I don't think anyone actually read that paper to approve it. I have no doubt that he'd be able to defend it. He has clearly read a fuck load of research on the topic and could answer any question. But the poor structure does make it almost incomprehensible. He introduces literature one after the other without discussion, and then offers a brief discussion at the end. Like after 20 pages of nothing but regurgitating other studies he says, "I defend the view that language is a form of genetic inheritance that shapes perceptions and agency. I do not think memes exist, but that does not affect my argument"

And it's very nice that you defend the view. Really great. It'd just be like, a thousand times stronger of a paper if you discussed how the evidenced showed that instead of just saying "I defend the view". And then there's the...joke? Is it a joke? Nobody read this paper.
