A lot of people think they fall on the chart simply for not liking noises or being bad at social skills. Normies can have those issues and you know, be normies. If someone suspects autism, they should go out and get evaluated instead of assuming and claiming they have a medical condition and shitting up every autism place online.I do have an on topic question for you guys. Does a family/kid added here need to have been born despite the knowledge of the defect from one of those “a life is a life” moms or is it more about parents who post videos of their brain dead kids for shekels? I’m asking because I follow a few on tiktok currently and wasn’t sure if they meet the criteria. I did look in the OP and I’ve lurked here for years but I may have missed the rule.I’m sure I’d fall somewhere on that colorful little chart as well, but girls didn’t get tested as often for it in the 90s. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not pro let’s-just-lock-them-in-the-attic, but I do get irritated that there are no consequences. Having a consequence is even more important for kids who don’t understand social cues. It’s really irritating when a teacher has to make a phone call home and say, “hey some kid cut your little girls pony tail or pushed your son off the swing and he broke his arm and the school is going to handle discipline.” Meanwhile the discipline is going to the principal’s office during lunch time to get a honey bun and a high five. Fuck that. Suspend their ass. You know? At least make it the parent’s problem so they make more of an effort to help change the behaviors. Most of the time the parents refuse to acknowledge any responsibility their child has to behaving like a human being and not an animal because.
I got plenty of consequences. My home life was abusive because mom didn't care enough to read anything the school sent out and figured treating me like garbage and hitting me would make me into the popular cheerleader she always hoped for. Which is why I was frustrated and got detention in the first place. I never hit someone else after that. I had an IEP since elementary school, it was pretty obvious something was off with me. Now you have people who are so desperate to be autistic and doctor shop until they get one that agrees, or just say they have it based off stereotypical bullshit. If you are autistic, you'd know. You don't have to ask reddit 'oh does this seem autistic??'. Growing up fucking sucked.
