Thinking about long-running jokes today. I complain about them, especially when they get obnoxious and it seems like they annoy the vtubers themselves (e.g. Kiara-bottom left).

On the other hand, it occurs that they can be pretty useful for the vtubers. Like if Gura ever doesn't know what to say, she can just go "feet, lol" and there you go, 10-15 minutes of easy chat amusement. Same with Ame's "ground pound" or whatever.

I was thinking about this because I remembered how Rushia's (God rest her soul) pettan/cutting board thing was the worst zombie joke of all, yet in clips it seemed to be her bringing it up as often as not.

So maybe running jokes aren't so bad if the vtubers themselves find them useful and not irritating.

But jokes aside i don't know what layna expected. Its the internet, if you're pretty enough and got enough followes. You could commit murder and still come back to some diehard simps. And it seems bunny inadvertently helped her. Before all this shit. Nobody even knew laynalazar was.

The reason those jokes stick around so long is because the chuubas use them so much as filler. If they didn't, people would forget in a month.
