I will say, I don’t know where the thread is up there, but I have for some reason been watching numerous Marvel movies, including The Avengers, out of sheer self-pity. After careful analysis, I do believe Redditors went over to Ukraine thinking this would be them. Down to carrying toddler civvies through gunfire, rescuing towns en masse through gunfire, the toe curling one liners through gunfire, and the unrealistically confident team banter in the heat of battle and almost certain death, through gunfire.

Turns out it’s all that, but through missile fire.

And no plot armor, don't forget that part.

Unprotected Russian soldiers disturbed radioactive dust in Chernobyl's 'Red Forest', workers say

Sucks be those guys I guess.

The two Ukrainian workers who spoke to Reuters were on duty when Russian tanks entered Chernobyl on Feb. 24 and took control of the site, where staff are still responsible for the safe storage of spent nuclear fuel and supervising the concrete-encased remains of the reactor that blew up in 1986.

Both men said they had witnessed Russian tanks and other armoured vehicles moving through the Red Forest, which is the most radioactively contaminated part of the zone around Chernobyl, around 100 km (65 miles) north of Kyiv.

Shouldn't armoured vehicles usually be CBRN protected though?
That still gives plenty of opportunity to ingest particles collected by the vehicles' surface though, since I doubt there was any contamination happening.

Sounds like the Russian attitude towards its soldiers getting irradiated remains "fuck em, they won't get cancer while they're still in service"

Edit: the vehicles still can get irradiated, even with protection and might have to be disposed of. Also who knows if the system was active or even working at the time.

This thread is fucking dying, hurry up and get to the compromised treaty so both Pro-Ukrainians and Pro-Russians get mad.
Predict treaty now

My prediction no disarmament but an agreement to not join nato or the eu, Donbas and the other place will be made into puppets( to be annexed via referendum in 4-10 years)
crimia will be recognized as Russian clay( not really but it will say it on paper) ,
show trials for azov and the returning of pows for both sides,
Ukraine can keep all the bombed out shitholes ( a gracious offer by vlad)
returning of citizens to their homeland (with added new separatists)
No or weak agreement not to just start the war again in 4-10 years
Zelenski has to step down and go into exile

The US and Russia have a history of using uninformed soldiers for hazardous tasks without enough PPE.
In case of the US the clean up operations on the test site islands come to mind.
Russia did similar shit with nuclear testing while soldiers were close by (US too) and destroyed all records, so until today no one can claim damages from that...
The US does that too though. Even if the commanding officer was in the wrong, I would at least think the victims would get compensated in case of the US.
Turns out, nope.

Sometimes they can, a few decades later, after a lengthy lawsuit and a congress critter showing a brief moment of benevolence.

To put it this way the men and women who rushed into the twin towers to save people have to constantly fight to keep benefits every 5 ish years.

Crimea recognized as Russia
DPR and LPR recognized and get Donbass
Current Ukrainian government remains in place
No NATO but leaves door open for EU (which may or may not happen depending on how much the EU wants good PR)
Azov and Right Sector disbanded and get show trials in Russia.

This is where it's probably heading, Ukrainian government will never accept regime change unless Kiev is taken.

Do not underestimate this conflict's autism.

@Borscht I'm sorry that you're Russian but I'm curious. It's been a month. You spend lotta time on a niche site, mentioned being a working bee. So your job must be related to the tech industry. How's the conflicting impacting the life of Russians in general and yours in particular? Please tell us without power-levelling.

One thing I've noticed more and more over the last 15 years or so, is that deep down, a lot of people, regardless of their politics, secretly want a dictator. It's only been getting worse over the last few years as well.

It really reminds me of the Roman senate going through the streets going "rejoice we are free again" after they killed Caesar, only to be greeted by silence from the people.
Totalitarianism is the inevitable result of Atheism.

No, I will not stop repeating it.

They now want an ideological and cultural lebensraum.
Catching up on the thread but have to sperg briefly to say how I loathe when people censor the names of social media screenshots. Name and shame people like this as well as allowing others to verify if it's troll-posting or not.

I tried to find this one but it's gone. It may have been a good shitpost that garnered some upvotes, but then it's worth seeing if the upvotes are genuine as well and the subreddit. In this case, wayback machine indicates the one in the search result didn't get anywhere.
