Why don't Youtube people ever decorate their living space? It's white walls and no decor and everything's stored in the open. I bet there's poop stains on the carpet. Are their bathroom tiles grouted or did they let them naturally "fill in" with dust and hair?

I love watching Hila's expression change the longer Ethan rambles on about his obsessive fantasy to violently murder an intruder with his shotgun.

I remember him talking about this gun before, he mentioned he dropped around $3k on it back when he bought it. It's a semi-auto shotgun with 7 shells so he probably bought a Benelli M4. Very overpriced luxury shotgun, especially if you just needed something simple for home defense, there are hundreds of significantly better priced shotguns for that purpose. It seems like a waste to purchase a Benelli while knowing nothing about shotguns (bullets??) and never shooting it, keeping it locked up at home for the self defense opportunity that'll never come. It's a beautiful gun for aficionados. Seeing as how he owns a Rolls Royce though I'm not surprised he just picked the most expensive shotgun in the category.
The even stupider aspect is that he almost certainly doesn't do proper upkeep. Mix that with him likely not going to a gun range regularly and if he ever has to use that shotgun not only will he likely not hit anything there is a higher than average chance it will outright malfunction on him.

Despite pop cultures continued portrayal of shotties being absolutely devastating, they are actually far more difficult to shoot with any degree of accuracy than a handgun for the ranges you would need for a home invasion (especially a big ass mansion). Not to mention how much more difficult it is to actually get the gun out and ready to shoot.

It would have been smarter to just buy a handgun because they have decent accuracy at the ranges he would need, hold more ammo and are way easier to get out and ready against a home intruder. This is Ethan though, so "smart" is not something he has equipped in his toolset.

Wealth can't buy taste. These people have a super huge mega mansion and not enough interests to fill the walls with things they actually have a passion for or interest in. The only thing they love are money and themselves.

A fucking 3 grand shotgun!? The fuck did he buy?

M4s go for around 2k -now-, a 3k pump shotgun I can't even... Think about it

You can actually see him use it in this video, I'm 99.999999999% sure it's a M1014 because it looked like it had the collapsing stock, but it definitely doesn't collapse or the video is an admission of felony "assault weapon possession", and yes, California is that stupid. With semiauto shotguns, you can have a pistol grip or a collapsing stock, but not both on the same gun. Again, fucking retarded.

For reference, M1014s were the first batch of M4s sold in the USA to civilians which had smooth recoil tubes without the collapsing stock cuts so you get the least comfortable stock available without any of its utility.

IIRC they also have a fixed choke which is honestly the biggest problem with that particular model of M4. The M4 proper is hilarious because it has a very comfortable if long LOP stock and removable chokes so you can take it skeet or trap shooting and put up a nearly identical performance as snobs with 5 digit priced O/Us if you're a good and understand what chokes to use, but with something that had 10 inches less barrel and the wrong sights.

And when those snobs get mad at the range staff for letting hooligans with room clearing guns outdo them on the trap range causing a barrel length minimum to be enforced, you can always buy a barrel extension threaded for "benelli mobile" and do it all over again. :smug:

Edit: When considering the 3K pricetag, remember these particular guns had a custom American flag stamp on the receiver as well as coming with a collapsing stock that works if you have the right recoil tube. That part alone has an MSRP of $600, and I remember that stock alone going for nearly $1000 dollars second hand around ten years ago.

Sorry for going off topic, but watching idubbbz shoot in that video after seeing how much of a pussy he was on the range with Sam Hyde is hilarious.

I can imagine him loading the shells backwards and being in shock as to why the weapon isn't firing. Or he fires it once, misses, and then knocks himself out with the pushback from the weapon.

Kike should have just went full bore and got a Golden Deagle.

He’s been bringing up this shotgun quite a bit lately. He did it in one of the episodes I relayed a few weeks back.

I’m all for firearm ownership, but Ethan’s angry fixation with self-defense and the shotgun is very, very telling. Three explanations for Ethan’s fixation immediately come to mind:
  1. Ethan’s fears are genuine and justified. If he’s receiving frequent, credible and dangerous threats, he should be putting his family and his safety before his podcast and taking this more seriously than whatever he’s doing now (figuratively waving a gun around like a lunatic). If you’re really that worried, put the podcast on hold, move, and keep a low profile for a bit. If you’re wealthy enough, hire private security (possibly unrealistic, not sure what his finances or those costs are like right now).
  2. Ethan’s fears are genuine but totally unjustified. Nobody is making credible threats. Look, it’s reasonable for any internet figure to be at least a little paranoid. What isn’t reasonable is for them to be making constant references to their shotgun and staying awake at night trying to remember the gunsafe combo. If Ethan is paranoid without a good reason, it’s a bad sign for his mental state and he should be taking a break for his own sake and for that of his family. Remove the stressors before you go full schizo.
  3. Ethan is not actually fearful of being attacked, and the recent, frequent thoughts of the shotgun are due to suicidal ideation. This is my theory.
If you’re suicidal, the best thing you can do for yourself (besides getting help) is to make killing yourself more difficult. Yes, anyone can go through with it if they’re sufficiently determined – but most people aren’t. It’s generally a spur-of-the-moment bad decision, which is why there are so many more suicide attempts (people backing out at the end) compared to actual suicides. Now, notice how people don’t attempt suicide with a shotgun – they succeed. Pretty tough to undo your attempt when your brain is splattered on the wall.

We all know he won't, but Ethan should get offline for the sake of himself and everyone around him. His refusal to do this leads to some fun lolcow moments, but I’d rather he not kill himself, you know? There are way worse terminally online cows out there than Ethan. I mean, it's not like he's Lowtax.

Yet.

The irony of course is that if Ethan did actually use his precious M1014 in self defense there's no way in fuck he's getting it back even if he never sees charges. He lives in LA.

One of the recurring themes of California gun ownership is that if you have the bad luck to get a gun seized by law enforcement while in a deep blue shithole for pretty much any reason, you'll spend easily 3 times if not more than the cost of the gun suing to get it back.

Buy something less limited edition for your bed-gun buddy.

King Lardass has more money than sense. He wants to loudly proclaim how much money he has by throwing it around, not at all aware of how much of a douchebag that makes him look instead. It's like a noble who wants a fancy dragon-slaying sword and has all of these options for ornate sabers, but then turns his nose up at a bearded axe or greatsword. A coach gun/sawn-off would be miles easier to maintain, use and handle. You can't really fuck them up unless you're a heavy-handed brute... but to many, especially would-be gun enthusiasts, view them as brutish and simple. When it comes to a gun, especially for self-defense as he oh-so-proclaims, function over form will be the deciding factor every time.

Not to mention his attitude. Guns are a responsibility you don't fuck around with. The way he talks about it, bet it makes him feel powerful, like his pale, flabby body can take on the world.

Its not an M1014 in the video. The one in the video is a pump. And yeah, no semiauto shotguns with pistol grips allowed in Cali, and Ethan ain't buying out of Deshawn's trunk.
