This war has made abundantly clear the Russians not only did not know the enemy they decided to fight, they also did not know their own capabilities for fighting them.
Russia knew full well that this war was not going to be easy. Even with the amount of setbacks they've had they captured more land faster than any nation post WW2. people seem to forget how humilating the 2003 invasion was for the US, troops were begging parents to pull together collections at work to buy fucking personal body armor and troops had to personally purchase armor for Humvees and to ad-hoc weld panels onto them since some of the humvees were sent over without the canvas tarp shit they used to use for roofs.

Then stop waging wars you cannot afford. Every unbacked fiat currency returns to zero, as ours is now.
To be fair, it wasn't just wars, but mostly the various welfare programs that grew exponentially into the Akira monstrosities they are today. Basing the value of the US Dollar behind the United States' ability to wage war was a way more viable option than gold in the long run. Just have your fingers crossed that the US never loses its superpower status because it's going to be one spectacular oof if it happens.

The Russians' original keikaku was most likely to decapitate Ukraine by going directly for Kevin.
Obviously autocorrect strikes again but I love the idea that Russia got into this mess because it's actually Putin's latest blundered assassination's attempt after sending in spies who got caught and had the most unconvincing allabi ever.

Inspiring new recruitment effort for the Reddit Battalion at a local city council meeting. After watching this I put in my two week notice, burned all my possessions, and bought a one-way ticket to Krakow. Slavoj Ukrainies ✊.

Well this is probably the most accurate meme regarding redditors willing to volunteer in the Ukraine.

While I am at it, let me include some memes that were found today on the world wide web.

do you really think that Russia didn't think before they blew their dick all over the Ukraine?
Yes. They believed Ukrainian resistance would be far less competent than it is. That their morale would be garbage. They planned on fighting another hapless 2014 version of their ground forces. They dismissed the new formations, namely the National Guard units, as useless militia. They failed to account for training and weapons advances. Of the professionalism of regular units. Of how quickly western arms and intel could be integrated. Of how quickly reserve and volunteer units could be mobilized.

It wasn't that they didn't think. It was that their assumptions were flawed. They wanted to see a cakewalk so they prepared and planned for one. Their General Staff fucked up.

No, I'm actually calling the city Kevin without the slightest hint of irony. The whole Kiev vs Kyiv thing was too autistic even for me, so I settled for Kevin. Because Kevin is home alone and surrounded by Russians.

Yes they only thought about the gains of natural reasources and tbf crimea was such a cake walk why not 2 more chunks and then some more chunks and eventually Ukraine is now a Russian substate.
I don't think anyone involved in the "special military operation" is a dullard. it's a nation wide conflict on both side's. why is this a difficult concept to understand

If? You mean when, just wait until AOC stars telling us we need to dismantle our nukes for a peace dividend because guaranteed there are enough brain dead faggots to believe it.

Ukraine have done more than I expected in the fight for their country. it's to be commended. fear it will not be enough

Since people seem to conveniently forget that Iraq invasion was an equal shitshow to the Russian antics today:

I don't know how I would provide pictures of troops lacking food, batteries and even ammo in some cases, but it did happen. The main highway leading to Baghdad was littered with thousands of MRE just tossed out of windows and there was fucking units walking along picking them up looking for food. It was absolutely ridiculous, fuel shortages abound, retarded pilots attacking our own units as just another tidbit of joy that was forgotten as well.

We don't know what the Russian General Staff are thinking or planning, but I doubt they'd make an assumption of that kind. And as we won't know anything about what was and or will be said in these planning meetings for generals for some time, who knows what the Russians think? Anyways, as someone mentioned earlier in this thread, the Russians might be making a feint for Kiev, while encircling the Ukrainian forces in the Southeast to crush them. To cast some hypocrisy on my own statements, I think that's a likely course of action given the information we know.

The pilots thing was a hardware issue with a-10, in most cases the fucking pilots were using binoculars to spot targets on the fucking ground while flying because retards who thought a mini gun would make a good cas weapon didn’t want any “fancy technology” in the plane. Reminder that the reformers and their cronies are responsible for building and fielding the plane with the most blue on blue.

Edit: fix some grammatical errors and plane name.

What are you smoking? It took the coalition 40 days to occupy all of Iraq in 2003. That's 430k square kilometers of territory. We're currently in day 27 of the Russian offensive and they've currently occupied less than half that number. The coalition also lost 137 men, not even the official Kremlin number puts the number of killed Russian troops that low.
There's a major difference between US troops having to jury rig their own armor and dead russian troops being left out in the snow to freeze and be pissed on by hohol peasants.

Let's sanction the country we sent all our jobs to during an inflation crisis so that they can limit our access to goods and materials, all during a time when America is increasingly seen as delusional and schizophrenic in its double standards. Biden era foreign policy will go down in history as the weakest and most pathetic of any time in American history. The retarded millennials running the Department of State think they can treat sovereign nations like when they ask bigtech to cancel an American account they don't like. Absolutely fucking embarrassing.

I wondered this before, and I'm wondering it still: why is DC spazzing out so hard over this?

We've already slapped infinity sanctions on Russia. Ukraine has already received billions of dollars worth of free weapons and cash. Nord Stream 2 is finally dead, after years of US government pressure, so that's a big win for American policy. Freeloading Nato countries are finally promising to pay their way, another win for those defense contractors. Sure, the official line reported in every Western media outlet that Russia has stalled and is getting its butt kicked (:smug:) is probably at least partly bullshit, but even if a shirtless Vladimir Putin himself is currently riding victoriously towards Kiev on top of a bear, why does it seem like they're panicking?

They're acting as if this was something between the Cuban missile crisis and the bombing of Pearl Harbor, when the stakes for US strategic and economic interests are in reality about zero. Doesn't make sense, especially when they're willing to damage strategic relationships that actually matter - with China and Saudi - over who gets to control the poorest country in Eastern Europe.

DPR/LPR didn't make much sense to me before this war.
Crimea did, because Sevastopol is a warm water port and this allows reinforcement of Syrian Army.

But now, those oblasts being taken over by Russia...It is obvious.

Without going to war directly, they forced Ukraine to concentrate a lot of their "hardened" forces in one area. This created an immediate pocket.
By having Belarus and control of the sea they almost entirely encircled Ukraine to begin with.
Where the fuck is this analysis in western media? Can they admit that they knew this would happen?
Can they admit that Russia waited to settle Syria before turning their sights west?
Is this not practical tactics on display, while the west struggles to provide arms and support AFTER the battle has already started?

Sun Tzu said: Whoever is first in the field and awaits the coming of the enemy, will be fresh for the fight; whoever is second in the field and has to hasten to battle will arrive exhausted.

You don’t even have to look at the war in Syria for this: Russian ‘separatists’ pulled the same trick back in 2014 against the Ukrainian Army. They feigned a retreat back to the Russian border, leading the Ukies straight into Russian heavy artillery, and then encircled them. They massacred the Ukrainian Army, and if Russia has made a critical mistake somewhere, it was probably in not finishing the job back then.

The Ukrainians should have beat feet back to the Dniper, but you can’t real expect Ukrainians to learn.

Because all the dirty fucking laundry the Bidens have is in there. And many other people's shit stained underwear.
