Remember 4 got blasted out of the air in 1991 at the start of the Iraq war by the 1960's soviet junk the Republican Guard had. After that they where kept back 20 miles from the front lines. 30 years later in the age of manpads they are pointless. The reason the A10 is still around is congressional pork. Maybe that is why its called the warthog

A worry i had about the alleged chem attack down at mariupol.
We have seen how Zelensky has toured around governments for aid, at first asking for planes and for no fly zones (which never happened) and slowly realizing that he'll have to work with whatever equipment nato feels like giving to the ukranian forces, But the guys down at mariupol are AZOV, an actual neo-nazi batallion, they are spread in small pockets surrounded by russian forces, they have been abandoned because they proved to be more of a nuance to the actual fight, and now that mariupol is more on the edge of falling than ever, any claim that comes from a feeling of desperation (specially a chemical attack claim, one that has been hyped up since the start) will certainly not go to waste, ukraine has nothing to loose by saying the claim isn't real, of course they'll say it happened even if no proper investigation has or can be carried out, they have nothing to loose and everything to get from nato and the us, more weapons and military supplies.
What i'm trying to say is that the claim will be verified one way or the other, more weapons will flow, , the more tight sanctions will get, the conflict will draw for longer, and who knows what else.

If there is any sort SAM AA system or modern manpads in the area you might as well be in a propeller driven aircraft. The A10 can't even crack 600mph. Thats why the Republican Guard where able to blast em out of the sky with old soviet Strela-10's. A mobile system that was meant for taking out helicopters.
The internet loves the A10 for the BRRRT meme, I get it. But in the real world I would take a boring F16 over one any day of the week. The MIG29's the ukes almost got would have been way the fuck more useful then the A10.
