What is war good for?

You were doing real well up until your false assumption that they were traumatized. Is there some reason you feel compelled to say stupid, untrue and insulting things to me?
shut up Thomas you fat dog fucker. rope a dope and Thomas you are a dope so lets get some rope and find a tree

Everyone is guilty of warmongering. You've never read up on the history of Native Americans slaughtering each other. Then again, I wouldn't expect a subhuman dog mastubator and child rapist to learn anyways.
But I have and in North America, there is only one pre-Columbian massacre site that is known. Most intertribal conflict was thought to be no more violent than a polo match. This changed with colonization as eastern tribes allied with colonizers against rival tribes whose territories they were being pushed into.

So you were ok with the suggestion that you should have been sacrificed in a really stupid war to purify your family…

But suggesting that your attempted and successful molestation of child and dog respectively caused trauma was a bridge too far?

Tom i probably have far less hate for you than most people here my man. In my mind you are the best here at ripping on dave which is hilarious.

Just tell us the truth about Sabrina. The definitive truth. Tell us who your friends were, what they were doing with her, and how you got involved.

Tell us without lying and going off on silly tangents. Use point form even and keep things in chronological order.

Have you ever read Margaret Mead, Thomas? She actually had a theory, that war is an invention, a strategy that is adapted by human societies for specific purposes.

Warfare, as in organized mass violence, versus personal violence (which you still see in the Inuit pre-contact) is absent from certain societies like the pre-contact Inuit, but it has less to do with technological development and more to do with isolation. As soon as one group in the area adapted organized violence as a strategy, all other groups in the area had to adapt or perish. That dynamic has not gone away. Ukraine is a good example of this. Even if the Ukrainians had sworn to total pacifisms, it's meaningless if their neighbors don't also. The question of what war is good for is ultimately a foolish one, all war has to do is serve the interests of one group at one time to become a necessary requirement for all groups to practice.

To the actual question of this thread, war is a useful way of gaining access to resources, gaining power over useful territory, or fulfilling domestic political goals. It's also useful for defending against those things. What exactly is your solution to the problem of war? Do you believe in some sort of enforced global order of government? Might solve the problem of war, but it won't solve the problem of violence, as I'm sure someone on the fringes of society (and the law) like you, well realizes.

What a dumb commentary to bring to the Ukraine debate.

While I was taking History in my youth my theory I was writing up of warfare was a way for the human race to continue to evolve. Look at this way. While we didn't evolve physically, warfare allowed us to come up with new ideas. From agriculture to building fortified towns and later cities. War also lead to increase birth rates which mean more traveling, more traveling meant finding more ways to find food and clothing. Warfare allowed the human brain to continue to evolve.

Such things can now be seen in other primates like chimpanzees.

“In Italy for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock.” - Harry Lime, The Third Man

My friend, it has often been said that I like war.

My friend, I like war...

No, friend, I love war!

I love holocausts.

I love blitzkriegs.

I love defensive lines.

I love sieges, charges, I love mop-up operations, and retreats.

Wars across prairies, in streets, in trenches, in grasslands, in frozen tundras, through deserts, on the sea, in the air, I love every act of war that can occur upon this earth. I love blasting the enemy to smithereens with artillery salvos that thunder across the lines of battle.

My heart leaps with joy whenever a soldier is tossed high into the air and cut to pieces by well placed sniper rounds. And there is nothing like a tank operator using a Tiger acht acht to destroy enemy tanks. And the feeling that comes when a soldier runs screaming from his blazing tank only to be mowed down by heavy machine gun fire, is such an exquisite feeling. Like when ranks of infantry brandish their bayonets rushing into the enemy line. It moves me deep within my heart to watch a fresh recruit stabbing over and over into the bloated chest of a long-dead enemy.

The sight of deserters being strung up from a street lamp is an irresistible pleasure. And there is nothing more arousing, than the sounds made by prisoners of war dropping like flies, screaming in agony as they're mowed down by ear piercing schmeissers! When a band of pitiful resistance fighters makes their final stand with nothing but small arms, only to have their city smashed to atoms block by block by 4.8 ton bombshells, I'm in ecstasy.

I love it when my forces are ravaged by a Russian armored division. It's so sad to see towns and villages that were supposed to be defended at all costs, being laid to waste, their women and children being raped, and killed. I love to be squashed under the heel of the British and American war machines. The humiliation, as my men crawl around like vermin, ducking the jagdbombers flying overhead.

Gentlemen... All I ask for is war, a war so grand as to make Hell itself tremble. Gentlemen, I ask you as fellow brothers in arms, what is it that you really want? Do you wish for further war as I do? Do you wish for a merciless, bloody war war whose fury is built with iron, and lightning, and fire? Do you ask for war to sweep in like a tempest, leaving not even ravens to scavenge, from this Earth!?

...Very well. Then krieg is what you shall have. We are a clenched fist, ready to strike down all who oppose us, with our might.

But... After enduring over half a century wallowing in the darkness, for us, a simple "ordinary" war will no longer be sufficient.

We need a MASSIVE war! A war beyond any other that man's history has ever known! We are but a single battalion... The remnants of a defeated army numbering less than a thousand strong. However, I believe that each of you old warriors is equal to a thousand of their sickly soft children! We represent a force that could easily defeat an army of a million and one men!

It is time for them to awake the ones who sent us screaming into oblivion, and who now lie sleeping. Let's drag them out of bed by the hair, and remind them of what we are! We will remind them of what it feels like to live in fear. We will remind them of the sound our jackboots make against their throats.

We will remind them, that there are more things between Heaven and Hell than are dreamt of in their philosophy.

Our Kampfgruppe of one thousand vampires is going to burn this world down to ash. Yes, my friends! Soon, Europe's charred remains will illuminate the night sky! I have brought you all back just as I promised I would. Back to our favorite battlefield. Back to our beloved war!

...At last, the sea lion has crossed the ocean and is heading up the hill.

Attention, all soldiers of the Millennium Battalion! This is a message from your commander. …Friends... let’s bring them hell.

Tom's kinda like a Nazi that wants to be a vampire, he just wouldn't ever admit it.

So long as the people consent to being owned and convinced that some people are better than others, they will be conditioned to do violence to each other, instead of their oppressors. Over the course of thousands of years, people have become congenitally stupid, generation after generation, committing mass murder for their feudal masters.

Neither of those books were written by native authors and native speakers are the people whose histories I repeat. Regardless of the validity of the claims of these authors, the warfare and brutality of most indigenous cultures pales in comparison with the genocidal savagery of European Judeo-Christian religious nationalists in their former colonies that , in most cases, goes on today.

See this? Unbiased. That's how you debate/discuss without shitting all over the place.

Well damn, he can write a logical take without getting off topic. Good for you, seriously. Marked improvement.

Anyways, I'm native. We used to rape and pillage each other. Sure, warfare violence was ocassionally settled through coup ritual but warfare isn't just killing. Ever hear of the rape of Nanjing? Anyways, women were stolen and traded amongst Cree, Inuk, etc. The main exception being the Iroquois who had a distinctly matrilineal, woman-led society and even they still took slaves.
