I think it's more "looking out for number one" if you're old-school, and "fuck you, got mine" if you're cynical. So what you're saying is are world leaders are greedy corrupt pantshitting retards.
It's all "we will be long gone by the time they find out so what are they really going to do about it?"I think it's more "looking out for number one" if you're old-school, and "fuck you, got mine" if you're cynical.
And if they're not gone, they figure they can escape from it all anyway. It's all "we will be long gone by the time they find out so what are they really going to do about it?"
Not high IMO. The US just doesn't go boots on the ground like we used to, instead we back coups and color revolutions. The US tried this in Venezuela when Trump was in office, didn't work so well. Right now the environment is ripe for that sort of thing with the extreme price of fuel and food globally, so expect to see at least a few schemes at this. What are the odds of Europe/USA doing a Putin and invade Venezuela to get "friendly" gas?
Now don't get me wrong, Maduro is a dictator, and not a very competent one, but clearly he must be a democratically elected dictator since Venezuelan elections are secured by Dominion voting machines.
I guess it's a consequence of modern life, it's not only the west but almost every country in this planet. Nowadays, every little thing you use comes from everywhere, like if it was mined in Africa, refined in China, transported trough Europe and so forth. So, if something or some country broke, everything else (products, jobs, people) will also fall apart. The thing that boggles my mind is how, despite globalism only expanding, the quality of life only decreases in the west.
Meat and fuel is only harder to come by and swaths of the population are addicted to pills.
The whole purpose of Globalism has been to undercut labor costs and (ostensibly) blend the lower classes of the world together. They literally said it themselves for decades by implication but people never really followed up on it (or if they did, they were called crazy)The thing that boggles my mind is how, despite globalism only expanding, the quality of life only decreases in the west.

The addiction part is by design, they want a populace of nothing by addled consoomers as the elites continue to rape their way across the globe. The thing that boggles my mind is how, despite globalism only expanding, the quality of life only decreases in the west.

"Conspiracy theory" is probably the most potent thought-terminating cliche around. They can just spell out their plans like a cartoon villain and all they need to do is have outlets repeat "conspiracy theory!!" and that's that. The whole purpose of Globalism has been to undercut labor costs and (ostensibly) blend the lower classes of the world together. What would the intended objective being accomplished boggle your mind? You didn’t seriously think this was ever to benefit anyone except some rich jews and corrupt local elites, did you?The thing that boggles my mind is how, despite globalism only expanding, the quality of life only decreases in the west.

To a degree, globalism IS good, since it's more efficient and promotes development. It's rooted in basic economic principles (free trade, economies of scale, comparative advantage) and capitalism. The problem is, what's "good" for the globalist class isn't good for everyone. But what we see today is a monstrous machine that consumes entire nations and perverts cultures for the sake of a tiny minority of the world population. And then they have people telling themselves that this is good.

All of the above. This is an aggregate collection of failures across the entire thing - each failure point is not an absolute, but accumulated losses at each point leading to a massive problem by the very end. Some ships fuck off because of the california fines, some suppliers get stuck in port hell, some containers can't move due to truckers, some truckers can't join the fleet due to fuel costs or parts shortages, and each little piece makes it all worse.View attachment 3147393

It really is starting to feel like we've hit some sort of critical mass and literally everything is going to shit. Is this because of COVID restrictions? Or maybe China's just refusing to send ships to California if they're just going to sit in the ocean getting fined by Californian idiots because the EcoFascists won't let people unload them.
Meanwhile, the Biden admin not only doesn't realize this is a problem, they think it's just fuckin' dandy. I'm sure they plan on letting California and NYC starve last, or something. All of the above. Covid was a multiplier, but its worth remembering that outside of china's draconian lockdowns, most cities and ports stayed operational. These people were all flagged as essential to profits and allowed to continue. The fact that a single city or country shuttering temporarily could permanently cripple the global economy for years shows that it was not a matter of if Globalization of supply chains would fail, but when. Covid was just the lucky lottery winner on showing the weakness that already existed.
That'll probably be the worst of it, for essentials at least - One of the upsides of wanton consumerism is excess in all things. You won't starve by anything other than choice, but you might be busting your ass for beans.Meanwhile, the Biden admin not only doesn't realize this is a problem, they think it's just fuckin' dandy. I don't know when it starts to hit. The supplies here are hit or miss, mostly hit, but the prices are getting pretty insane.
