He was out on bail with the case still pending and was posting from Mick's place up until the end of December. The court case is still pending now because the judge is trying to determine if Shadman is faking insanity to stay out of jail or if he really is a nutter.
He's probably still considered incompetent and so has no business being in the courtroom. The fact he's still in there means it's probably not just a matter of detoxing him off whatever dope he was on because that would have been done a long time ago. And he could be malingering of course.

A while back on the thread it was pointed out several times that the 'heroin' was a case of mistaken identity of a very bad photo of an old phone case. Shadman was never on heroin.

the other patients are probably the best thing about it. some of them are chill but it’s the treatment from the staff that’s the worst.
You're completely right; I've seen nurses argue and medication given very late (10:30, way past the required lights out) and patients are guinea pigs for medications.

I felt like I was the only one pointing all this out for most of the thread, but your explanation is far more elegant, what gave it away for me was his blurry pictures of cigarettes and garbage crammed into holes in the walls and windows, the state of his room was like a meth den.

This honestly sounds like a crock of shit, the dude didn't "die", the brain damage altered his personality. If by that you mean he "spiritually died" then sure I guess, he's not the same as he used to be.
I would pin his schizophrenia at around the point he stopped making cartoons, makes sense.
I agree with everyone who says Stamper's story is too sad for a thread, dude had talent and skills and now he's a burnout. Do we have actual confirmation he's a real schizophrenic? Like a medical diagnosis, or are we just diagnosing from the armchair.
Stamper right now is in rehab and his ma is helping him out, hopefully he can rise above his fall.
Stamper was the most public and accessible figure for the Newgrounds/Sleepycabin in group, he had a Facebook page he would add his fans on, his decline was gradual but occasionally you’d see him tweak out extensively. I didn’t archive anything because I just wasn’t thinking about it, but he was exhibiting signs of someone rapidly losing touch with reality, Oney actually responded about a year ago to accuse him of doing meth. Someone probably archived that, it was too juicy to miss. He had a girlfriend who I think left him, it’s a tragedy because Stamper was among the most talented creators on Newgrounds in the Golden Age.
The question will be whether or not he can avoid relapsing.
