Russia is undoubtably the primary aggressor though. It had aggressively attacked its neighbours for the last couple of years (Ukraine and Georgia). If Russia wanted Ukraine to back off from joining NATO they had multiple political venues to do so, but instead they continued in their aggressive tone and *surprise* pretty much pushed Ukraine into NATO.

I've heard a couple of different things about Rhodesia personally I think obviously that would have been the better place for black people to live and and eek out an existence.
