@Chandelier (reply bug)

What the fuck is this dude talking about. Ukraine just eliminated independent journalism and banned dissident political parties. What fucking political freedoms should the Russian soldiers be seeing if they could?
I am absolutely late to this (IRL issues), but to answer:
Bluechecks have seen higher than usual interaction for the most bullshit claims you can imagine. Even meme compilations of Russians fighting each other in the backwoods have paved roads and telephone poles.

Smaller Twitter accounts are calling out larger OSINT accounts with their bogus claims, but they don't get nearly as much attention or traction. Blue Anon loves anything that shows the Russians as retards.

Anatoly Karlin was blocked by this guy after showing Ukraine was no better off. Billions of dollars for weapons but not for a sewer system that people need. Priorities.

So, here's a rando on twitter claiming a bunch of little girls showed up at a hospital with rape trauma.

Standard disclaimers about unverified claims apply, I'm sure that Putin's Saviors of the White Race are unfaltering beacons of moral behavior.
Can't vouch for every unfaltering beacon of moral behavior out there, but when Ukraine aired video of them shoting prisoners in the knee, Russia escalated the issue all the way to the UN and actually forced Ukrainean officials to pinky promise they won't do it again. If these ten-year girls with anal and vaginal tears exist, I would expect Ukrainean government escalate the issue in a similar manner because this is just as abhorrent, if not more. Much more.

according to the russian side, the entire kiev part of the operation was only ever intended to be a distraction, to pin down lots of ukrainian forces in the northwest in order to prevent them from being deployed in the southeast, which is where the russians real war effort is happening

how much of this is real and how much is cope we can't say for sure
VOR, the guy from the videos I posted, speculates that it was the secondary objective, which became moot when the primary one failed.

Found them :tomgirl:

No, not really. That's not how wars work, or even how RTS computer games work.

Yes.

The Ukies never had the initiative and they don't have it now. Russia pulling some guys away from lightly harassing Kevin, so they can seriously harass the remainder of the Ukie army in Donbass, isn't bad for Russia or good for Ukraine.

Morale is very important, but not as important as air superiority, artillery superiority, and freedom to maneuver. Russia has those last things and the Ukies don't. I expect the Ukie troops trapped in Donbass to fight bravely, but winning isn't on the cards for them and no amount of morale can change that. Hopefully it's not a total bloodbath where they go out guns blazing (something that always appeals to brave young men, but just guarantees you won't live to fight another day), but it's shaping up to be one.

I'm morbidly curious to see what the next level of Ukieboo delusion looks like tho. "ACKSHUALLY, the Russians only killed or captured 60,000 hardened troops in the East and redrew the map of Ukraine but CNN said there's still a gay nightclub in Lvov so you lose Putler :smug:"

Something like that? With friends like these, hohols sure don't need enemies, I'll tell you hwhat.
First of all, managing to take the city housing the seat of the government is extremely important to instate a new regime. Even if it's not required, trying and failing take the city housing the seat of government so drastically reduces the chances of successfully pulling it off on a peace treaty it's not worth talking about.

Secondly I won't call the Donbass troops doomed to death or surrender at this point, shit happens in war, and if you said "The only major cities Russia will control six weeks in will be Kherson and will soon control Mariupol, but they also just had to withdraw from attempts to take Kiev." in the first few days of this thing you would be laughed at and called a Glowie, Ukraine has exceeded all expectations at this point, and until those troops are encircled and the encirclement is secured from breakout attempts, it's far from a sure thing.

Don't forget to get your Happy Meal toy son.
Of course, they're pretty useful for sounding.

I guarantee you the beginning of these threads had people gushing about kiev falling.

Something I find humorous about these maps is the fact that there's so many arrows on the russian territory. Like what's the point in an arrow that just points at another arrow?
The Russian advance has been slow as molasses on nearly every front, and yet they got arrows pointed in directions that haven't been moving in weeks.

One of the most important pieces was cut from the broadcast of the interview with Zelensky.

Host Bret Baier asked Zelensky about the torture of prisoners of war by the Azov battalion, to which he replied: "They are what they are." A simple answer that says a lot.

If you try to find this fragment on the Internet, then you are unlikely to succeed, since everything has been cleaned up. But, as they say, manuscripts don't burn on the Internet.
