It's been a while coming but the UK has now stopped publishing the data on booster effectiveness.

Last weeks numbers showed no difference in mortality or hospitalisation for almost all aged groups (comparing the boosted with the unvaxxed) but a 3-4 times higher transmission rates for the boosted.

I'm guessing that the data has completely flipped and they've now decided to halt publication.

I had one of my boomer family members accuse me of spreading disinformation. Yes linking to the UK government is literally Alex Jones or something. Both are still around at a lot of stores. The more conspiratorial would say that it's part of normalization and forcing you to remember this bullshit is still around in order to demoralize you -- and they're probably right. At this point however the real reason is that the wagies at stores are too lazy to remove them. The shields will probably stay until they either get giant cracks in them or the store doesn't want to pay the extra for antibacterial wipes to clean them off every day. And those stupid fucking floor stickers will be there forever until they disintegrate, get scuffed to the point of illegibility, or the store gets demolished or refurbished.

For me the best part of all this has been getting a far better paid job, in a place where masks and social distancing is just not a thing.

It kind of restores my faith in employers, just doing the right thing and cracking on, cos really, what else can you do? It's awesome. I'm on more mont, getting shit sorted financially and loving my job and my employer doesn't give a toss about any of the government bullshit.

Because we have seen here in the UK the government and various civil servants repeatedly breaking their own rules and we are collectively over that shit.

I earn far, far above NMW for what I do. And I love it.and my employer is considered "essential" and even if they're not, they've said WFH is not feasible for us. So I get to go into the office even if they decide to shut us down again. And will I wear a mask? Lolol fuck no. Not worn one yet, won't ever.

For me, knowing that it will make some people seethe is enough.

You know what. I am Le Tipsy right now so fecking brace yerselves bois and gorls. Two and a bit years back I was working in a minimum wage job. Was doing a PhD, and to be fair, loved it. Was healthcare related. Bit I had to change cos of healthcare reasons.

What I realised is this: healthcare is a crapshoot. Being a normal healthy weight in an AHP job puts you very, very much in the minority. You are not the majority if you aint an eatbeast, that shit is fo sho.

Health care aint about looking after people. It's about pushing a fucking narrative. That is what I learned.
