Facebook projected to lose 45% of teens in 2022 compared to 2019 - Bad news for Boomerbook

Faecesbook is close to obsolete, thankfully. TikTik is cancer in its way, but it's harder to unwitting compromise oneself with an over-detailed paged and then go into a FB group to sperg about Biden or whoever.
TikTok seems like pure cancer. I can't imagine it's a step up from facebook.
Cancerous, but it's literally much harder to share as much personal data. It might be creating a zoomer mental health crisis, but from an angle of personal data, it appears to be not as bad.

What do you mean? The Tiktok app on both android and ios both ask for every permission you could imagine and then more. That's ripe for harvesting metadata, which is probably more useful than user generated data. Given Tiktok's younger userbase, I'd be more than certain they allow all the permissions so they can watch their silly videos.

But as bad as Facebook is, isn't it the least of all these evils? I can't stand Twitter because it turns everyone into infants. And what about Tiktok? Is it anything more than brain cell destroying 15 second videos? Can you actually keep up with your friends and plan get-togethers on that shit?
It's true. I think we could rejoice in the downfall of Boomerbook more if we knew that most of them weren't just replacing it with Twitter, Instagram, or Tiktok. I agree that Tiktok is definitely addictive and affects people's attention span.

Tiktok is responsible for the goldfish attention span you see nowadays, while Instagram is responsible for increased anxiety and loneliness because of filters and shit.

The removal is Boomerbook is good but that ain't gonna stop Globohomo from creating the next shit thing. Right now, its Twitter and Tiktok and I cannot stand both. So no, this is just delaying the inevitable.

I don't fucking know anybody who uses tiktok who isn't either under the age of 20 or they're one of my more re-re friends who are trying to sell crystal healing bullshit to insecure teenage girls. To me it feels like the cheap hasbro toy version of the internet and zoomers are gonna drop the shit in a few years like they dropped their old tonka toys in the sandbox.

I think we're at a point where social media as a concept is just fucking DEAD. If some new social media bullshit came out tomorrow I'd be like "I don't give a flying fuck" and I don't know anyone else who would care, either. It wasn't like that 15 years ago. We used to get stoked about shit like that. Now it's just like who really actually fucking cares? It's not novel anymore. It's like going to your teenage mall from 20 years ago and it's half abandoned and full of nothing that you remember, only some hobos and seedy jews trying to sell you bathtub liners.

Women who listen to tiktok on their phone loudspeaker please throw yourself out a window
I get little bit of cancer hearing you listening to the same staged bullshit video over and over again and going "aww thats SOOO inspirational"

TikTok gave us an influx of cat vids to bing on. It can't be all that bad. The internet needs cats, without them it's just a serious of tubes man.

Social media has a problem with being able to age gracefully and fulfill a niche instead of being the end-all-be-all. The days of Facebook being a giant umbrella for everyone from your 8 year old to your grandma and hosting everything from irl meet ups to fetish groups to the latest memes are over. You use Facebook now to vaguely keep up with your family and people you went to highschool with and maybe a few hobby groups. If Zuck and it's shareholders can be okay with that then I could see Facebook lasting a long time, and I think it could generate new users as Zoomers and Gen Alpha age and become more interested in the type of things Facebook is used for, but it will never go back to its hey-day and if they try to do that it'll implode like Myspace.

The only people under 40 i see on facebook are broke VR gamers with quests or people who use marketplace to buy tired old furniture. Honestly marketplace has pretty much entirely killed craigslist in my area to the point its not even worth looking at.

If you want a used car, you'd be stupid to not have a Facebook
