Furry Fandom and Drama General

Are you guys ready for seeing the most autistic thing ever?
I didn't know that movie and just checked on Youtube for a quick laugh.
And oh my... I found a trailer / teaser for "Alpha and Omega - PART 6 - The big Fureeze" (2015 - 2016)
That animation, the rendering and especially the anatomy of the wolf puppies give me fucking nightmares.

In case you want to share the pain, check out this teaser / trailer only a wolfaboo can love.
WARNING: May trigger autism and eye cancer (if you can make it out alive).
These sequels put the first film to shame than it already is simply in the animation alone (only recall seeing a bit of that when that DVD came out, that film was released theatrically to start with, but all of these use the same Indian crew so there's no excuse). A lot of slight goofs, cheaper models, recycled ones as well like the humans in the last film, and rediculous stories without much of a plot (the last one was mostly clip show filler and that film was less than 40 minutes long).

There's another two sequels in the works I've heard, so we haven't seen the last of these yet.

Did anyone even like the first movie - by that, I mean those who aren't wolfaboos?
I barely did, only because a mother had to get it for her kids when it showed up. Apparently unlike it's lackluster box office return, I guess it did well on home video for Lionsgate to throw money at Richard Rich and his Indian pals, so yeah, Land Before Time's successor for a new generation!

So this is Land Before Time levels of sequelitis?
To me it certainly screams it the way they had to stick in those offspring of Kate and Humphrey's that were never in the first film and tend to focus the adventures on them. And given the way these are made, the pups aren't even full-grown by this point!

Reminded the only thing about the first film some could attest to is liking the secondary plot involving Lily and Garth that sadly the sequels decide to screw with them character-wise.

I think they gotta work harder than that.

Last I checked, Land Before Time has twelve sequels.
Ah, but here's the difference, they aren't all shit. The first few, while not on the first film's level. Weren't that bad. It's after movie four that things really went down the shitter.

A&O meanwhile was shit to start with, and got even shittier as the sequels came.

Land Before Time certainly had a strong foundation to start with in it's initial film.

True that.
From the shit I’ve seen on YouTube (what was already enough) the offspring of the two main wolves are not growing at all, they are somehow stuck at the child / puppy stage FOREVER. (But one of the child characters / puppies already had a love interest. That is... weird?) One critic on YouTube did a review of this shit and he said something like: The 3 puppies stay small for 5 movies because the audience wouldn’t like them anymore if they would grow up. They are all such lame and boring characters. The only thing that makes them likable is the "cute factor".
I guess that sums it all up.

I also love how they use all the same bases for the puppies / baby wolves. There are 2 - 3 models that just get recolored all the time. This franchise really is the cheapest and lamest shit and the most terrible attempt to make a low budget family movie that sells well.
(Ok, if we can forget "Land Before Time" and "Foodfight")

They're already talking like they need to be beyond adolescenece at this point, but I guess they don't feel like creating new models for each of 'em!

That's all they care about in this business. Pretty much went against the first film that didn't mind introducting us to the main guys as younger selves before the time skip.

True (and even then, Land Before Time paved that road well).

Speaking of movies that have billions of sequels doesn't airbud have like 1200 sequels either about playing various sports of his 8 children who are all weird sterotypes (there's a buddist puppy and a ghetto puppy)

Also Balto had like 3 sequels about his kids I think, I watched one of them when I was little and it was about his daughter having like a spirit journey and becoming the leader of a random wolf pack

This is all just too much :(

Rule34 of "Alpha and Omega" - you can clearly see the target audience of this franchise.

There were two sequels, one dealt with his daughter (Wolf Quest) while another involved a son who delivered mail for the Nome post office as part of a sled team (Wings of Change).

Universal didn't stop there, they had to do two more for An American Tail that put Fievel and his family back in NY again since the second film was all a dream Fievel had one night.

I think it just a 90s/early 2000s trend of churning cheap animated sequels direct to video for parents to buy to mindless entertain there children. Universal, Fox, and Disney did it just because its was easy money.

Why are we talking about shitty animated movies on a thread about a shitty fandom?

Does that include non-wolfaboo furries? In all honesty, that number would be close to existent.

Dat animation doe. So fugly
Seeing the animation can tell one just how cheap it feels. How made-for-TV or direct-to-DVD it is.

Because it started off with a shitty animated movie that would appeal only to wolfaboo furs. To try and stay on track, Zootopia could end up being Alpha & Omega, only appealing to a more wider audience but still not appealing to every furry.

Because A&O sparked the conversation, and frankly, it makes a bit of sense, as that is a shitty movie. And I don't think something like Zootopia will do much better.

More popular, of course, this is Disney after all. But I don't see this being that good, potential critical praise aside.
