Nah, this is real. What we've just seen is celebrities as they really are, unscripted. Most of them are cringe and dumb without their managers or scriptwriters telling them what to do or say. You think Will Smith is really Ali? Nah. He's a man whose wife not just cucked him, but publicly humiliated him too because of it, and he can't do shit about it because he's Will Smith™ and he needs to keep his career and image going. The real persona is the man who punches like a girl and it's likely having a mental meltdown in front of us. Basically what Britney Spears went through, except Will is a man and nobody cares about his mental health. Jada obviously doesn't.

Same for Chris Rock, but the opposite in his case. He's a bit more grounded and he was smart enough to not escalate the situation and keep it cool. That's why many think it's staged, it's all Rock acting like a normal person, perhaps for the sake of Smith more than his own.

And years ago, Chris Rock made fun Smith's wife about slavery
He made fun of her due to his boycott of the Oscars. He implied she was being ridiculous with it. And he was right.

What are the chances this effects Will Smith's career?
(Assuming it was unscripted, of course)
I don't think we will see a change, it's a small event and it will be forgotten once the next media cycle starts up. Maybe it will turn into a media circus if Chris sues or a DA presses charges, but who knows. Besides Will's career has been on a slow downward trajectory anyway so if it did affect him it would be hard to notice.

Out of curiosity, do Scientologists have rules against divorce or therapy or anything like that?

Rock won't press charges, according to LAPD twitter.

Why I say real: they would absolutely script this for a PR stunt but they would never intentionally allow the confusion and beats of dead air that followed.
No one can convince me that, after all the #oscarssowhite and them sucking up hard to diversity and “praising POC voices” and all that, would the Oscars script out a black man attacking another black man over a joke and expect that to be seen as a proud woke moment or whatever. ESPECIALLY how everyone reacted immediately afterwards, ABC censoring the hell out off it, and that video of Will being taken aside by Denzil Washington and Tyler Perry during the commercial break.

Hell, Will had the same look on his face taht he did during that interview where him being cucked became public knowledge.

Any marriage or divorce issues need to be handled in house with your auditor. Any outside therapy is frowned upon. In Scientology any problem you might have comes down to past sins attached to you from body thetans (although this isn't fully explained until later levels). Everything in Scientology is your own fault at the end of the day, whatever it takes to manipulate you.

Divorce isn't a sin or anything, but that doesn't mean they won't put you through hell if you're contemplating one. This is less about dissuading couples from divorce than to have another thing to hang over their heads and guilt them.

That might explain a few things then.

Yeah I am pretty obsessed with Scientology, and it's all pretty much just the most fucked up and dysfunctional shit. Even for celebrities you don't get much leeway unless you're Tom Cruise level, they'll just grind your bones and take your last cent.

My understanding is that the Smiths are just dabblers and not full members though, so I'm not sure what that means for them. I know they sent their kids to a Scientology school though, which is interesting, because as fucked up as those kids are, it's in a way that is verboten by Scientology as the queer stuff is a major no no.
