Those firms have mostly done basic consulting or investing, with some products/services that are mostly just bundling up fairly available tech into packages for companies that want to have done something without really looking that far into what's available. That's why there are so many puff pieces and obviously fake attestations out there. I'm not even sure how many are really active; I think only three have shit still up and it seems like only the firm entirely meant for investing does anything. His companies buy stuff from each other and they use that to make it look like they have an expansive client base.

He was the "founder and former CEO" of SOC-SMG but he made his early money doing shitty buzzword consulting for corporations. It's likely he used his network to leverage SOC-SMG into a prominent position, but they also misrepresented just how well they were doing to their partner in SOC-USA, Day & Zimmermann, who sued them over that when they tried to buy SOC-SMG out. He's really just one of those guys who was in the right place at the right time, convinced some people that he knew what he was talking about, didn't do too well but the powers-that-be decided to ignore it because it was embarrassing (same article from before), successfully lied about it to the next guys, and then hopped from startup to startup, probably because people can smell bullshit once you're not doing military contracting during a war. He knows only as much about security as whatever guy he can consult or hire on a one-time deal.
