Not really. Met a few during a 9 month deployment who were contracted to maintain Mi-8s. Great people, along with several coalition allies from East Europe. They allowed us to check out the inside of the Mi-8. Seeing Russians act like niggers and parade Ukrainian war dead and POWs in 2014 only for them now to get caught in a quagmire in the current year has been a great case of schadenfreude. I've also seen Russian and pro Russian people parade photos of US dead from OEF/OIF so I'm not upset the same types of people are getting the same treatment. That being said I do have Russian friends, both of them did their best to avoid military service due to it being similar to enjoying a few years at club fed as well as having first hand experience at how life outside Moscow or the other larger cities is shit. Pretty hilarious seeing people here act as if the Ukrainians would fair better as a vassal of the Russian federation. They aren't fans of Russia's policy of pissing away manpower and money becoming the second hermit kingdom.

I was told that the pro-Russian side were the ones raging and seething. One side posts cats, the other posts gore.

Man, I'm not saying this to be rude or anything, but walk away from this for a bit. See some friends, work on a project, go for a walk, just do something other than focusing on this for a while. This is clearly putting you in a bad place, I'm not faulting you for it or anything, but sometimes it's good to focus on something else for a while. Honestly most of us probably should walk away for a bit.

I posted a Ukrainian girl who was killed in action, with the words "War is the province of me, Eowyn" behind a spoiler. What Eomer says before that is a description of the awful things you see, hear and smell in a battle, that a hobbit would run from it, and that he would be right to do so. because its horrible. That girl's death is horrible and I took no pleasure in seeing it. You on the other hand, think it's cool to post the dead for shock value.

In other news, CNN did an article on some of the Chernobyl stuff. Not much in the way of hard information in it. Apparently in the main room the Russian soldiers were using, they tracked enough radioactive material from the red forest to have the room slightly above background radiation levels. They aren't very clear about the actual numbers, but judging by the video I think it's .58 uSv/hr, and some quick googling says that a normal background radiation level is 0.17-0.39 uSv/hr so that seems to track. CNN then went to the edge of the forest danger area and found a discarded Russian ration pack to hold a dosimeter near, which judging by the video and the picture in the article, was hitting 15.31 uSv/hr. For reference, the same article I found with the background radiation levels says that a flight from New York to Tokyo can have levels of 7 uSv/hr due to cosmic radiation.

So still nothing conclusive enough to say whether some soldiers managed to irradiate themselves enough that they could be showing symptoms of radiation poisoning, but it's pretty safe to say that a bunch of troops have significantly increased their risk of cancer.

I'm 100% in favor of Ukraine defending itself. But both sides are acting like shitheads.

You have Russians looting like it's a Black Friday sale, shelling areas indiscriminately, and shooting anything that moves in case its hostile.

Then you have Ukrainians firing from schools/hospitals, torturing and killing POWs (And broadcasting it), and using every corpse on either side for propaganda.

And they've both brought in their personal psychos and let them off the leash.

Russians have Chechens running around like it's Mad Max, shooting people and destroying property for shits and giggles, eating peoples pets in front of them, and leaving boobytraps in civillian-occupied areas.

While the Ukies have their Azovs shooting civillians trying to flee for being 'cowards' or 'Russian Sympathizers', torturing/killing any Russians (Military or otherwise) that they find, and "Commandeering" food and supplies from the populace.

Neither side are being shining examples of humanity worth cheering for.

It's very interesting you have no examples of the Red Army showing the same levels of empathy or humanity. I already said my piece on the Russians. The first group that got pushed into a foreign country with no direction and surrendered, totally innocent. I hope they get taken care of. The later groups of BTGs acting like it's 1945 in Berlin? Fuck'em. But you and like minded people think there's a huge conspiracy to defame the Russian military and every single call out to them acting like savages, to include claiming the Ukrainians were bombing their own nuclear plants to try to frame the Russians. Tbf east Europe has often been the more brutal and ruthless theater of war compared to western Europe which historically had a gentleman's culture surrounding war and the way it was conducted.

In east Europe there is no time for this recognizing the shared humanity between enemies bullshit.

Yeah, I don't, and it's very interesting that now that we do have examples of the Russian troops doing the right thing, Muttmurica has gone from sucking them off to absolutely hating them. It's almost like Muttmurica hates anything resembling white culture but loves all that is semetic.

Ukraine wouldn't kill 50 of their own people. They have no reason to.

Ukrainians have been killing their own people since at least 2014, even shelling their own cities, and as for Azov, filming their own ISIS-style execution videos. About 20% of the population are ethnically Russian, and Azov's untermensch.

That being said, Ukraine's aid and money increases every time a massacre happens, Russia in turn gains more sanctions, the reward/punishments for it happening only favors one side, so your main point here is literally a cope with no connection to what's actually been happening when civilians get dropped.

They have a massive incentive, it's possibly the single most rewarding act they can do.
