And now he is to have a debate with Vaush
Why do e-celebs keep falling for the debate meme? For me it's pretty obvious that the people who start those debates don't want to question their own ideas and just want to say "haha look my opponent is so stupid" afterwards.

On a diffrent note, found this neat but oversimplified russian documentary series on the Romanovs (english translated)

It certainly looks like he is sliding into anti-SJW grift based on these tweets and his plans to debate Vaush. Someone willing to scrutinize his imagery could even come to conclusion that he is an alt-right sympathizer or a kaiserboo, considering that WhatIfAltHist likes to use the iron cross as a symbol for Germany - even for the modern day state. Other nations do not get that treatment. That alone would give Vaush some ammunition to start the debate with. Rudy can't even proofread his wall of text slides, so I doubt he will be capable of catching Vaush's debate tactics and dealing with them appropriately. Attacking numerous factual errors in Rudy's videos is easy too. That can undermine what little credibility WhatIfAltHist would have depending on the debate subject.

I wonder if the debate is still happening, considering that tweets about it are from nearly a month ago. Perhaps it was postponed because of the conflict in Ukraine. I could not find any official information on the debate other than twitter exchanges from February.
For the time being, here's Vaush's response to the Social Justice video. It gives an idea of where Vaush might be coming from for this debate.
First time watching Vaush. 10 minutes in and he does a good job at shooting down Rudy’s more hysterical claims. But hoooooooly hell he can be snarky and cringy.

Hmm, weird: I always pictured him to be a lot more nerdy and effeminate like Armchair Historian – not some chubby Scots-Irish guy who looks like he belongs at a pub drinking to Dropkick Murphys.
Imagined a skeleton thin, incel faced type.

Replying to some old posts:
I'll never understand why the production quality of these channels like Monsieur Z or Whatifalthist is so shit when they have patreon and sponsorships. I'm pretty sure they're using fucking Microsoft Paint and Movie Maker, which they have no excuse not to upgrade to real production software by now.
Some of the thumbnails, like this one, hurt my fucking eyes.
EDIT: Fixed a tiny grammar mistake.
That’s the best part.
It does what is required and leaves more time for new videos.

One last thing has anyone seen a video by Dan Davis Author? If so what do you think about him?
Spite him.
Because his narration is abysmal. He talks at a snail pace. While playing unrelated vids in the background (the worst).
And he does videos on topics I adore but can’t be bothered to watch due to aforementioned. So fuck him.
Btw, he seems on good terms with Survive the Jive.

Survive the Jive does mostly vids on indo-european, especially germanic, mythology and anthropology. Haven't seen too much of him but seems well researched and enthusiastic. Not odd considering he is a legitimate pagan ethnonat. And he once had a beef with Varg.

So Dunning-Kurgger Whatifalthist has a few hot takes on ancient Mesopotamia it's religion and the world that surrounded it and it's races and cultures.
...and there are people picking it apart.
View attachment 2804563
Not watching the entire vid again but ‘picking it apart’ is a huge stretch.

What the first guys says about horses is at least partly wrong. Rudy never claims they rode horses, and the commenter says chariots were only used from the iron age forward. I know for a fact that they were at least used since the New Kingdom of Egypt, probably older. Admittedly maybe not from the very early bronze age.
The rest doesn't even disagree with Rudy.

Some of the things the second guy says seems like him misinterpreting the vid. But yes, there was no revolt of Sumerians against Assyrians but there were revolts of Sumerians against the Akkadians, the ancestors of Assyrians

Rudy picks up the keyboard:

He does say iron age Assyria was a land of free peasants when he said the opposite in a previous vid. But I will once again say that his overall sociological statements are correct.

If you want to really shit on him, take a gaze upon this pile of tweets:
1647645855158.png

It doesn't make sense because he:
  1. Compares the ideological/economic status of each gender in a society with a system of tracing descent
  2. Claims that women were respected in China and India, especially when he claimed the opposite in a previous video
  3. Says that women can't influence their partners when the family is traced through them? And women in patriarchal societies aren't seen as business tokens?
Guess I don't know too much about any of this. Just hugely sceptical. He should stop spurting random claims and back them up. And if twitter isn't fit for that just make a vid.

Anyone's thoughts on History Debunked?
He's more of a British political channel then a history channel.
but you have to feel bad for old british men like him that has live long
to see their country to be turned to what it is today.
I don't even want to watch any of his vids because I might fall into a depression.
Not a day goes by without me thinking at how repressed the British people is.
Was told a story about a british POW during WW1 was set to work in German coal mines. The lad told conditions were so horrific in english mines that they didn't reach the safety level of the 1910's german mines till the 60's. And still today they have one of the highest rates of poverty and drug abuse in Europe.

Imagine being a Brit. For centuries you were kicked around by the aristocracy, treated just above a slave. When other countries in Europe implented labor unions and social welfare you were still under the boot. And just as your living conditions improve the slightest the exact same aristocrats Oxford university pals decide to import a bunch a pakis and jamaicans and force you to mingle with them and cover up their asses when they rape yours. Then they get the brilliant idea of shitwashing your history with the same rapists and copy the draconian PC culture of the worst areas of USA. The Labour elite is busy catering to pakis and the Conservative elite is busy playing empire by inviting it to the UK. Fucking disgusting.

Don't even compare them to Sweden. Swedish workers were given a century of prosperity, they can make media without darkies and their nationalists are in the midst of turning the political system upside down.

But the average British person is like an underdog still waiting for its turn. Stay safe, ffs, mates.

Saw this video being recommended from the dino autist, which while not over all abysmal, just has to shove in random modern leftie takes on ancient history. And is full of dated meme attempts at jokes.
First there's the mention of the ancient aliens quacks. For some reason, there are people that took parts of the insane idea that literally every major historical event that has ever happened was set up by or completely constructed by aliens, and made it a race thing. Says something about how the show 'focuses mainly' on how those damn dirty brown people couldn't have built temples or anything advanced, but looking any deeper into this claim shows that the hosts are just whackjobs that say anything and everything, up into the modern day were the responsibility of extraterrestrials. I don't get where the people who claim it's an evil nazi sentiment think they're going with that.

Moving on, we have multiple references to human animal idols, which of course he uses to say ancient fursonas, not that they could have any other symbolic meaning.

And then the "gay caveman" story, which he uses to project the hypothesis that ancient cultures all somehow believed in the postmodern ideologies of "third genders" , nonbinary, and even being somehow accepting of transgenderism. He uses the fact that some people were buried in a way unbefitting of traditional male or female burials. Not that this could have just been to micro differences between separate cultures, or just due to mistakes in burial, or to people just having different roles in society, not strictly related to sex. This revisionism is getting to a ridiculous level. It's funny how a lot of other things can be debatable but the endless expansion of the gender wars nonsense only has one valid side.

A few other things like this happen in the video, and on top of that there's several actually interesting topics he barely covers just to skip over to more meme garbage.

Trey said he took a four month hiatus and this was supposed to be his major return video. If this is supposed to be impressive, I guess there's a reason I haven't paid attention to his channel in a long time. The thing's 50 minutes but feels like there's maybe a good five of okay commentary.
For some reason everyone replying to this post cranked up the autism to 11 in an otherwise pretty mundane thread.
No idea the amount of evidence but black skinned european is based on the idea of humans not needing excess vitamin C from the sun while living on a hunter-gatherer diet so people wandering north would retain their dark skin until they switched to farming.

Watch his bible study vids and stop making jokes about furries a political issue.

Calls others replies autistic, makes massive TLDR with a starting line that says Vaush is competent :story:

That aside, have you watched any of dino autists content BESIDES whatever bible study stuff you're mentioning? Not that I would assume that is historically accurate either considering how bad he's gotten, but I believe those videos are fairly old.

Sexuality was defined differently in premodern times. There was less "men and women" and more "active vs passive".

Sure, the third gender didn’t exist in the sense of gender studies but people in this thread have watched hours worth of tubers with the exact same opinions as Trey. Don’t get why he is shit on for a few points in a single video. Especially since there seemingly aren’t any incriminating errors.

His content is original and lacks format. What’s to hate?

Yes, you know this for 100% certain, basing ancient burial grounds off of a temporary throwaway obsession in modern culture. Sure.

I'll have to be careful with this topic since cooking is something I've been known to sperg about.

Don't know of a military cooking channel, but this channel covers a lot of historical cooking with a good I'd say 80% of it being historical military cooking.

What's funny about the bread thing is that Roman legionaries used to make their own bread in the field.
I don't think I've ever heard of this historytube channel before.

Oh boy, how about another 1+ hour iceberg video where we spend a couple of sentences on individual alternate history stories? How about we jump from one story to another without any real pattern? How about we say we were inspired by Trey the Explainer's "Amazing" iceberg video* and have him say a couple of sentences for "content"? How about we barely edit and just "apologize" at the end? Don't forget, a part 2 is coming out soon as well!

I'm getting tired of this. I'm still holding out for Cody because he's on the better end of these kind of Youtubers. I'm not sure for how much longer.

*I don't really care too much about some of the woke that leaked in Trey's video (although it was an annoying red flag), I just found it incredibly lazy and surface level. The ultimate quantity over quality content that anyone can do with a list and Google. I know Trey (and specifically Cody here aping him) can do way better.

this is both an april fools joke and also not an april fools joke. schrodinger's april fools joke if you will

Cody says at the end of the video that he used the excuse of April Fool’s to make this video, since it was something he always wanted to do (and it being different than his usual stuff). I WANT it to be a true April Fool’s joke, but I really don’t know.

Also, last year’s April Fool’s was an ancient alien debunking colab with “KnowingBetter” (🤮), which I couldn’t get past 5 minutes. An over-treaded subject and one where Trey shoehorned antisemitism into anything “ancient alien” related. 😑 I don’t like ancient alien theories, as they devalue human ingenuity and work effort, but going the whole “ancient aliens are antisemitic” pissed me off (perfect corporate narrative feeding — I expect no less from Google and their puppets like Cody).

Sorry if I seem mad. I just know these YouTubers can do way better…

basing ancient burial grounds off of a temporary throwaway obsession in modern culture
basing it on the institutions of pederasty in antique Greece and Rome, anthropological descriptions of sexual practices in african/oceanian cultures, aisan pre-modern erotic art, etc.
Now the modern culture version of above is saying these cultures had their greatly tolerant and progressive customs crushed by western, imperialist capitalism.
The real version is that the dominant/passive axis meant older, powerful men would engage in romantic or sexual relations with younger boys, that the practice was not equally common everywhere, and the societies were it was the most common and institutionalized were deeply patriarchal and hierarchical.

You know the best part? The modern definition of homosexuality originated with, yeah just guessed, US, in the Tanakh, Leviticus 18:22.
So if you hate faggots no matter what role they take, a "thank you" would suffice, goyim.

Are you really trying to base this off of ancient pedophilia, modern interpretations of ancient art, and whatever the hell vaguery of "sexual practices in african/oceanian cultures" means? Even if you did somehow prove examples from any one of these things, it does not prove that these concepts were common in anything but smaller circles and probably usually among the richer of each society, because that is usually the only thing that supports deviancy. I especially don't know if you're trying to make it look good by choosing Greek and Roman pedos as your primary example.
