I decided to string together all the circumstantial evidence together, and Gerard and his cronies look really, really bad right now, assuming the theory Geth proposed for how he could be banned without anything on the official logs on Reddit is true.

If true, it probably looked like a good way for Gerard et al to get rid of editors they knew they get shit on for simply permabanning by outside forces, and inside, since RationalWiki has always prided itself on making banning an absolute last resort and none of the accounts shadowbanned by having their accounts tampered with were breaking any known RW rules, at least not any worth the worst possible option.

From the perspective of someone in that box, simply scrambling the passwords of the accounts they really wanted to get rid of then banning their IPs at a server level would be the best option, since it would leave no public log entries, no one could ever prove it unless they could examine the database itself, and the only ones with database access obviously have every reason both personal and legal to not simply hand that information over, and they know no one is going to try suing them over this or anything that extreme, not to mention with no logs of a block, they can simply blame user incompetence with passwords and give a boilerplate "did you get X error message".

The only downside is that this has now put a cloud of suspicion over Gerard and anyone involved, which will only get heavier if those accounts never can be re-accessed and especially if Ryulong gets free run of the asylum soon, but I assume, on the line this is true, that Gerard et al figured it was worth the risk to have that suspicion instead of public logs for banning they'd need to explain instead, given all the internal and external backlash that they would get.

I doubt Geth will do that, he acts like he expected it, don't know enough about the others involved to give an opinion, severely doubt it, but just covering all the bases here.

I honestly don't get the appeal of RationalWiki, sure it's a wiki with a large userbase & it's a place for SJWs but from what I've observed, every edit becomes a massive fight that doesn't stop. It looks like a really tedious place to be.

Oh, so two people who cannot stand me want me to consider my "Internet cop" actions, when many others would do the same thing about a sock account of a binned user. This person SAID he was Avenger. I wasn't hallucinating it. He said that after posting a very uncharacteristic WIGO that is VERY Avenger. So, all this lampooning about all the other Avengers is bullshit.
