President Joe Biden on Tuesday said that the United States will impose sanctions “far beyond” the ones that the United States imposed in 2014 following the annexation of the Crimean peninsula.

“This is the beginning of a Russian invasion of Ukraine,” Biden said in a White House speech, signaling a shift in his administration’s position. “We will continue to escalate sanctions if Russia escalates,” he added.

Russian elites and their family members will also soon face sanctions, Biden said, adding that “Russia will pay an even steeper price” if Moscow decides to push forward into Ukraine. Two Russian banks and Russian sovereign debt will also be sanctioned, he said.

Also in his speech, Biden said he would send more U.S. troops to the Baltic states as a defensive measure to strengthen NATO’s position in the area.

Russia shares a border with Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

A day earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered troops to go into the separatist Donetsk and Lugansk regions in eastern Ukraine after a lengthy speech in which he recognized the two regions’ independence.

Western powers decried the move and began to slap sanctions on certain Russian individuals, while Germany announced it would halt plans to go ahead with the Russia-to-Germany Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

At home, Biden is facing bipartisan pressure to take more extensive actions against Russia following Putin’s decision. However, a recent poll showed that a majority of Americans believe that sending troops to Ukraine is a “bad idea,” and a slim minority believes it’s a good one.

All 27 European Union countries unanimously agreed on an initial list of sanctions targeting Russian authorities, said French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, and EU foreign affairs head Josep Borell claimed the package “will hurt Russia … a lot.”

Earlier Tuesday, Borell asserted that Russian troops have already entered the Donbas region, which comprises Donetsk and Lugansk, which are under the control of pro-Russia groups since 2014.

And on Tuesday, the Russian Parliament approved a Putin-back plan to use military force outside of Russia’s borders as Putin further said that Russia confirmed it would recognize the expanded borders of Lugansk and Donetsk.

“We recognized the states,” the Russian president said. “That means we recognized all of their fundamental documents, including the constitution, where it is written that their [borders] are the territories at the time the two regions were part of Ukraine.”

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Putin said that Ukraine is “not interested in peaceful solutions” and that “every day, they are amassing troops in the Donbas.”

Meanwhile, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday morning again downplayed the prospect of a Russian invasion and proclaimed: “There will be no war.”

“There will not be an all-out war against Ukraine, and there will not be a broad escalation from Russia. If there is, then we will put Ukraine on a war footing,” he said in a televised address.

The White House began to signal that they would shift their own position on whether it’s the start of an invasion.

“We think this is, yes, the beginning of an invasion, Russia’s latest invasion into Ukraine,” said Jon Finer, the White House deputy national security adviser in public remarks. “An invasion is an invasion and that is what is underway.”

For weeks, Western governments have been claiming Moscow would invade its neighbor after Russia gathered some 150,000 troops along the countries’ borders. They alleged that the Kremlin would attempt to come up with a pretext to attack, while some officials on Monday said Putin’s speech recognizing the two regions was just that.

But Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin told reporters Tuesday that Russia’s “latest invasion” of Ukraine is threatening stability in the region, but he asserted that Putin can “still avoid a full blown, tragic war of choice.”

No, it's the Globohomo cabal that is the cancer, and Russia is fighting it.
Fight with what? An army of drunk sodomites who unquestioningly obey a big government that is so corrupt and absolute, it makes the US government look like Amsterdam?

No, there's a semi-unitary, semi-cohesive unit of global unified class interest but not in the way he thinks. And the fact that big capital is using transgenderism and homosexuality to their end doesn't mean they intend to make everyone into a sissy boy.
Not to mention the fact that these alt-right hooligans accuse these government elites of "white genocide", but the same western government elites once did try to get the native white Europeans to breed with monetary incentives. It was only when such incentives failed did they turn to bringing in Africans and Middle-Easterners to bridge the population gap and bump up their replacement rates.

What are the Putin simps talking points now since Ukraine hasn't fallen in 3 weeks as they predicted?
-Putin is holding back and not using full force because he's a humanitarian who cares!
-Putin is playing 4D-chess and he's got some plan that we mortals can't comprehend!
-GLOBOHOMO IZ BAD, GUYZ!

Pretty much. God knows how many people are going to wind up sick just from initial exposure, how much valuable equipment is going to need to be scrubbed clean or just abandoned due to being too dirty, and how many people are going to wind up sick or worse since of course the Russians are going to lie to the clean-up crews and have them use improper or no safety measures or equipment because that would require admitting they fucked up in the first place by not telling their people about how dangerous Chernobyl was.
It's tragic. They're going to lose more people to this radiation exposure, but all losses will be more than likely swept aside as fake news, because not only do they have to tow the party line, but also keep up morale. Which means that more soldiers will die without their parents having any closure. Maybe the Russians will just make things up and say the Ukrainians killed them, or used chemical or radiation weapons against them, instead of just telling the truth. Which will, in turn, fuel more bad blood between Ukraine and Russia, as if they didn't have enough bad blood from the start.

It is probably a reasonable bit of kit, but it seems a bit like the Germans are doing the minimum to avoid any gas delivery issues. It seems close to tokenism. The NVA were one of the best of the Warsaw Pact forces, but that was a little while ago.
those vehicles have not been maintained for a couple of decades and there is a god chance that there is still some old fuel in some of those because nobody in germany or sweden ever bothered with looking at them.

government elites once did try to get the native white Europeans to breed with monetary incentives.
To be fair, these incentives were weak from the start. Capital wants to have ever-increasing profit margins while paying the peons less and less. What could be a better solution than to import people from even bigger shitholes, who would see their new country as a blessing?

The pseudo-socialist governments of Europe give more welfare money and services to their own people more so than the Americans. It's not that hard to pay for welfare when you barely have to pay for military expenses because Uncle Sam does most of that shit for you.

It's just that, as Pope Paul VI warned, allowing for contraception (and by extension, abortion) will lead to population decline. People almost always choose contraceptives over childbirth, because the former gives you the joy of sex without the hassle of raising kids. So even when the governments were begging the people to breed, they didn't, because free sex with contraceptives feels great, while taking care of children is a hassle. Hence the great population drop in Europe, and the governments compensating for it by bringing in third-worlders.

Ukrainian people welcoming liberators
It really goes to show how much the Ukrainians hate Russia more than they hate their own government. Sinking any Russiaboo's argument that the Russians were "liberators".

Hopefully, they don't repeat the same mistakes Russia made when mobilizing their tanks.

Imagine anyone who lived in the former Soviet Union and knows who Zhirinovski or Volodin or Gref is to not laugh at the notion that Russia is fighting "globohomo".

EHL OH EHL.
They only see Russia from the outside, not the inside. People from Russia who left the country are mystified when they meet American conservatives who simp for Putin as if he was their pimp-daddy. When in reality, Putin has a big government that conscripts men into an army, said army practices sodomy towards its new recruits, and the leadership in general have a great love for the old Soviet days when they were the big Communist Empire that in their eyes, made the West pee its pants.

Russians are shooting anything that tries to move in and out of Mariupol, so there's no hope of evacuation. Ukrainian helicopter landed to exfiltrate wounded soldiers, and Russians blew it up.

Another ambush, there's been a lot of them. Here you can hear a short exchange between Ukrainian soldiers as they observed the convoy, where they decide to go for the second vehicle, which seems to be a troop carrier

I would disagree with that opinion, considering how tightly regulated European welfare states are and if you go on gibs, you are consigning to any job a job office will find you, in exchange for monetary assistance (and those jobs could be trash).

The welfare state is augmented by taxes, rather than limiting military expenses.

Germany doesn't count, the country has a special case of "guiltitis".

I would disagree with that too, because contraceptives while contributing to the drop in population, are not the sole reason for it. When you remember the crowded conditions your parents raised you in and how much love, that you are supposed to give your offspring, was simply not there, coupled with the constant increase in the price of living will deter you from being as fertile as you could be.

I respect your opinion though.

Well it's been debunked that he's holding back with his troops. As we found out he was sending the best of the best. The Russians just suck like that

they will never see combat, they have to be rebuild for the next year or so in some factory in bohemia.
Germany is doing only the minimum, sending old east german stuff, same for the rockets.

Russia's TikTok regiment arrived with humanitarian aid: https://t.me/nexta_live/24356?single

Except it's looted from Ukrainian supplies, possibly their own humanitarian convoys that were intercepted by Russians. Writings on the packaging are in Ukrainian/of Ukrainian manufacturers.

This one speaks for itself : https://twitter.com/DefenceU/status/1510333131320090633

There's been reports of rape by russian soldiers, some even bragged about it in the intercepted calls, as someone from Kiev told me. You don't have to tell me, with all the other shit they are doing, it's par for the course.
This fills me with all kinds of feelings, and none of them are good.

What is probably more likely is former Warsaw Pact countries will just be sending stocks of T-72s or BMPs they've been looking to get rid of anyway, but don't let me rain on your parade.
Those stockpiles of ex-combloc T-72s & BMPs have already been drained by conflicts of the past 30 years; except for the small caches autistically hoarded by Germany, Czechs, and possibly the Scandinavians, the warehouses crammed full of Soviet tanks & materiel have long been a thing of the past. The things have been burning up fast enough that the demand has always been high.

But in any case, we probably don't have any spare M1s left for Ukraine, having already abandoned them in Iraq & Afghanistan.

I see. But I've been to Western Europe, and most western Europeans live rather comfortable lives. It's not the same as with Eastern Europe where everything was one form of Commie-bloc shithole or something even worse, like modern-day Russia. They can afford to have kids if they wanted to, and if cash came short, their governments were more than eager to help.

Can't say the same about Eastern Europe, though. Maybe that's why Ukraine wanted to get away from Russia so badly that they began to petition to join NATO and the EU. Gotta go where the grass is greener, I suppose.

Well it's been debunked that he's holding back with his troops. As we found out he was sending the best of the best. The Russians just suck like that
This is giving me flashbacks of my studies of European history where the Russians get their butts kicked in by one European power or another. Almost every major success they made, they gained it with allies.

-Defeating Sweden? They had Poland-Lithuania and Denmark backing them.
-Partitioning Poland? They had Austria and Prussia helping them partition Poland like a pizza pie.
-The war with Napoleon? They had Austria, Prussia, and Britain backing them, as well as mother nature being a cruel bitch to the French Army.
-The World Wars? They lost WW1 to Germany despite British and French support, and they would have lost WW2 to Hitler if they didn't get Allied supplies and military aid.

And now Putin thinks he can conquer Ukraine with just Russian help. And his only allies are third-world ex-Soviet states, no major western powers. China is about as reliable as Starscream from G1 Transformers, and India is too far to send troops to help.

I suppose those who do not learn from history are truly doomed to repeat it.
