I understand the one (1) Russian guy but i don't get why the rest of you seem to see this as some sort of war against the iluminat, sounds like a fat cope from the outside. I would understand if you (some of you) were hoping for the end of globalization because you hate niggers or whatever but the downright shizoid takes are a bit much.

I wanted to grill the other side a bit but i really don't have anything to smear them with, they're civil, they don't glee at pictures of corpses, they post actual information instead of tiktoks. Less jokes there too.

That tiny gap between Taiwan and the mainland on a map is 100 miles of open water that leads directly onto the western coast which is densely packed with several cities the size of Kiev all the way from top to bottom, and we'd have weeks if not months of warning to prepare.

I'm certain that no one has been made happier by how these events in Ukraine have gone down than Taiwan and all the military planners in that region that might have had to respond to an attempt on the island, in fact agents of the Taiwanese goverment have already said as much. They now believe that any potential attack has been delayed for years after seeing how easily the US and others saw this invasion coming and how catastrophic a massive amphibious invasion directly into major metro areas could go considering how long its taking Russia to consolidate shit tier cites right on their border with months of preparation.

If Taiwanboos have convinced themselves of that, they're dumb. China wouldn't fight the same way as Russia. To start, they'd create some political excuse to blockade the island and demand some form of surrender, while Chinese assets embedded in Taiwan quickly updated their intel on the locations of Taiwanese defense hardware and troop positions.

Should the Taiwanese government refuse to surrender, the invasion would begin with sustained missile, rocket and artillery strikes to wipe out most Taiwanese defensive capabilities within 48 hours. There will be almost nowhere to hide. The ROC air force and navy would cease to exist in that 48 hours. Some AA can be saved by turning off the radar and hiding, but most will be lost in an attempt to resist the air attack.

Then China has two main options: physically invade now, or maintain a naval blockade and air strikes until Taiwanese decide they love Xi. Depending on how cruel they're feeling, they could easily deny 24 million people on the island food, electricity and water until they're more receptive. There will be no relief, any US carrier group or Jap task force sailing close enough to Taiwan to enter the fight would be well within range of multiple overlapping Chinese defense layers.

The boots on the ground operation itself would be the last resort only undertaken after maximum carnage has already been delivered to the ROC military, it's not easy crossing 100 miles of strait and landing troops and armor on contested beach. Lots of E-1's will be sacrificed for China. But they'll do so with complete control of the air and sea, precision strikes against holdouts, and Chinese fifth columnists causing maximum chaos on the island. It's not gonna be a fair fight, and no amount of preparation and planning can change the outcome unless Taipei gets nukes or something.

as someone with zero investment in either side at all, I have to say this thread feels just as full of both and there's nothing that feels 'reluctant' about the pro-Ukrainian side whatsoever. they'd do the propaganda machine every bit as proud as the Russian side. but I do stick to this thread tbh, because the other thread likes to do nothing but quote western media articles and western-favored sources. in here I actually get both sides, official and non-official, plus feels balanced enough of both sentiments with a ton of Ukraine stans constantly 'raiding' the place and the resident disliker's diligent efforts.

I'd say it's very simple. If you are pro-Russia and Russian offence has gone nowhere in 38 days it's easy to see why somebody gets angry.

He can't stop selling gas to Europe. 74% or Russian gas flows to Europe. They don't have infrastructure to pipe it elsewhere. They cant store it, they cant clog the sources. Both sides pretty much cant stop this agreement.
