Family and media are reporting that Vitaliy Vinogradov, the Dean of the Kiev Slavic Evangelical Seminary, was found dead in the streets of Bucha, Ukraine. By the eulogies I’ve seen on social media, he was beloved by all who knew him.

The New York Times and I are typically on a no-link basis, but I have to give in this time since they published satellite photos showing bodies found lying on Yablonska Street since at least March 19. Their source is Maxar technologies, who I’ve detailed here, a satellite imaging company that has a multi-million-dollar interest in keeping the intelligence community happy.

The most puzzling part is that those close to Vitaliy say he went missing on March 5 or 6, weeks before he shows up on satellite photos and just days before a humanitarian evacuation. He let someone know he was going to make his way from Bucha to Kiev the day before he disappeared, so what happened to Vitaliy in the interim — from the time he went missing all the way to the 19th of March when his body shows up on satellite images?

On March 8, the city of Bucha was allowed to remove corpses from the streets, so killing had occurred by then and Vitaliy had already disappeared by then. If, as it is claimed by everyone, that he was tragically and brutally gunned down by Russian forces, it must have happened fairly early on, so why was no one able to identify him or post a photo somewhere for nearly a month? Did the cleanup crews not make it to Yablonska Street where all the killing actually took place?

The idea that Vitaliy was shot point blank by Russian forces is not outside the realm of possibility, but the evidence is questionable. People had clearly died by the time of the March 10 humanitarian corridor, but pictures also show that the town was teeming with people waiting to get out during what looks like a failed evacuation on March 9. So there was death, yes, but there was also a lot of activity that looked calm and collected.

Some possibilities that I can think of:

1. The supposed satellite photos of March 19th are fake. After Russian troops left on March 30th, Ukrainian soldiers/militia/etc executed so-called Russian saboteurs and collaborators, and placed some corpses died weeks ago on streets, maybe mixed with so-called saboteurs and collaborators, to fake the Russian "massacre".

2. The supposed satellite photos of March 19th are fake. Russian soldiers executed all of them before leaving on March 30th, or some of them and Ukrainian soldiers/militia/etc finished off the rest and blamed all of them on Russia. If so, why did Ukraine government post the supposed massacre 3 days after the withdrawal of Russian troops?

3. The supposed satellite photos of March 19th are true. Russian soldiers for some reasons held some Ukrainians captive as early as March 5/6th and executed them on the streets out in the open around March 19th. Or an implausible speculation that Russian soldiers executed some of them around March 6th or later, then placed them on the streets around March 19th., No one knew about them until April 2nd. Ukrainian soldiers/militia/etc finished off the rest and blamed all of them on Russia.

4. The supposed satellite photos of March 19th are true. Some people for some reasons placed the corpses or executed them on streets around March 19th, and no one knew about them until April 2nd. (Edit (I forgot to add this sentence): ) Ukrainian soldiers/militia/etc finished off the rest and blamed all of them on Russia.
