Ironically Trump's tweets were far "crazier" than his actual words as delivered in speeches. He'd tweet something crazy then go to the podium to "back off his statement". From personal experience, you are correct. I'll spoiler as to not disrupt the thread.

I visited my mother in September of last year. She was 86. She had some dementia issues going on prior to that, but wouldn't admit to or seek any treatment for what was going on. Definite sundowning; she'd be fairly sharp in the morning and she'd go on and on with some arcane story from the past, but couldn't remember if she'd fed the cats, taken her meds, or even what day it was.

She was late Stage 3 dementia (by my personal knowledge and observations) in Sept. Biden is currently early Stage 3 in my estimation and that's being treated by the best with the best available.

In November, she took a fall and we had no choice but to put her in long term care. Stage 3 had morphed to Stage 4. She no longer recognized us without lots of effort on our part. She didn't even realize she was in long term care; she thought she was at work. January came and she totally crashed. Wouldn't eat, aggresive and had to be strapped into bed a few times, incontinence, severe weight loss. She passed on Feb. 1 this year.

That was a span of less than 6 months. Having lived that, I'd agree with you that Biden has MAYBE a year until he hits Stage 4. It's something that no one can stop and once Stage 4, things spiral downward very quickly.

The fact that they are still propping him up at this point in the game is nothing but elder abuse. It's disgusting.

I'm not sure he -can- hit 15% approval. Low twenties is the absolute minimum, more likely low thirties.

The border is an.... interesting conundrum. The steady influx of illegals provides the Democrats a supply of steady voters whenever those illegals have kids who grow up. Sure some will become successful and trend right, but most will be beholden to their illegal relatives who will only be protected from deportation by the Democrats.

Here's the thing. This is a very delicate balancing act. The Democrats cannot offer too much success or too much protection, or the strongly Christian Hispanic communities begin to drift right as their worries assuage. The Democrats need them hopeful enough to keep going, but oppressed enough to never leave their reservation.


So bring them all over, right?

No.

You see, that delicate balance is easy to upset. In order to maintain it, outside interference -must- be kept out. The problem is that the more people spill over and the more things deteriorate, the more there is a desire to do -something.

And it doesn't matter what that something is. It -will- destroy that balance.

If it is good, they feel more secure and drift right. If it is bad they lose hope, have less kids, some go back to their countries. Or just sit out politically.
