belarus joins and Mariupol falls and frees up some men, Ukraine might have to make some difficult decisions of which areas should be reinforced.

The Musketeer of Kryvyi Rih has taken out three squads of Soviet Russian Spetsnaz.

I would rather get shot by a modern fire arm than a musket. Do I have to post the "just as the founding fathers wanted" pasta?

That Tommy gun could be traded for a Javelin. It even has the drum magazine.

What in the everloving fuck is that mish mash AK looking thing next to the muskets? It looks like a Browning semi auto shotgun, an AK, and a Wilkinson carbine had a rape baby. Also fucking hell I hate the fact these nigs have PPSHs and Thompsons. How the fuck are these retards poor? Could make a good 10k just selling that shit under the table at the very least.

I think they may be shotguns. Interesting to see the Tommy guns in that cache. I know we gave the soviets some in WW2, but I figured they would have given them out to the Chinese or Koreans after the war.

Ukrainians also cosplay as 1920s gangsters before the war.
