For context, this was about
the shooting of two teenagers (aged 14 and 16) in Seattle's CHAZ/CHOP anarchist protest zone. When the news first broke, Alice assumed, as he always does, that this was a My Team vs. Your Team situation and immediately sided with His Team: the vaguely leftist, BLM/antifa-aligned, majority white male protestors hauling guns into their revolution LARP. Hence his fuck around/find out snickering at the shootings of two people driving in. Alice's team had scored a point on the other team, and that was cool, so they deserved it.
Then more details on the victims came out and he backtracked. But not really. But actually they probably still deserved it.

Normal people would be mortified by such a mistake of assumption, but normal people don't have six digit tweet counts. Chronic tweeters are incapable of admitting their wrongs and apologizing — I guess because they're terrified of being dogpiled at the slightest sign of weakness. Given the structure of the platform that isn't an unreasonable fear, but if you care so much about your Twitter rep that you find yourself endlessly justifying murder celebrations, you've proven to be both a terrible person and a pathetic one. Who gives a fuck if Twitter thinks you're weak? Only someone without a life outside of Twitter.

I swear these people start with bloodlust and work backwards to find a group of people (fascists, or people they assume to be fascists, or enemies of their friends) they can morally justify drawing blood from.
