Grace Lavery / Joseph Lavery & Daniel M. Lavery / Mallory Ortberg - "Straight with extra steps" couple trooning out to avoid "dwindling into mere heterosexuality"

The Woman's Hour podcast is up. I don't have time to listen to the whole thing right now but Joe's opening salvos are so idiotic and dishonest I wanted to post them here. The following quote is slightly out of order for clarity but everything in quotation marks is a direct quote.

Deliberately misleading?? So terfs are trying to trick their interlocutors into thinking they mean women beggin' for dick instead of troons? Nice try, but nitpicking a tiny (non)issue of phrasing does not detract from the substance of the question. Or, should I say nice tries, because he attempts this argument three times. The eyerolls from the BBC presenter are practically audible.

"HISTORICALLY SPEAKING," Joe, the question of whether men are women has not been a fucking question. Such an asshole.

And Mallory is doing just fine, thanks.

so his big argument is the "Can I go to the bathroom?" "I don't know, can you?" retort. Wow.

The cope to end all copes.

I feel like I ask this constantly with trans logic, but if the question of womanhood is a political one, not biological, then what the fuck are the hormones for?

Well, he finally got his reaction.

There are tons of these on Twitter mixed with simps mournfully realizing why his name is trending and tweeting "solidarity" and other such nonsense.

I also pulled one clip off Twitter of ~the patriarchy~ response. I CANNOT. A woman is not "a naturally occurring organic type." HA HA HA HA HA.

Edit: And a meme!

Yeah, the modern gender movement is what you get when you give the moral blank check of minority oppression to a "minority" that is in fact the most privileged demographic on Earth (white, mostly middle-class heterosexual males, and to a lesser extent white, mostly middle-class heterosexual females). They don't have any of the learned behavior of actually oppressed minorities that might tell them "wait a minute, maybe we are in danger from the majority if we continue down this particular path, so we should tone it down a little". They just keep pushing and pushing, because they have no lived experience (hah) or cultural memory of actual pushback.

Don't agree with the Will Smith comparison though because that shit was awesome and also I would consider Chris Rock to be more of a potentially dangerous opponent than the average American at a Cracker Barrel. What are they going to do, sit on you?
this is very true. thanks 4 explaining their lack of fear of backlash/pushback, which always puzzles me.

i live in the South, land of political backlash & always thinking about how it will manifest. It always does.

in black community, there is always some preacher warning everybody to back off, they are a permanent fixture.
you always see them on tv when some black kid killed for little or no good reason. what you don't see is: if they think the kid deserved it or somehow brought it on himself (e.g. drug dealer or gang member) they pointedly will NOT show up for tv.

No small number of tweets from black community about the Will Smith event: "he made us all look bad!"
Never seen a tranny worry about that. Not one time.
I see trannies who *lightly disagree* with the goon squad, but none are actually taking the elder/preacher-role of telling the rest to simmer down. Its a fucking free for all.

Some Texas terf said "i told you so" about those new Texas tranny laws, and they were all over her in a minute, tried to get her twitter account canceled. (luckily "i told you so" still not ban-worthy)
the idea that their own insane excesses might cause pushback seems never to occur to them, or if it does, they act like kids proud they have upset the middle-school teacher & sent her running from the room: Ain't they naughty-cool?

they don't care about how their own behavior might inadvertently bring about fascism. Or they believe they will be totally immune to it? Or it will somehow benefit them? I can't figure out what their long-term 'strategy' is, if there is any? Just trans as many kids as possible & then tell them how to donate/vote?

As for Grace's little dog & pony show: i'd love to see him in a southern union hall or liberal Methodist church & watch how he'd handle regular redneck working class people, even the blue-haired ones.

they would ask all the dangerous, unasked questions and give Grace apoplexy, so it will never happen. :(

Another tidbit from the Woman's Hour radio interview:

Interviewer: "You have written, 'I'm quite sure that women's rights are not, have never been, and must never be sex-based.' But to those women who believe that they must have sex-based rights for a variety of reasons, ranging from sport, through to women-only spaces for different purposes, how can you say that with such surety?"

Joe: "Well again, I say it on the basis of twenty years of active research and teaching in the field. I have been doing this work for a long time. The notion of sex-based rights is a very recent phenomenon that hasn't existed for more than a few years and it's a really bad deal for women."

Joe is 39 years old. That's amazing that he has been a researcher and teacher since he was a teenager! And here I thought his area of expertise was Victorian English literature but apparently it's...uh, women's history? Law? Something? Also, we've looked at plenty of Joe's course offerings in this thread. As I recall, every last one of them has been about English literature or related topics (e.g., sitcoms, poetry). Can anyone figure out where exactly Joe has been teaching all this scintillating material about women's rights? Since he's been teaching it for two decades there must be dozens of syllabi out there; I'd love to take a look at a few of them.

Due to the abbreviated lifespan of homo troonicus, it is considered basic manners to count their life experience in dog years.

His whole life is a huge lecture on several things, so I guess you could say he's been teaching for decades? Technically.

Nice try TERF but his expertise comes from the experience of living as a woman. It infuses every aspect of his inner being and the womenness simply comes out of him into everything he does. It's literally impossible for anyone to know more about being a woman than the good professor does and teaches every second of every day.

Life is the ultimate classroom.

STOLEN PICTURES FROM A PRIVATE INSTAGRAM! REVENGE PORN!

Just as a reminder, the "revenge porn" pictures were both posted publicly. Detailed proof here. The one of Mallory with Joe's fist in her mouth is still up on Joe's public Instagram (click right, it's the third pic). Fucking liar.

Remember Lily?

She's still posting thirsty comments on that twink former student of Joe's that rejected him:

Joe sounds like such a cunt on Woman's Hour, but it's awesome that he was invited on, cos we need more people to hear what prominent troons and TRAs actually believe.

At one point during the show, Joe is asked if he believes that it's possible to change sex. He says that he wouldn't classify it as a "belief"; he refers to it as a "claim" and says that it is possible. He follows that up by saying that sex is very real and is profoundly important. However, his claim hinges on hormones, essentially, as he thinks that if you give a man oestrogen, for example, even though his primary sexual organs, chromosomes etc. don't change, because he might grow bigger breasts, that's why he's "changed sex".

He seems like a religious loon that is jumping through the only hoop he has to keep his faith alive and he's done TERFs everywhere a HUGE favour by going on this show and sounding like some utterly mental mansplaining faggot.

Rhys/'Rachel' McKinnon, or Veronica Ivy, is meant to be appearing on BBC Woman's Hour next week.

The growing consensus among UK terven is that these are deliberate peaking tactics on the part of a troon-hostile faction within the BBC.
Not a bad strategy at all. Who's next then? Hontra? Chube Powah? Kevryn "Am Hole" Gibes? Jimmy Radich? Fucking Wesley "Laurelai" Bailey?
Can't wait to find out.

If they're determined to have trannies on their show, they're going to have to invite peakers.

It's not like we're swimming in sensible trannies who won't resort to abuse and will use reasonable, factual arguments to win over public support.
