President Joe Biden on Tuesday said that the United States will impose sanctions “far beyond” the ones that the United States imposed in 2014 following the annexation of the Crimean peninsula.

“This is the beginning of a Russian invasion of Ukraine,” Biden said in a White House speech, signaling a shift in his administration’s position. “We will continue to escalate sanctions if Russia escalates,” he added.

Russian elites and their family members will also soon face sanctions, Biden said, adding that “Russia will pay an even steeper price” if Moscow decides to push forward into Ukraine. Two Russian banks and Russian sovereign debt will also be sanctioned, he said.

Also in his speech, Biden said he would send more U.S. troops to the Baltic states as a defensive measure to strengthen NATO’s position in the area.

Russia shares a border with Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

A day earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered troops to go into the separatist Donetsk and Lugansk regions in eastern Ukraine after a lengthy speech in which he recognized the two regions’ independence.

Western powers decried the move and began to slap sanctions on certain Russian individuals, while Germany announced it would halt plans to go ahead with the Russia-to-Germany Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

At home, Biden is facing bipartisan pressure to take more extensive actions against Russia following Putin’s decision. However, a recent poll showed that a majority of Americans believe that sending troops to Ukraine is a “bad idea,” and a slim minority believes it’s a good one.

All 27 European Union countries unanimously agreed on an initial list of sanctions targeting Russian authorities, said French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, and EU foreign affairs head Josep Borell claimed the package “will hurt Russia … a lot.”

Earlier Tuesday, Borell asserted that Russian troops have already entered the Donbas region, which comprises Donetsk and Lugansk, which are under the control of pro-Russia groups since 2014.

And on Tuesday, the Russian Parliament approved a Putin-back plan to use military force outside of Russia’s borders as Putin further said that Russia confirmed it would recognize the expanded borders of Lugansk and Donetsk.

“We recognized the states,” the Russian president said. “That means we recognized all of their fundamental documents, including the constitution, where it is written that their [borders] are the territories at the time the two regions were part of Ukraine.”

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Putin said that Ukraine is “not interested in peaceful solutions” and that “every day, they are amassing troops in the Donbas.”

Meanwhile, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday morning again downplayed the prospect of a Russian invasion and proclaimed: “There will be no war.”

“There will not be an all-out war against Ukraine, and there will not be a broad escalation from Russia. If there is, then we will put Ukraine on a war footing,” he said in a televised address.

The White House began to signal that they would shift their own position on whether it’s the start of an invasion.

“We think this is, yes, the beginning of an invasion, Russia’s latest invasion into Ukraine,” said Jon Finer, the White House deputy national security adviser in public remarks. “An invasion is an invasion and that is what is underway.”

For weeks, Western governments have been claiming Moscow would invade its neighbor after Russia gathered some 150,000 troops along the countries’ borders. They alleged that the Kremlin would attempt to come up with a pretext to attack, while some officials on Monday said Putin’s speech recognizing the two regions was just that.

But Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin told reporters Tuesday that Russia’s “latest invasion” of Ukraine is threatening stability in the region, but he asserted that Putin can “still avoid a full blown, tragic war of choice.”

Palmer is the cat in that analogy and Biden is the lap. As I said before Biden is a war criminal by his own standards and definitions. Hell at this point it’s a dead horse it wouldn’t surprise me if people like this now would of cheered on the Iraq war back in 03
Yeah I'm pretty sure if this was Trump. Palmer would be calling him a war criminal. I just love seeing people pull 180s

If this is actually true than it might be the single most peak Russian thing imaginable. Also imagine being the general who was in charge of that depot, slowly watching the active service shit getting whittled down and knowing soon they're gonna come looking to use the shit you've been systematically screwing.

Probably not stolen per se but scavenged to fix/maintain whatever they're using right now. And yes, it's extremely Russian of them.

Considering how the corruption in Russia reached peak levels, I believe the reports. It coincides with what we've already seen and heard: Ukrainians finding expired rations and 30-year-old shells inside Russian tanks, Russian vehicles breaking down, they really just left these things to rot in the shelves until the war began, didn't they?

The lolcows of the Daily Stormer keep coming about Ukraine and one group of (((white people))).
Russian Jew terrorist Yulia Ioffe Says the War on Russia is About Gay Sex and Destroying Christianity

Whenever I see anything from Russian Jew Bolshevik terrorist and fake journalist Yulia Ioffe, I always think of that time she faked an email from me.

I have to say, through that entire 3-4 year period where I was constantly in the media, that was probably the weirdest thing that ever happened to me. It certainly was not the most troublesome or sadistic – that would be the nonstop targeting of my family.

But her posting that fake email was just like “wait, what? What even is this?”

Anyway, obviously since all of those think-tank papers were published about how I was exploiting the media for my own purposes, the media no longer covers me, because they just assume everything I say is one microscopic cog in my catastrophic plan.

It’s been nice not having the media cover me. Despite what many people who have no idea what they’re talking about will assert, I never got any readership because I was attacked by the media. I did make the media look stupid, which was fun, but I’ll tell you – being on the media constantly isn’t really something you want. I guess some people think they want that, but really you just end up feeling like that song Eminem wrote whining about being famous.

With Thousands of Christians Dying in the Ukraine, John Hagee Demands Even More Money for Jews

Jews are the single wealthiest group of people on the planet, by a lot.

But, according to John Hagee, the wealthiest people in the world need money from old Christian boomers who watch Fox News to get the Jews out of the Ukraine. American Christians have to give $20 million to the Jews.

Of course, one could always ask why it is that the Jews are the only group of men allowed to leave the Ukraine – the Ukraine’s Jewish president has said that all Christian men must stay and fight and die in his Jewish war against Christian Russia.

Seems pretty unfair. It also implies Jews are really cowardly scum. I mean, they claim to be members of our nations, and will have a total freakout if you say they are not loyal to the Christian countries they reside in, but then if there is a war, they flee to Israel while forcing Christians to stay and die.
Note then John Hagee disactivated the comments and I guess there might be more dislikes than likes in the video he posted.

Makes me really wonder about its nuclear capacity and maintenance. Could you imagine a doomsday scenario and half of the fucking RS-28' Sarmats just explode trying to launch out the silo?

I find it hard to believe that the military industrial complex isnt doing its best to keep peace talks off the table
The military industrial complex has nothing to do with that. What's keeping peace talks off the table is that there is nothing to talk about. Both sides have irreconcilable war aims that are mutually exclusive. Ukraine will never give up territory or its ability to make decisions about its own diplomatic future. Russia will never give up those demands. As long as Putin is running the show, negotiations are pointless.

Next one should be Georgia. The troops in Ossetia have been known to be withdrawn and sent to Ukraine
It should be made clear that this isn't just a Russian claim that Azerbaijan is violating the ceasefire either. The Americans and the French are on the same page and also agree that Azerbaijan is violating the ceasefire agreement.
Huh, you don't see that kind of unity very often...

Found a video on youtube, most of the clips are not from Ukraine but from Azerbaijan (maybe, who the fuck knows) it's all old tho so, yeah.

yeah, that was Azeris, Armenians getting toasted. I was really curious how much this costs, it seems like in some cases they are literally targeting a couple of guys in a trench, those must be some really expensive dudes. You can probably hit them with mortar or long range artillery fire.

Azeri's bought 360mil deal.

Poland went for $400mil, 24 drones and it seems like Latvia is next in line.

I tried to find the cost, the drones themselves are fairly cheap, 1-2mil each. There are control systems that probably cost more. No idea on Bozok (seems like the most common laser guided missile) cost. I believe each Grad type rocket is about $1000 / pop. 152mm older gaubitsa shell was about $800, not sure on mortars, but shit, war is not cheap.

Here is a list of what some munitions go for in US military: https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zo...air-launched-missiles-and-bombs-actually-cost

$100k doesn't seem to buy much. Cheapest 500# dumb bomb (drop and forget) is still $4000 ... and holy shit, sidewinder air-air is half a mil each ... I'll never see another dogfight video the same again.

Something else I overheard from Bellingcat dude talking in an interview, fairly large number of bombs dropped by Russians failed to detonate. Need some references on stats, but NATO was commenting that 30-67% of launched rockets failed to hit their targets (assuming there was a rational guess what the intended target was)

I don't think that we'll see anything until war in Ukraine dies down. Georgians have a lot of people in Ukraine, which probably getting good training in the process. I also wander if some Javelins "walk" after the war with Georgians ... how hard could it be?

1.7k likes v 180 dislikes on the Hagee thing, not a ratio, although non hate thinkers probably still get dislikes edited out as the Youtube sees the dislikes and the plug in is easy to get.

Depends on how the war would end. If there's still a chance for the Russian launching another invasion in the future, or they lost territories to the separatists, Ukraine probably would choose to keep the toys instead

Pretty much, which was kinda expected for a lot of it, because realistically the Russian plan to stick thousands of obsolete t-72s in storage was always dumb as fuck. The real shocker was how badly maintainted their newer, and theoretically active shit has been.

The TB-2 mainly uses the MAM series of smart munitions. I've seen estimates that the MAM-L which is the middle child of the series costs around ~25k. The much smaller MAM-C which is probably most of what is hitting the infantry is probably <10k, which is a steal. Sure not as cheap as artillery rounds etc, but still not bad for the effectiveness.

You can probably hit them with mortar or long range artillery fire.
That's assuming you have mortars or artillery in place. The TB-2 has a range of ~150km and the munitons have ranges of 8km/15km/30km depending on model on top of that. Meanwhile most 155mm howitzers are in the 20-30km range, maybe doubling that if you have access to RAPs.

So are you seriously telling me that they are not gaining a fortune with all of this? Legit asking here.
Whether or not they gain a fortune is irrelevant. Neither side wants to talk. Ukraine wants to reclaim all its territory, and the Russian side doesn't even see Ukraine as a proper country. Zelensky tried to reach a compromise and said that Ukraine won't join NATO and that he'll recognize the breakaway provinces, but Putin remained silent, so he reneged on that and continued to fight.

How you know thats true?

Edit: Again, Im legit asking, these arent trick questions. We see desinformation from both sides.
