Look what happened to Mo Brooks. Went from sweeping victory into the primary to the worst guy with big margins just because he sat on his ass and coasted on the endorsement.

Not a lot of these endorsements are winners, but the winners have to, you know, win.

Baris is making the case that I do consider, that outsiders running as MAGA are more stalwart than the forever conservative types. He brings up JD Vance as an example, and how he's more trustworthy than Mike "I fry the gays cuz' I suck dick the same way" Pence. He also says the polling looks like if Oz wins the primary, he wins, at the very worst he'd be a different flavor of RINO than Collins or Romney. And this all goes back to Parnell not staying in and fighting the slander and bullshit.

Whoever wins will be replacing Pat Toomey for fuck's sake, hardly a staunch MAGA supporter as it is. Parnell dropping out killed any chance to fill that seat with a Trump Republican, now you are basically just trying to hold serve.

Oz is the lesser of two evils... but also likely to be an ironically reliable on. Calling him a different flavor of RINO is correct, but his particular flavor is useful. Likely to grandstand on key issues, but unlikely to actually vote in a way that fucks things up.

This is workable. And an upgrade over who he'd replace. So long as it's someone who won't throw a wrench in the works they are good enough for now. Getting someone better can come later, focus on realistic gains for now.

Exactly. You provide pressure so that each candidate is a little bit more like what you want. The pressure forces the incumbent to align closer to your end than the otherside's for their policy and then ensures whoever replaces him starts at that point you pressured the other guy too.

Rinse. Repeat. Until they find the equilibrium for their area of electability and hardline policy.

with that logic, didn't trump inspire an entire line of more brash politicians?
the last one we had was, Trumen maybe?
Nixon was brash behind closed doors. threatened area 51 once. he suggested they move nuclear tests near groom lake, then they breifed him about what goes on.
Joe Biden was the democrats last attempt at bringing back the old guard. considering the abysmal state of his administration. that's not working out so well. when Trump or Desantis wins the presidency, the new guard goes into full swing.

What Trump did was kick a natural process the uniparty had managed to stall back into moving.

In a functioning system, politics becomes a tug-of-war with both sides pulling on the rope. The middle point of that rope is the point the population considers to be good governance.

So X politician is elected, deemed insufficient in some way, and Y politician who replaces him is more that thing. Simple concept.

What the Uniparty did was ensure there was never a Y. There was never a politician more that thing.

Trump is ensuring there are other candidates, other people that can be chosen, and thus allowing the natural political drift to once again occur. A lot of the frustration in here stems from people who realized the stagnate nature of politics and want all the change -now-.

More or less, yes. He'll yap like a dog until challenged then shut up and vote how he should. But be allowed to vote how he wants on anything deemed to not matter.
