The cosplay community is overrun with this. People will set up for rent and bills to be paid via begging but you bet your chapped ass they are at every con within a 5 state radius with the new Tik Tok trending cosplay of the moment.

Some don't even have rent or real bills because they leach off parents. They use the money to FUND their shit tier cosplays and roadtrips.

There's also a huge overlap with sex workers but crimany at least they DO something for the money they get usually.

When confronted on this (usually by people who got suckered in and then get rightfully mad when the money they sent them for xyz life tragedy was spent on body pillows and hotel drinks...they will VERY QUICKLY claim the cons are necessary for their mental health/that they are disabled and this is the only joy they green from life and that denying them that is abelist.

Yes, it's hard being disabled and things really are set up for "able-bodied" people in society. But society doesn’t owe you anything just because you are different from the norm. Not everyone can do everything, and that's okay. Or it used to be.

There are times when discrimination against disabled people is worth fighting for, like when people who don't have disabled parking permits park in labeled spots. Call the cops, because those spots are for people who need them and they are backed by law. It's not exactly hard or expensive to get a permit either if you want to grift. If you're gonna take a spot you don't need, do it the right way.

There are many other times when it's just retarded. Like bellyaching over people saying "handicapped". Apparently that's on par with a hate crime according to Twitter. Bitch, please. Same with not being able to afford a con or Disney or something. You're not special because you're a fucking gimp and neither am I. Get a grip (and a fucking job).

There's very little in life that is actually Ableist. There's a whole lot of whiny disabled and "disabled" people though.

Here's a Mother Jones article about Pulte that discusses his background a little bit. It also shows “proof” of him “giving” someone $10,000. She had to fill out a tax form. That means dude totally benefited financially from donating and she was taxed up the ass for it. (Think Oprah and her "free" cars. if you want or need a comparison.) He is absolutely a fraud. Although I like imagining Shameka or Kyttie’s reactions if they were handed a tax form and forced to pay for whatever buckaroos they got from him. The reeing would be legendary.
