May was nice to Alice. When alone together May wasn’t trying to molest or rape her and there was no drugs and alcohol. May probably seemed like a “normal” friend to Alice. May was pregnant and obviously confided her fears to Alice about Ralph. Alice felt like they might be real friends.

This part of the story is strangest to me. Alice doesn't specifically mentions that he dropped her home, just that she woke up there. Is it possible she called an uber or something? I think people imagine her "blacked out" to mean she passed out. Maybe she did for some period of time but she wasn't passed out sucking gunt's pinky and there's no chance in hell Gunt carried passed out unconscious girl in his car, drove her home, left her in some room and her bag in bathroom. Alice did those things more less consciously, maybe she asked him to drive her home, can be she just forgot her phone being wasted and all, and left her bag in the bathroom when she went to pee. As I understand it she doesn't remember how she got home.

And god only knows what else happened during her black out, maybe she threatened Ralph, started a fight, had some alcoholic meltdown or whatever that actually made Gunt get off his fucking lazy, drunk ass and forced him to make an effort to actually drive her home. Even then I imagine Ralph calling an uber rather than to drive her himself. If Alice was passing out, she had to be awake to walk to the car and in her house and what not. Gunt did not carry an unconscious girl. Alice eventually woke up with alcohol induced amnesia. I don't know how she ended up home but more importantly why she got home in the middle of the blackout drunk night rather than to wait it out til the morning what most people would do.
