BREAKING: Biden says 'food shortages are gonna be real' - "With regard to food shortages. Yes, we did talk about food shortages. And, and it's gonna be real," Biden said.

President Joe Biden held a press conference in Brussels on Thursday, during a trip to Europe amid the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

He took questions from reporters about concerns of growing food insecurity globally, as the two nations that are currently in conflict provide much of the world's wheat.

"Can you say whether there's the conversation is a turn to the subject of food shortages and what the US will do to address wheat shortages in particular, as a result of this?" Biden was asked.

"With regard to food shortages. Yes, we did talk about food shortages. And, and it's gonna be real," Biden said.

"The price of the sanctions is not just imposed upon Russia. It's imposed upon an awful lot of countries as well. Including European countries and our country as well," he went on.

The United States and NATO nations have issued major sanctions against the Russian economy, pushing Russia to engage in trade with nations that are not part of the western alliance.

"And because both Russia and Ukraine have been the breadbasket of Europe in terms of wheat, for example, just give one example. But we had a long discussion in the G7 with the, with both the United States, which has a significant third-largest producer of wheat in the world, as well as Canada, which is also a major, major producer," Biden said.

"And we both talked about how we could increase and disseminate more rapidly, food shortages. In addition to that, we talked about urging all European countries and everyone else end trade restrictions on sending, limitations on sending food abroad.

"And so we are in the process of working out with our European friends, what it would be, what it would take to help alleviate the concerns relative to food shortages.

"We also talked about a significant major US investment, among others, in terms of providing for, the need for humanitarian assistance, including food as we move forward," Biden concluded.

The flag of Ukraine, blue on top and gold on the bottom, represents the sky and fields of wheat.

Consumer prices have risen consistently in the US on everything from food, to fuel, to supplies. Concerns have been mounting as the Ukraine conflict continues that prices increases will not abate, but will continue their rise unimpeded.

Or is Biden just gonna go to eleven and criminalize food stockpiling?
Remember when people bought up too much hand sanitizer at the start of covid and were paraded around on tv as the scum of the earth and then forced to give up the stuff they purchased for free? They're going to do the same with people who buy too much food. Doesn't matter if you were buying it to feed your family, every news site will say you were trying to scalp people

Here's something to piss you off.

See, it isn't going to hit the Dem base.

They use food stamps. They'll get food stamp increases while you pay full price.

They won't even notice the rise in prices beyond the fact they're getting more food stamps.

And once the shortages end, they won't get their stamps cut, they'll stay high.

Be prepared for plenty of news segments and articles about how they NEED foodstamps for their 8 children from 9 different fathers and no, they can't work, they have to take care of their kids because you monsters refused to give them free day care.

I had a beaner moment and thought you meant literal scalping.
i mean, it seems like i'll have to learn that in the coming days, keep my enemies on their toes, make powerful examples of others, and such

At least mylar bags and oxygen absorbers are cheap enough. Putting it in the bags gives another 15 years on its 2 year shelf life. Indefinite if you freeze it.

I've been freezing my flour but I've also been using and rotating stuff I get. This is really good to know though.

I keep a pretty healthy diet but occasionally I like to splurge on snack food.

My favorite type of dessert nut bar has gone from a excessive but ultimately reasonable $5 for 6 bars to $10.99 for 6 bars.
I caved and bought a box last night and it hit me that what used to be normal snack purchases are now luxuries.

I can live off non perishables but sometimes it’s nice to have something excessive.

That is incorrect. Those sanctions are royally fucking the Russian people. the problem is that this will not hurt as much as people think against the Oligarchs and Putin.

Now apart from all of this HOW IN THE FUCK THIS HAS TO DO WITH FOOD SHORTAGES???

This is a A GOD DAMNED LIE!!! This is Biden's Fault AND THE SOCIALISTIC DEMOCRATIC MACHINE.

And they are trying to pin their mistakes of how they got in power and how they are controlling the country.

Make no mistake. You do NOT print money to hide the weakness of your economy. THIS CAUSES INFLATION.

You do not shut down the entire country for political gain BY using a pandemic
THAT THEY MADE IT WORSE.

Finally food shortages are overblown a bit... CHEAP stuff is disappearing. Not the expensive name brand products. I am NOT seeing any food shortages anywhere in my region. I just bought 24 pounds of top round for $3.59 a pound. All I see are excuses.

And I will say the following GREED IS PLAYING INTO THIS MORE THAN EVER.

I have mentioned many times about Chinesium OSB plywood. You maaaaybe make a case for the cost of transport and tariffs, except that Chinesium plywood went down to $18 last December. HOWEVER WHY is Georgia Pacific OSB PLYWOOD that comes from the US $50 dollars a fucking sheet several weeks ag. Cost of gas??? No this was before the sanctions. This about rampant greed by corporations raping the middle class and our government DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT.

Giving out gas cards???? BRRRRRR GOES THE PRINTING PRESS.

The food shortages because of the sanctions IMHO ARE a lie in the US. It is just another excuse by the Biden Administration to cover up all of their mistakes.

Mid Terms are coming... VOTE THESE FUCKERS WHO ARE UP FOR ELECTION OUT!!!

That is how you take back this government.

Since this is relevant On how I feel about the lies that have been going on.

Again I don't like the man. I have dealt with these types of people like this before and is the reason "why" I use my money as a shield to protect myself....

But I will say that he does not lose many lawsuits. So I'm wondering what this will come out too.

Interesting never the less.
This is gonna sound very blackpilled, but an election in November will not be soon enough to save anything. The crash is already inbound, and cannot be averted.
So how long before the media starts blaming preppers for shortages? "These food shortages sure are rough! If it wasn't for those damn preppers buying tons of food, there would be more than enough for everyone! Don't buy more than your fair share!"

Or is Biden just gonna go to eleven and criminalize food stockpiling?
He may try, but trust in the government is extremely low especially among preppers. What you'd see instead in state and local governments start to ignore the federal government. Say you're the governor of Montana looking at a food crisis. Are you going to forcefully seize your farmers' cattle so the asshole mayor of Seattle can feed his hives? Fuck no. You'll come up with some bullshit to block it. Same thing for rural areas in blue states. Southern Illinois isn't going to commit suicide for Chicago.

"D.C. has made its ruling, now let them enforce it."

The left will REE, but it'll be the same as with the summer of love. BLM and antifa were very limited outside of friendly areas, and were successfully pushed out of Eastern Washington and Oregon when word they were starting forest fires went out.
