He’s got a point there, although the point is the opposite to what he is trying to make. This is why socially transitioning kids isn’t harmless. Because they will be distressed when puberty hits. They have been going about their whole lives doing a reasonably good job passing as the opposite sex.

But then puberty hits, and the obvious distress they display about suddenly not looking like a girl--even though their trusted adult authority figures assured them for years that they were a girl--is interpreted by those same adults as worsening gender dysphoria and an urgent need for drugs.

The answer is to stop socially transitioning kids, not medicating those kids for the rest of their lives. Socially transitioning kids is a fancy word for lying to them and trapping them in that lie. The only way "out" of that lie is drugs (and it’s not really a way out, but they won’t realize that until it’s too late).
