Afghanistan was good training, it was just very expensive as well, you could have spent that money blowing up someone that matters instead
One good thing that came out of it was a massive improvement in the medical department. People who would have died from their wounds at the beginning of the war were able to survive them by the end of it. That knowledge filtered down to civilian hospitals as well. Still, not exactly the ideal way to learn these things.

Usually good training does not cost you... what was the exact cost of the Afghanistan war anyway?
All training is costly, the latest NATO excersise has a bill on several billions of dollars. But yes, the Afghanistan was exorbitantly expensive at 8 trillion dollars as we know of

You could have flattened Russia with that money

Afghanistan was shit where similar ops weren't since you weren't warding off anyone's influence and while you could skim money off the top you also had to pay for the underage boys and private planes the Afghani puppet government needed to stay satisfied. You also had actual troops there who could be killed, which makes for bad headlines.

I can't believe that's a real number.

Yeah the US should have went in with the Russian approach lmao.
Oh are we talking again? You don't have any more little snippets you'd like to post?

I hope Poland initiates an offensive war against Russia so that we never have to deal with your shithole’s insufferable chihuahua yapping ever again.

Sadly you won’t, because Poles know their place is in their master’s lap.
Imagine betting on a wrong horse, your losing horse being war criminal and still being in denial about that.

Military campaign, hark at this burger.

America doesn't do campaigns, it does carpet bombing of enemy infrastructure, mass murder of civilians and attempted occupation which it's horrendously bad at. Where's the skill exactly in dropping thousands of tons of ordinance? US infantry tactics consists of patrolling and calling airstrikes on any Jihadi that so much as looks at them funny. They were two generations ahead in their weapons systems compared to the enemies they chose to fight. It was the equivalent of the British army battling spear chucking tribesmen, and even then they still fucking lost. Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, one humiliating defeat after another. But no one copes harder than a burger so here we are.

Now we're back to proxy wars. America will just pay people to fight their battles, ISIS, Azov no matter, the more psychopathic and bloodthirsty the better, good for the optics.

Burgers need to genuinely get fucked.
In our defense, the vast majority of us are stuck in a bubble where every authoritative source constantly lies to us. That tends to make us heavy on opinions and light on information.

So I've realized what the absolute fucking strangest shit about this war is. The fucking merchandising. I've seen sponsored ads on various social media and web pages for merchandise supporting Ukraine. Usually seems to be the shirts, but I've seen some designer art as well. I recall some of that type of stuff for the war on terror stuff, but nothing to this degree, and certainly not this fast. Even then most of that stuff was commemorative stuff marketed towards vets. It's just odd to see the intersection of consoomer culture and war.

Russia bros in a nutshell

-Why are they not surrendering
-WTF you cant arm civilians
-Zelenskyy is trying to kill his own people
-Russia ackshually owns Ukraine
-Grozny
-Stalingrad
-Defending your country is gay
-The Ruble is stronger than ever even though we don't have a functioning stock market anymore
-The west will collapse they need Russia to survive

It's all so tiresome...

That's not that strange is it though? The war is on the front pages a lot so people try to make a quick buck off it. Always happens with whatever the current thing is. Like how custom face masks popped up during the pandemic.

What did I miss?

Is Zelensky begging for his life in a Moscow Gulag yet?

Did Putin submit to a Globohomo Court about his war crimes that the Real Life Nazis would totally never commit? Because I mean, let's be honest....if Putin doesn't give himself up, they are probably going to have to put a warrant out for his arrest over this.

World Police....Assemble!
I thought we were defunding them?

I stand with defunding the World Police.

Is russia going to scrape their dead off the Ukranian pavement and use super glue to put them back together and redeploy them to Poland?

Hmm, I remember someone got me a poker deck of "Most wanted Saddam Hussein regime" villains for Christmas. At the time, though, that was the kind of thing I think only supporters of one party would have gotten. This current war has bipartisan support in the United States, so I'm not surprised it has a bigger consoomer footprint.
