Get a gander at that oil slick. The state of the Ropucha is unknown, and it didn't look to have rudder damage while running away. We did theorize that one was still loaded when the strike hit, so this could just be burning fuel and time until the port is clear enough to resume partial operations.
Footage has just come out from inside the Alligator

If by "a radical push for modernisation" you mean troons in charge of a woke bureaucracy and lockstep media and no dissent from globohomo, then yes that might very well happen.
It's not about being westernised. The Kremlin doesn't care about Russia's traditions or change. Not even incremental change. They don't have beliefs. All they want is control, over themselves and the world. Every facet of the Russian society has been subverted and corrupted to suit their own needs, in a manner that has left most people destitute beyond recourse. Imagine the Globohomo driven to its logical conclusion and the current RF is just that.

So it seems you also live about 50 years in the past. Russia is not our main competition or threat, China is. What Russia does have is natural resources in abundance and all those resources will now go to our main threat at a discounted rate. Yet somehow you see this as a win.

Get with the times.
Imagine if China just wait until NATO etc concentrate all their force containing Russia, then invade Taiwan. Seriously, at this point wtf are we going to do about it? Blow our other foot off and sanction them?

I wish more western right wingers knew that the RF is basically Eurasian multiculturalism instead of Eurogroid multiculturalism.

This is what 74 years of socialism does to a country. Bolchevism was far more destructive than Tsarism and Russia will probably never recover.

Maybe you shouldn’t have butchered all of those Bosnians and Croats then.
Weren't fast enough to finish the job, yes.

Anti-NATO protests

Did I imply somewhere that I'm a Serb? Apologies if I did. I'm not.

Some protest because their friends are not allowed to devour another country, some because they don't want to pay more for shit.

In Paraguay, riots broke out due to rising fuel prices.
Disgruntled Paraguayans destroy and break everything that catches their eye. In addition, local residents set fire to the police building.

"They set fire to the police building" -
as per tradition,

Yeah but Russia is fucking with our racket. They should surrender and not allow more senseless deaths of their troops. It's the same argument Ruskies say.
Lol at “our racket” as if you have anything to do with it. You’re an unpaid cheerleader for corrupt fags who are mismanaging their empire into the dustbin of history and probably dooming your descendants to a shitty life.

It’s easy to jerk off to power fantasies about being part of the American empire crushing the Ruskies, when you actually look at what it means in the the real world it’s ugly, brutal, and pointless.

Bolshevism was a monstrosity. It butchered the hard-line communists that opposed collectivisation, purges and the centralisation of power by Lenin and his cadre. It eradicated Russia's conservative roots and intelligentsia for being "counter-revolutionary", kulaks or whatever-else. It robbed many minorities of their identity through a soviet-styled Russification. It went after anyone that told the state to go fuck itself. And Russia's modern government is comprised of the refuse that was brought up in the USSR, which at its core is really just "everyone is equal under the despot's boot."

I'm a Ruskie and I un-ironically believe that losing this war would be in Russia's best interest in the long run. This war is a jarring exposition of what 20 years of Putin's rampant kleptocracy has done to stymie its own potential. Humbling Russia just might inspire for a radical push for modernisation as opposed to retaining its imperialist ambitions at the expense of their own citizenry.
Not attacking your position, just curious. Let's for one moment imagine the future where the Avengers do arrive in Ukraine, the ghost of Kyiv stops the Russian advance and Zelensky flaunts into Kremlin with all the panache of V from "V for Vendetta" and forces Putin to resign at the end of a shiny rapier pointed straight at his throat.

What then? What reparations will the victors ask for and what will they do to evoke change?
