Poor Ollie, not understanding the cruelty of internet bullying.

For those who were wondering why you have not see much of top simps and proud father Huke recently is because besides being staff in the next Black Rock shooter anime he also got in the new SHAFT RWBY anime so I don't expect Kiara getting new stuff in some months
Finally, they give RWBY to an actual japanese film maker.

Maybe, just maybe, RWBY won't have an absolute dogshit story anymore, and also it might have nice animation for once. I always thought it was a shame that such good designs were wasted by Rooster Teeth's horrendous production. I guess this isn't really on topic though so I'll just leave it at this, good for Huke, I hope it's successful so that he can make even more money.

Lol, HoloID's issue has never been that there haven't been enough eyes on them, or that their talents are underappreciated. Their lowest-subbed member has over half a million subs and two of them are at 1m for crying out loud.

Most of ID1's post-boom viewers were people who wanted English-speaking Hololive members. ID2 rode the wave of HoloMyth all the way up until IRyS and Council took the attention away. The overwhelming Western fanbase makes it so that they get a huge initial boost and then completely flatline as their job as a stopgap between EN generations is fulfilled.

Not to say there's any problem with their growth so far or anything like that, but there's no reason to pretend that HoloID have been some untouched gem no one was aware of until HoloFes. They're all massive industry names regardless of what branch they're affiliated with. Their issue is who their audience really is and who they're competing against and that won't change unless the Indonesian government mandates their people have a quota of weekly ID streams to meet.
Remember when Cover tried to pander to the Indonesian crowd by making the HoloID have Indo only streams at least once per week, and the EOPs at Reddit got mad because they wouldnt be able to understand them?

HoloID has always been in this constant state of limbo , not knowing what their audience is. People always treat them as Proto HoloEN.
They’re too Western for the Indonesian market yet their heavy SEA accents make them unfit for the Western Market

This is a good thing.

It means WB will see the success and potential RWBY still has, prize it away from RoosterTeeth, and then kill the company.
I really wouldn't be surprised if RT becomes the DSP of online media companies, clinging to life and relevancy years after anyone is willing to put up with their shit. It would be the best outcome they could manage at this point.

I love the dichotomy between scuttle sperging out about the IDs and ollie reaching 1 Mil :story:

I think they are doing fine tbh, it would be an interesting idea to fold them into a "Hololive worldwide" alongside the ENs but that wouldn't fundamentally change them.

I get you, but with Tow Ubukata writting it, and toshimasa suzuki directing it, I'm willing to give a shot, speculation is that they are going for an alt timeline, IE. rewriting most if not all of the trash out of the story.
Just remember what happened with Psycho Pass 2. S3 and the movies were a lot better but S2 really showed the series needed Urobuchi to still be there.

I was worried for a second because I hadn't considered Subaru's feelings on the shit going on. So seeing her next stream being titled "【】【】" with plain art fanart as a thumbnail had me a bit worried.

But she changed it to Sausage Legend 2 which is oddly fitting.
Shubaru flexes her power level beating people with her sausage!

... oh god wtf did i write that?!

You say that like they haven't been on life support since GenLock was a stillbirth that cratered their already in the red numbers.

Whatever skeezy business WB is covering with the net loss of money they call Rooster Teeth better be worth it.

I certainly remember Risu seething as she put the schedule together, but I didn't stick around to learn how far that plan went (I imagine the answer is 'not very').

But I hope people don't misunderstand me. It's not a bad thing that they found a large EN fanbase, but it's not a criticism to acknowledge that fact, either. I was responding specifically to the notion that HoloID are on the cusp of suddenly blowing up after their HoloFes performance with the question of where they are hoping that engagement comes from.

You only need to check Socialblade trends (it's not perfect but it's tangible) to see that Ollie and Reine have had their worst months in terms of growth since the arrival of Council. It's not a coincidence that Anya, the one who did not appeal to EOPs in the first place, has not suffered the same results. In hindsight, you could say that Anya sacrificed EOP viewers and bloat in favour of consistency.

'Proto HoloEN' is very apt. 'EN' and 'ID' become irrelevant tags when everyone - even the management - knows they all want the same audience pool. 20 members vying for an EN audience but 9 of them are not called 'EN'. Reine and Ollie have 570K and 1m subs respectively but average the same viewers as Reimu nowadays.

I think they are doing fine tbh, it would be an interesting idea to fold them into a "Hololive worldwide" alongside the ENs but that wouldn't fundamentally change them.
I agree. The Top 6 Indo corpo V-Tubers all belong to Hololive, and their least popular member is twice the size of Nijisanji's most popular.

Which is kind of what I'm getting at. HoloID are huge entities. They have a combined 4.1m subs, and that's not including the new Gen that already have about 50K each (already 3x the amount of UPROAR!!! lmao). People aren't sleeping on them, they aren't watching them because the entire branch serves to tide EOPs over until the next EN generation. ID2 has served its purpose to the r/Holo crowd, and ID3 will do the same in 6-8 months from now.

They kind of know that too. I can't help but remember that Ollie meltdown where she told her complaining indo viewers to just do their eigo reps.
Granted, it's justified in that the comment that set her off was deliberately aiming to annoy her with some meme spam and she had been trying to be polite to all of her viewership, but it really shows how out of focus ID holomem are.

EDIT: by the way, this clip is a perfect example why I have a hard time watching Ollie in particular. It's not exactly the language (though with how she uses it doesn't help), she just hurts my hears
