TL;DR Literally autistic teenager running multiple OTD accounts reveals that they support "consensual, ethical" cannibalism, including that they themself would eat a human given the right circumstances. Gets harrassed off twitter, deactivates all their accounts, and claims to have voluntarily committed themself.

In my opinion, simply getting a good therapist and staying off the internet would suffice since it seems to me to just be an edgy child that overdosed on internet, but if this is at the suggestion of an actual psychiatrist, maybe this is more of a serious issue for them. Either way, gimmick twitter's a wild place.

If you run headfirst into a guy holding steady a knife, would it not be considered an act of self harm on your part, and an act of harm on his?

This thread hasn't been posted in awhile, which is a shame because recently I've noticed something of a gimmick account conspiracy going on. I don't have a ton of evidence, but I've been following Gimmick Accounts Being Sellouts on Twitter. What I'm pretty sure was initially meant to mock people hocking little vibrators on twitter is becoming a strange collection of evidence a bunch of major gimmick accounts have become connected.

I want to say this started about a 2-3 weeks ago, but it may have been longer. Essentially, several large gimmick accounts are all promoting the same t-shirts, in the same way, with the same store link called 'anyimage.io'. Gimmick accounts I've noticed engaging in this behavior include: pics that go hard, good reddit, Hating with Context, Posts to Show a Small Victorian Child, iconic audio origins, these memes will intimidate you, and I'm sure many more. The shirt designs are often bizarre, nonsensical 'shitpost' designs, most of which I think I saw on tumblr years ago in some form or another. Here's a couple of examples.





Like I said, I saw most of these in some iteration on tumblr years ago - instead of just promoting a product, they are selling cheap bootlegs of other artists stolen designs on the internet. Some of them started replying to their posts with 'only original link', while others just hide the origin of the images/designs even if the original artist is still selling them.



In this particular case, OP appears to be okay with people using their art since they essentially cleaned and edited a vector on old licensed merchandise for fun. Which makes it even weirder, really, because they shouldn't have anything to hide. These accounts really don't want you to notice they didn't make these designs.

I haven't really noticed anyone point it out, but the fact they all started doing this at the exact same time, with the same designs, and the same strategies, makes me think there's some corpo out there that bought up all these accounts and is trying to run them simultaneously without being detected.

Gimmick accounts OOC also pointed out this gimmick account created in January 2022, capitalizing off of a meme that went viral in the last 2 weeks, exists, and already has 50k followers.



Buying followers, perhaps? It's an interesting development and I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone more seriously documenting it. I hope necroing this thread will bring more attention to it.

EDIT UPDATE: Found confirmation from the maker of Posts to Show to a Small Victorian Child. They sold the account for $300.

Which brings us to the big drama magnet. Yesterday, the page announced a new owner of the account who went by the name of loona_irl. A 15-year old transgender furry.



However it was quickly revealed that Loona had confessed to making fart fetish videos despite their status as a minor and tried to brush it off that they're a "poor transgender kid that can't get a job in their small conservative town".





Naturally this did not go well with their entire crusade against pedophiles and lolis that they had an admin who not only made pornographic videos, but also boasted and gloated about it without a hint of shame.



Naturally this did not go as expected as the drama reached a boiling point that simply could not be contained and quickly devolved into infighting between the owners.





I do apologize on behalf of the sparse amount of screenshots or information, the drama happened so quick, I barely got time to document it. However I did get word that another page using a similar name under @dabadmemes is up and running and trying to continue the goals of the original account, though it is only run by a single person this time.

The moral of the story: Gimmick accounts continue to be trash and twitter's age limit should be raised to 18. I also wasn't able to get this post, but there's also unconfirmed speculation that the original owner of the account was also liking lolicon artwork despite calling other people pedophiles for liking lolicon.

Part of the reason why so many gimmick accounts turn to shit is to always look at the people running them.

It feels like its a common trend to see their personal accounts running only 50-200 followers average while their gimmick accounts draw in tens-hundreds of thousands of followers. Once you get high off of twitter clout, you crave more of it. That's why so many gimmick accounts turn into soapboxing accounts so quickly or generate so much drama.

I've also got an update on the Bad weebs gimmick: It looks like @loona_irl has deactivated their page today.

I actually noticed the same thing today and decided to dig up the thread to see if anyone else had posted about it. Your post is pretty comprehensive of the overall situation, but for further detail: It seems to be a network of gimmick twitter accounts that all pretty much just sell out or constantly retweet the t-shirt bootlegger account. Initially, I was going to go through his follows to see who might be part of his network based on certain factors (like a fixation on coffee artist george_10g - he did the profile picture art for the two most obvious ones, thispicgoeshard and VICTORIANCHILD - or just constantly retreating the central "Pics that go hard" account) but I initially gave up because it was over 150 accounts, including everyone's favorite groomer Keffals. However, as I'm writing this (like within 10 minutes of me looking at who he was following) he unfollowed keffals plus several other accounts (Dropping him down to 135) - not sure why, but I do find it pretty interesting - so I might as well post the unfinished collage I made with the attempt to markdown sockpuppets that shows he used to follow keffals: ibb + imgur (They're big images so I ain't gonna toss them on the Farms)

It seems whenever he makes or buys a new gimmick account, he promotes them for a bit through the central "Pics that go hard" account. Another new detail, he changed URLs for his site, it's now anyimage.io he's selling t-shirts through. There's definitely a suspicious grift going on here.

Follow-up. Found a few more of the accounts integrated in this weird bootleg t-shirt cartel. Based this on retweeing either a particular OnlyFans tweet that the main account was paid to shill using all of his other accounts, or just retweeting more than a couple of the main two accs' posts.

I can't completely verify it, but I'm like 75% sure SigmaActivity is or was at least recently bought. Seems to also follow george_10g I mentioned earlier and liked a post about his profile picture getting coffee art, but he doesn't retweet the shirt ads. Plus he follows the main two t-shirt shill accounts, thispicgoeshard and VICTORIANCHILD.

So overall that's at least seven, potentially eight accounts all connected in this. I also looked through the links he uses for selling his shirts, and it goes straight to Moteefe (a notorious bootlegger site mainly used by South East Asians selling knock off merchandise) which doesn't give any merchant information whatsoever. Anyimage itself is just so you can put a picture in the thumbnail of a Twitter link and make it seem like an authentic store link.

This is so strange, it's such a tangentially small grift but there's a lot of effort being put into it and maintaining it. I'm almost reminded of those spambots circulating fake screencaps of Elon Musk tweeting about cheap Malaysian watches.
