French elections will have no effect on war, only their internal politics and maybe French/EU relations.

So what you’re saying isn’t real either. Got it. I can just ignore you then, since you admitted Kiwifarms isn’t real life.
Ok, so there is no reason, but it is convenient for all of you to believe that West would not lift sanctions.

Because then you can justify the war.

Some posters here and what I see on places like Reddit makes me think it is accurate.
People seem to forget that the US was already in an economic downturn before this, and gas prices were already going up when they put the sanctions in place. Now with gas prices skyrocketing, the US still won't drill at home despite sitting on absolutely massive oil reserves. The US is absolutely willing to commit sudoku in order to "win" politically.

Le penis and macaroni are currently tied with a small margin of error for le pen, obviously this will change as more votes come in but it's interesting to think about how this will have any effect on the ukraine war, macaroni's victory means everything keeps going on as it has but a le penis victory would make euros mad at france just like they were mad at hungary some days ago.
Seriously? I expected le french phone calleur to win by a landslide. Please do not play with my feelings like that.

So far, the US has:
  • Increased sanctions on Russia
  • Has been sending more aid and weapons weekly
  • Pretty much banned the sale of Russian vodka
  • Has had multiple companies leave Russia, which honestly hurts the average Russian more than Putin
None of these things make me think they’ll lift sanctions anytime soon, and are in fact prolonging the war. The US does not want peace. If we did, we’d be pressuring Zelensky to agree to meet with Putin and agree on a compromise in exchange for peace

Why they increased the sanctions? Because, previous sanctions were unable to stop the war.

This is the simplest explanation. The fuck do you think they are going to do when santions are insufficient? Send thoughts and prays? No, they are going to increase the sancions, becasue this is a way of stopping the war without bombing fucking russian civilians!

They could do the sane approach and pressure Zelensky to agree to some terms as well as Putin. We aren’t. Spamming sanctions won’t work in the long run. Eventually the US will run out of things to actually sanction, so the only real opinion would be getting directly involved with Russia.

Ok, what are terms of Putin? Give up Donbass, Luhans, Crimea, force Ukraine to not join NATO and in consequence face exactly the same invasion in 20 years.

You seriously think that those terms are acceptable to Ukraine?

Compromise means both sides lose something, and gain a little in return. Russia is not going to give up Crimea. The best bet at this point would be an east/west split between Russia and Ukraine, with Ukraine retaining the same government they have now in the western part. To sweeten the deal and protect the rest of Ukraine, the US should allow Ukraine to have nukes again, seeing as the US is all for prolonging wars, but not getting directly involved. Then, Putin has to agree to not invade the rest of Ukraine ever again, otherwise the peace treaty is nullified. Seems more than fair, if you ask me.

Why would the west hold sanctions after Russian troops leave Ukraine?
The West (i.e. the US government and its satellites who will do what they're told) wants regime change in Moscow, and has done since about 2008 if not earlier. That's the basic reason why Ukraine is currently being invaded, and it's why Nord Stream 2 never got approved despite the Germans spending billions of Euros on it. The sanctions aren't going away, and nobody's offering to take them away. The US government is still officially pretending its completely fictitious story about Russia somehow electing Trump in 2016 is real, ffs. :story:

The people making decisions don't care about the things you care about, you are just dumb niggercattle to them and they'd prefer a world without you in it if possible. It wasn't economically rational to kill half a million Iraqi children with sanctions either, but Madeleine Albright thought the price was "worth it".

The US does not want peace.
Neither does Russia. They kinda started a war to prove it.
If we did, we’d be pressuring Zelensky to agree to meet with Putin
That is a terrible idea. Zelensky is doing absolutely the best thing by not cowing down to Putin's regime one bit. The second he does that, the harder Russia will push Ukraine into a corner. Russia doesn't want peace, it wants to win and win biggly, and Ukraine beating them away as they did is a massive moral kick in the nuts to Russia, which it sorely needed for a long ass time.
If Russia actually wants peace, let them make the big knee bending moves first. That's the only time anybody will know if Russia is serious about ending the war, when they beat their massive ass ego and admit they made a huge fucking mistake that will be suffered for decades if not breaking a century.

Here is the thing, no compromise was ever offered. Three days into the invasion, the Ukrainean side opened the peace talks with "You give back Crimea, withdraw all your troops and stop recognizing Donbass" and haven't budged from there, withdrawing any progress made on the next day after the announcement of said progress.
