Russians have been schizo in their messaging, a couple days ago the spokeswoman of Russian Foreign Ministry made it sound like Russia now wanted to end Ukriane as an independent state, now the military are saying they're focusing on Donbass (which to be fair the southern region has been their only front that could reasonably be called successful after an entire month has passed with the capture of Kherson and the capture of Mariupol in the coming days).

Really if Russia only takes Donbass and gets Crimea recognized, it will be a victory for them, but so was the Winter War, and I predict if that does happen most will view it as a less bad Winter War, a war Russia expected to be a cake walk, and one they ultimately got what they (maybe) wanted out of it, but at a much heavier toll than they expected.

I just hope it does happen so Ukraine still exists as a nation.

At this point I don't think there's any possibility of Crimea or the separatist zones being recognized by Ukraine or anyone else who hasn't already without Russia pacifying Kiev and a lot of western Ukraine, possibly all the way to the borders with NATO to control land routes into the country. As it stands its just way to easy for the Ukrainians to keep them occupied and keep loosing more lives and equipment.

And if they fail to get any concessions and have to settle for "securing" Donbass I don't know how anyone could call that anything other than a failure. They would have achieved nothing compered to before the invasion other than slightly more control over a few bombed out cities. I'd imagine the "de-nazification" line would even be a hard sell to otherwise supportive Russians who will look at the state of cities like Mariupol compered to how it was during the Nazi scourge and the massive numbers of refugees fleeing those areas and going to Russia who were previously content to stay before.

I still stand by my original interpretation of their shit performance that this a massive intelligence failure, it started as not so much as a planned out military operation but as a coup/glow-op that failed and everything since the first few days has been them winging it.

I don't think Russia cares who recognizes it. Crimea is Russian's no matter what Ukraine says.
Lugansk and Donetsk have locals who are pro-Russian that have already shown their willingness to kill Ukrainians so I don't think Russia is worried about Ukrainian uprising in those regions. I am expecting that Russia will control those areas even if no one else updates their political maps.

I don't know the nuances but slav-nazi sympathy is different than everywhere-else nazi sympathy but yeah it says a lot. I imagine holocaust hysteria has ironically contributed to the longevity of terminal bad guy syndrome.

They are trash. No filtering so spurs all over. Front end as wide as a barn door so desense/overload is a big problem.
If I was going to ship out and needed a good analog radio with FPP I would at the very minimum spring for the Taliban's favorite: ICOM

The Chechen's are also using civ radios but at least they are using something decent. Motorola TRBO radios which gives them reliability and AES265 encryption. Plus the normal modern DMR shit like being able to kill lost radios, text messages, emergency button, etc

It was all part of the plan that's been going on since the late 1800s and already brought on two World Wars. Hitler was just the next step after dismantling the German Empire, which was one of the only major obstacles to Marxism infecting just about every institution in the West. He's still relevant because his whole plan was destabilizing Europe for the rest of the forseeable future, and getting a whole generation of multiple countries killed in the process. That's some of the darkest irony in how hard SJWs rant about ebul Nazis. One of the most important figures of their whole Cultural Marxist progressivist cause was Hitler himself.

I think it has to lock for the literal green light and for the ride to function. I think it was just not pulled in as tight as it should have been and he was too fat for the ride, as you say.
Personally, I always pull those things as tight as possible because part of my brain goes over every way things can go wrong and I can die on those rides. @76LD910 's story about the ship ride is similar to a childhood experience of mine where I felt like I was actually going to die from slipping off the ride because I was so small.

They have to hold it though. At this point Zelensky is riding this tiger as much as Putin. Ukraine has won the battle for Kiev and is on the cusp of winning the Battle of Kharkiv too. The south and east is going poorly, but zelensky can't agree to end the war right now. Not after two major victories in the North.

Russia has to consolidate its gains in the South, and they will have to do so against an inevitable Ukrainian counter offensive. One that has already started around Kherson. There is also the issue of the Ukrainian forces that have been placed in Odessa. If the Russian assault on that city does not go foreword, as seems likely at this point, then those forces are free to head east and attack the Kherson line from its left flank. Mariople also continues to be a festering sore in this theater sucking up huge numbers of Russian troops.

Russia may yet still gain these areas, but Ukraine is going to make a play for taking them back in the coming days and weeks.

As a number of people here living on the other side of the old Iron Curtain have said, Naziposting in Eastern Europe tends to be less towards the connotation of "fuck the Jews" and more "fuck Russia". Since the Soviet Union really bore the brunt of Hitler's shitfit, they have a much more... personal scar over Nazis than the west does. The problem is that despite the difference in tone, there seems to be a similar level of hysteria over it. In the same way that somebody in the US asking why we throw so much money at Israel for no apparent benefit is immediately branded a Nazi, anyone suggesting that maybe Russia should stop bashing its own head in with a hammer for a single solitary second gets the same treatment there.
