Yeah, I wouldn't grudge anyone hauling ass out of a situation like that unless they got in my way while I was doing the same.

Here's a poor fucker who got chained to his literal and figurative post. I'm sure it did his country lots of good.

Yeah, I saw that shit last week when it was claimed it was a Russian soldier. At this point, I think it's neither and is B-roll from a movie.

I haven't verified the source, but reportedly these are the Russians' kill claims.

It's a fake version of this, the telegram on the upper right seems to be pro-russian.

Self serving how? In what way whatsoever do I personally benefit from anything in this discussion? Do you think we're diplomats for each country? Do you think everyone who criticizes Putin is just Ukrainian?

Apartment bombings of political dissidents and competing politicians is apparently not evidence of corruption anymore.

Putin may not have yes-men in his cabinet but he certainly does have dickriders.
didnt you hear the man? he said Putin isn’t corrupt stupid its not hard Putin isnt corrupt stop surrounding yourself with No Men stupid

You tell me; you're the one in here so angry over it that you're calling people faggots and, generally, acting like you're getting paid by the post.

Do you think we're diplomats for each country?
I don't know what you imagine you are, only that your comments indicate you're not only taking the whole thing personally, but much too seriously.

Do you think everyone who criticizes Putin is just Ukrainian?
No. Also, I'm not sure these questions actually address the relevant issues.

That's actually evidence of being kind of a jerk.

Yes, Putin can be, at times, kind of a jerk. You'll never hear me say he's incapable of being kind of a jerk.

Whether or not that makes him "corrupt" within the western meaning as opposed to the Russian, I don't know. Also, it remains irrelevant to the current unpleasantness, which is what I'm trying to discuss in this thread. Putin didn't invade Ukraine just to be a jerk, to throw his weight around or to grab land - or, at least, that's what an objective look at the available evidence tells me.

Obviously, you're free to have a different view and it would be great if you could discuss why you do free of all this high-powered shit you've been speaking. But I know it's tough when you're so caught up in Sky Marshal-Mania.

Putin may not have yes-men in his cabinet but he certainly does have dickriders.
He doesn't invite me to those meetings, so it's impossible for me to say what he and the rest of the Russian Presidential Cabinet are up to. Only you know why you believe a country's highest officials spend any significant amount of time being "dickriders" as opposed to, you know, running their country.

People tend to forget the results of Winter War this looks to be Winter War II Mud Boogaloo.
Ending like the Winter War is how I see the best case scenario for Ukraine at the moment. Russia gets to declare victory having 'liberated and denazified' Donetsk/Luhansk + a bit of extra land, Ukraine retains its independence with a strengthened national identity due to having stood against an invader.

The irony is that tanks do well in mud and they make tires specifically for the mud to be used by regular vehicles, and the mud is still hurting them.
This isn't any kind of mud. It is wind blown silt. Loess. These fine particles retain moisture around them by surface tension. Not too fine like silty clays that seal the water above them to run off and not too large like sand that drain the water through them. This is what makes it an ideal grain growing region. It takes a very long time to dry out as the soil essentially acts like a sponge.

A bottomless morass of goopy black mud. Special tracks and tires ain't gonna save their ass. Only summer weather.
