Idk about you but TikTok keeps serving me all these munchie service dog accounts. Where they are yelling at people for asking them questions about the service dog and quoting the law to a chorus of "you go girl!" Because it's always a girl. I have yet to come across a male munchie with a service dog.

One was explaining her dog was needed for her MCAS (a munchie favorite), because the dog is apparently trained to smell the air and guide her away from smells? LMAO. She was in a mall...where I'm getting everything and anything will smell. Maybe don't go to the fucking mall if you are going to go into make believe anaphylactic shock because a person walking in front of you is wearing perfume. This dog in particular also had a vest on just littered with patches including "not all disabilities are visible".

Nearly all these munchie dogs are said to provide "deep pressure therapy" when someone confronts them about what service the dog is trained to provide. Which is just the fucking dog jumping up on them pushing them down. Again, if you need something to push you down in public for your illness.....you're just mentally ill. Same thing with these "seizure alert" dogs which from what I've read is not something a dog can actually detect. They can do shit if you fall on the floor and start seizing, for sure, but they literally say the dog can detect before a seizure happens. They absolutely can't.

I think there's some evidence that dogs can detect seizures with training- I've found one article that pet dogs can't (written in 2007, so pretty dated) and a few articles saying that trained dogs can smell seizures (only 5 participants in this one, but pretty high accuracy).

Their subjects for the test were dogs and owners recruited from a local dog training club. The dogs had not been trained to do anything in terms of seizures and the owners were epilepsy-free.

Sessions were videotaped, and the investigators were looking for three commonly observed attention-seeking behaviors that have been reported when observing seizure alert dogs, namely closely hovering around the owner, intense staring, and climbing up or pawing the owner.

The release of the seizure-related odors did have the effect of increasing the frequency of the dog's targeted behaviors. Most significantly, this included the scent sample gathered just prior to a seizure.

This is an important finding since it suggests that changes in an individual's scent might be a cue that indicates an imminent seizure. But more than that it suggests that we now have a means of not only training seizure response dogs but also "seizure alert dogs." The authors summarize the significance of their findings by saying, "The existence of pre-seizure odor(s) is an important finding because it offers a simple and reliable means for training dependable seizure-alert dogs to warn people of an impending epileptic event, an aim which has long been sought."

I think you're right about the level of exceptional behavior in the TikTok service dog community, especially from women who claim the usual suspects (POTS, EDS, PNES*, and psychiatric disorders), but there is some legitimacy to seizure service dogs. As long as they actually have epilepsy.

It is a scent-based alert - the same way service dogs can be trained to detect migraines before they happen. They smell the chemical change, they alert the handler, and then the handler can respond appropriately (pre-medicating, staying home, whatever).
I've also heard anecdotally (but from an experienced service dog trainer) that they can even detect the scent differences between different types of seizures. I'm not sure if that's true, but if it is that's pretty fucking cool.

Dogs can smell a good amount of things, but these munchies aren't triggering any sort of scent based response from their dogs. Their dogs pick up on the nonverbal communication of their mentally ill owners and learn to react based on the communication they receive. A lot of times munchies enforce negative behaviors because they aren't actually aware of the types of cues they're giving their dogs. This is something that happens in any kind of dog, not just "service" dogs.

Most intelligent mammals and some birds can assess human emotion and react in a way they feel they should. At the same time, most humans aren't able to read the emotions and behavior of their pets and this is where people get bitten or worse. Animals are constantly giving cues to those around them but the amount of people actually in tune with their pets is abysmally low.

When someone gets a true service dog, these dogs get the rules rewritten so to speak. They learn how to communicate their needs in a way that their owners can understand and also to ignore body language that would trigger an untrained animal to react. That is the majority of the training they receive to behave in public, which is something these fake trainers and self diagnosing weirdos fail to address.

Anyway, sperging aside, if you pay attention to a trained service dog versus an ordinary pet, you will see the difference.

Interesting as long as they have something distinguishing them from everyone else? Generally boring? Automatically skimmed over because animal abuse is horrifying?

I can't speak for anyone else, but I find them particularly egregious for the reasons you said. The game is so blatant, they just crave both being the center of attention and trumpeting their "condishuns" when they enter the room. On top of that, they feel powerful in being able to scream legal lies at people that look, question behavior, or even exist in their presence. God forbid someone asks them to leave (even legally), they will lose their minds with all those bonus victimhood credits.

It's a perfect storm, power over people, power over a slave animal, the potential to be major ableism victim, and sweet, basic attention that attracts these munchies like flies.

Why is it that they are never capable of being basic pet owners as well, and the dogs are almost universally abused, overused, and neglected in some way?

I think they deserve plenty of discussion.

I asked a munch I personally know how often her panic "alert dog" alerted and how it helped, genuine question. I mean, how does being told "hey, you're having a panic attack" help anything? This dog was allegedly professionally trained and cost thousands, so I figured I could be enlightened. Silence and anger. This person does not have panic disorder, as I know now, and the dog never once alerted.

What I did have explained from the horses mouth is that she enjoys the feeling of power with a large dog in company. She also detailed a manufactured lie to tell "stupid people who can't understand mental health" in the store: it was a "diabetic alert" dog.

I watched this person with "social anxiety" talk for ten minutes at a time to strangers over the dog, listing all their "medical ailments" and one upping replies. These people obviously wanted to get on with shopping and regretted engaging, but she would not shut up. It was a shameless, colorfuly vested, giant fake badged trap for vampiric attention seeking.

When I pressed the question about alert details again later, I shit you not, they forgot they told me about the diabetic lie and tried to tell me the same "stupid person" diabetic alert lie.

Fun details:
- This dog was forced to shit in stores because she couldn't be bothered to give it a minute outside, and when employees cleaned she stood and laughed at them, another power trip. - The dog was worked into old age and only stopped when the incontinence was so bad it shit in the car and everywhere else too (months before death).
- This dog had a serious, ignored aggression issue
- She is a hoarder of animals and things alongside medical lies, and had seven other animals trapped with this thing in a basement caked in filth. The stench was literally left everywhere the dog went (my car tooks repeated cleanings). I felt so bad for restaurants, it was gag worthy and they didn't know they could ask her to leave.

The whole thing was madness, and I can only imagine the nightmares we don't see both behind the curated online images and in others, like my PL, who prefer local sources of attention.

Interesting, I'll admit when I'm wrong. I guess a dog can detect these things. I was thinking along the lines of the dog picking up on the person's behavioral change when the seizure hits (slowing down, crouching, falling, twitching, visible stuff) but if they can detect smell changes (pre visual changes) that's neat. But to your second part, that is where the issue lies. POTS is another one where they all claim to need a dog in case they faint. I get that because the dog can actually do something if you crash. But do most of these munchies have ACTUAL epilepsy? Where the body would be giving these scent changes? That's where I'm thinking no, they don't. So the dog couldn't pre-detect anything because there isn't anything happening to detect until they start acting woozie on purpose.

I didn't want to shit up the thread if nobody else was interested. One of my long-time personal favorite munchies is Jaye, and now by extension of that his partner Elias/Drexel.
They've both been magically cured of their various ailments, and now only suffer from DID! It's so weird how that works, that they both completely physically recovered as soon as it became convenient. Except Jaye might be getting ready to start a new munchie saga?

The two of them have a business called HeroicK9s LLC (it is not actually registered as an LLC). It's been in operation since 2020, but Jaye is just now getting formal education in dog training. They were training a dog to help her with her aggression and reactivity, but she had to be put down after attacking another dog.
Also, he's trying to sell Dante again.


I can post my autistic deep dive if anyone is interested in that. I think what they're doing is absolutely horrible, especially since people put their trust in these shitheads to train service dogs. Jaye even apparently plans on breeding dogs. (And Elias wants to learn how to do dog reiki?)

So they booted me a couple of days after my initial post on Ceebs. I didn't even do anything (this time), I just lurked. It shows how often they keep an eye on KF bc I haven't posted about her in well over a year and didn't engage with AVEN for nearly 2.

These screenshots (and all the other ones about her) are taken from threads in asexuality.org. if I dont mention the titte of the thread or the context of her replies it's because it's not relevant or related. She consistently hijacks threads to talk about herself. The threads can be about anything, even about pancake recipes or whatever, she will find a way to turn it to herself and her problems (for example, in the case of pancake recipes she'd talk about that one time she was making pancakes with her grandmother and one fell on her face and she had a panic attack and ended up in the hospital, you get the idea). The point is, the context doesn't matter because it has nothing to do with what she is talking about.
