General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

They have programs to use it, but both Calli and Kiara lack the motion capture suits at home to use it to full extent. Calli was at home without the suit. Her complex motions were all preprogrammed. Like the backslips on the low res 3D models. Kiara too has shown the limited version as well on Twitter and ending a stream. Kiara wants the big debut. She's unfortunately idealized it since before debut, but she's wavering now that it's right within reach. It seems that everyone in Myth is waiting until everyone at the minimum have suits of their own before using it.
After rewatching Calli's stream, seems like you're right, every time she changes her pose the movement looks really stiff.

Now I'm watching Moona's current stream, and it seems like her hand motions are preprogrammed as well? At one point you can even hear her clapping while her model arms remain motionless.

It's been a while since Lui had an English zatsudan.

I've got to hand it to Lui, she was the least popular of HoloX by a pretty big margin after debut (by subscribers and just the least really talked about from what I saw) and I don't think they had nearly as bad of YT shenanigans to blame it on like Sana with Council. Initially she was kind of the dog of an otherwise explosive gen. Nonetheless she hasn't numberfagged or complained a single bit but instead worked her ass off and been nothing but grateful for the opportunity. She's been grinding english to appeal to kaigainiki and pushing herself in collabs from how much I see her popping up all over the place. I'm not a hag love person, but for her I feel she's earned it.

Kiara's Membership stream was supposed to be a gaming/menu making stream. It's turned into a talking/menu making stream:

- Kiara is getting really antsy about 3D. Looking like Japan debut isn't happening in the near future. After July is a growing possibility.
- Her motion capture suit has to be sent to Japan before it gets sent to Austria. There's a good possibility that it will be a repeat of her PS5 situation.
- If the suit doesn't arrive in time, Ame is willing to give Kiara her old suit provided that her new suit arrives. If not she's shit out of luck and might have to rent a studio for her birthday
- Toying with the idea of flying instead to North America and doing it at Ame's house.
- When the suggestion of doing a debut with all the girls in North America instead came up, Kiara said Cover will not allow a debut outside Japan.
- Company will not subsidize for travel or the rental of a studio outside of Japan.
- Kiara never said it out loud but she clearly inferred incompetence at the levels beyond the girls personal management.
- Considering doing a limited 3D performance some time before her Birthday because she hates the idea of having to shelve the 3D after a paywalled performance for several months. Has been reading the comments of those who couldn't afford tickets and feels guilty about it.

As others have said, part of this is just a JP corp being a JP corp, but it also makes sense. For JP members, it is easy for them all to go to the office as they are all in Tokyo or a fairly short day trip on a train away, plus the corp office with everybody else is already there so they have to have an existing physical presence there anyway. For EN, they are spread all over the world. Even if they tried to put it somewhere in NA, most would have to fly in to do anything, and at that point they might as well fly to JP (once it opens up). And since they don't have admin staff outside JP, any office they had would basically be empty for the majority of the time, being a big waste of money.

Too bad some of the EN talents aren't close enough together to pool their money and setup a workspace and/or move closer together. The off-collab followed by seeing a big surge in them moving got many of our rrat'ing hopes up, but so far it seems it was just a coincidence and they weren't planning any sort of secret holoEN house.

I don't think Holo is gonna move to twitch , at most they might have a "every other stream" type schedule , but more likely holo's will get a choice of where to stream on and some will pick twitch over youtube from time to time , maybe cover wants more view interaction and youtube doesnt really allow that.

I'm sure this is just locking down names in case any of them want to do twitch in the future, and getting a consistent company presence, not some big exodus. Frankly I'm surprised "gawrgura" was still available and someone hadn't already snatched it up to sit on it and camp hoping to get a payout.

I always forget I have my free prime subscription since I don't use twitch, so I threw it at gura.

But on topic, I'm listening to Mumei's stream right now. I wish she'd spend more time singing in earnest rather than doing the gimmicky noises, but it's still nice to hear her having fun. When she sings properly she has a beautiful singing voice.

Yeah I agree and that was why I was hoping her plan of pre-recording stuff and then just DJ'ing it would work out. But so far it sounds like her attempts haven't been great. She has talked about trying it a couple times since, but she is her own worst critic. She records something and plays it back and doesn't like something and so is right back where she started. I guess the good part of live karaoke is that she is forced to push through any errors and just keep singing, so she can't dwell on stuff in the moment.

Moona is back and in 3D

That's no moon....

I mean I'm all for them getting that money if they decide to, having twitch channels up and running with emotes alone would get subs. Pretty sure I saw people all over the place say shit like they don't even watch someone like Bahroo but liked the emotes over the years.

Both sites suck shit for different reasons. Youtube is more accessible and the absolute war to create unblockable ads on twitch alone is filtering. On the other hand you can actually see what the fuck emotes even are and the recent addition of animated emotes, but twitch has far more faggots spamming shitty copy/pastas and ascii arts or whatever. Both are trash for DMCA shit and as a big corpo I assume they're still locked into the permissions stuff.

My main issue is just keeping tabs on it all. I miss basically anything Tenma does on twitch. Once she switch Catherine to over there I lost track and gave up. (speaking of, did she play that microphone ps2 game again or whatever it was?)
I'll probably just take twitch broadcasts as an L and watch something else. I also have a personal issue where VoDs on twitch just feel pointless. Maybe I'm retarded but they feel shittier to watch. I'd rather wait for them to show up on youtube a week or two later. Depending on what it is you missed half the point of a stream though.

Did Calli & Monarch talked before at least on twitter?
Calli has at least semi-drunkenly called her before if nothing else according to their call in conversation. So I imagine they've at least interacted off camera some amount.

Also I do imagine Cover is stalling the 3d because as someone I don't recall said, they want control of it a bit and how it plays out. I know Calli during this call in stream was talking about annoying some of the tech workers or something by figuring out how to separate her head from her body while goofing off with Suisei. I believe it was with Suisei anyway, I may recall wrong.
Not that I agree with the need to control it that much. They should just let the girls do stuff if they want, a lot of good stuff has happened from giving Ame and crew some free reign and networking, including an entire mascot style character. (Smol Ame ofc) Scuff is basically part of the EN brand whether Cover likes it or not.

Okay time for some good old Calli doomposting, the debut grows near and with it the all important announcement. Either it's concert tour with some high profile artists or she overhyped it to a comical level, it have to be bigger than acrylic stands or even another album and the fact that her roommate is planning to perform at various places makes it all the more likely.
There are some serious problems with that however, for one after that superchat meltdown in February I don't trust Karen's ability to deal with anxiety and pressure, at least not when she's overworking herself while trying to do multiple things at the same time -something like organizing DDK concerts and events on top of the Mori Calliope ones... Wanna bet she shows up drunk or worse to one of those Q&A sessions at some point?

Apparently Calli even called her at 5 am once because she felt like being friendly or something, she had a little tangent about it. Apparently she's a huge AmaLee fan and inspiration for the latter to start Vtubing and well I can definitely see that. Anyway at least she didn't invite TT dudes for her totsu like Ollie did, all the guests were female which is pretty based.

It would be pretty funny for her to just say f' it and have a simultaneous DDK and Calli world tour. Exact same places and just do a DDK concert one night and Calli the next, then move on to the next town.

Some Niji doujin event. Idk if it is officially partnered with Niji/Anykara, but some people say it's fan driven.

Can't reply to @Rezza directly, but in regards to Ina's membership streams. Ina has spent a year building an environment in her members streams where she doesn't have to play the part of funny artistic eldritch girl. Where she can just sit back, relax, watch a movie, anime or just chat and unwind without having to worry about clipper shit. She's well within her right to want to police her community, so I imagine the idea of having the company arbitrarily open up access to membership to people who have no monetary stake in maintaining the atmosphere she crafted is invasive. Having to tard wrangle a new group of tourists every couple of members streams would be the death of what she made.
It is not like Ina is doing something weird when a lot of holos members streams are like that. Gura especially seems to prefer her members than greyniggers.

Yeah not even one Stars were in it. Very interesting.
Does that bring things back to neutral after liking fanart implying that her fanbase are all cucks?
It just makes it more hilarious because she herself is a cuck.

Or just nuke Twitter off of the face of the Earth. Much better results.

Twitter should be containment like Tumblr was back in the day, but then again, if Twitter lost 70% of it's spergs they'd just populate other spaces.

The Great Porn Ban of 2018 was the cursed seal. It also doesn't help that people act more retarded in anonymous spaces.

ANYWAY

Cover's kinda retarded for not making an EU/US office and keeping onto it's samurai mindset when it comes to 3D debuts. You have an entire english branch that is raking in dough and you're still like "EHH it's not close to us". Plus, having an EU/US office would mean that you would be better able to show off and make sure that your 3D technology or whatever you're pushing (besides idols) is better shown off to investors.

Opening office for English branch is not economical. The effort would be too much for accommodating relatively small number of talents for relatively small amount of time.
Opening office in Indonesia is make sense. The talents lived in the same country. Low operation cost.

If they make, let's say, American branch, then opening office in US is justified.

Yeah, probably cheaper to just pay for their plane tickets to Japan once they are able to do so. I think most people expect PM Kishida to relax on the covid autism by the end of the year.
