I am not surprised by this relative tolerance compared to the LGB as I really don't remember Christian conservatives being bent out of shape about transgender until the Tumblr/Twitter era arrived around 2010. Hell, I don't even remember the term transgender before then, just transsexual. Trannies were always crazy, and Christian conservatives always hated them, but it takes actual exposure to develop real loathing for a subgroup, and most people simply hadn't run into any troons. When I was a child, my parents were shopping at a department store, and we encountered a shortbus full of old men in dresses - Before that incident, any reference to transgenderism in my family was neutral in nature (e.g. "people in wrong bodies") but was accepted only because we didn't have the mental image of a dozen sixty year old transvestites wearing wedding dresses prancing around a Christmas Tree shop.

I'm open to disordered eating having some truth.
