What China CAN do however is publicly announce that they will from now on NOT take on any future US debt. That is sufficient to crater the US economy possibly for decades. But that is the nuclear option. Once you say you will no longer accept any more US debt that is something you can never undo and the relations to US can never be mended. But if pants-shitter and his incompetent admin continues to destroy relations with foreign partners and allies who knows what can happen.
