The easiest method would certainly be to always only have one heir, but that's pretty difficult to pull off sometimes. As some previous posters have mentioned, there are a bunch of ways to "deal with" your kids other than drowning them as babies, but heir management will be something getting in your way from just going speed 5 until a war starts.
Succession laws are an issue in the beginning - it'll take a bit to get primogeniture, but that will (hopefully) end your patricidal streak.
Game is a lot of fun. You may also be interested in trying one of the Spanish starts for a slightly different (but quite enjoyable) opening.
I've been save scumming but managed to somehow get a foothold on my 4th generation murchad who's intrigue like the 3rd gen. He attempted murder on his brother, so I went back and disinherited the brother, then once the 3rd died I killed him as 4th generation since he had 30 intrigue and maxed out schemer. Intrigue is so fun. I'm killing my people left and right.
Thank goodness Stellaris players are more or less normal save for the "haha exterminate the xenos" crowd who cannot play anything other than an ethnic cleanser empireView attachment 3160924
I gave up on Stellaris. Update changed too many things for me when they 2.7 or whatever it is when it came to Xbox. CK3 is far more fun then Stellaris.
Custom ruler and spec into martial, focusing on chivalry and strategy. Get big quick enough and marry into a family that has some numbers out of Ireland (iirc Wales likes to marry out). Conquer everything south of Dublin, then work around it, taking time to rebuild your troops. For Men-At-Arms, get Light Cavalry, Armored Footmen, and Archers to begin, adding in more Light Cavalry later. This is to specifically counter against the retarded strength of Norse sitting in Dublin, they get four really good men at arms that will fuck you up, and iirc that specific build should at least minimize their effectiveness. Check mark the “go for a hunt” decision and abuse it every chance you get for more Prestige; build longhouses to help your prestige grow.
Not only can you not do a custom ruler (unless I'm dumb) menuing is nightmarish. Switching between 2/3 panels gets bugged out, Crusader menu won't let move my tooltip cursor, and a bunch of other menu jank. I accidentally found the way to focus education on heirs by trying to spec a lifestyle perk for my Player King. Sometimes the Character View will permanently shift left a little bit cutting off some of the traits and what not. Still killed my brothers and sisters because Confederate Partition is dumb.
Victoria 3, the unreleased game we all love hate, has been leaked somehow from Paradox and people can now download it and play the unfinished buggy mess. As we all knew, it's shit. Not because it's not done or it's still in early development but because the changes Paradox have done to it. Youtuber Spudgun gotten himself some footage from a person who has a early copy. No idea how Paradox could've fucked up this big and leaked one of their games.
Enjoy the shitshow.
P.S. The guy who recorded the footage of the game sent crash reports to Paradox the absolute madman.
I'll go into detail why the game is shit in its current version from the leaked footage, in my opinion. The GUI looks like for a mobile game which ruins the immersion for Victoria 3, which should look like a proper PC game. It also locks all needed data and statistics behind a menu which is counterintuitive for the player. Some of the GUI, like the notifications, are ripped straight from Crusader Kings 3, which is a step back. The war system is underdeveloped and will need several DLCs to fix and adjust it in the future, which is a detriment for the players and a waste of time. The map just looks terrible and needs significant improvement to it, to look decent. It's all dark and gloomy like the GUI. I think, Paradox needs to push back the release date even further to adress these issues so the game will be playable. The diplomatic plays system are very retarded in my opinion and the "markets" system is a major step back from the sphere system from Victoria 2. And the last thing, the 3D models and the 3D map are really not needed and is a waste of time to develop it further. It just makes the game a bigger project than it needed to be. We could've just had a updated graphically Victoria 2 and everybody would've been happy. These are really obvious and blaring issues which would've been fixed long before the game's annoucement to the world. No dev diaries, shilling and sugarcoating will fix this.
Edit: The video was taken down by a copyright claim from Paradox and Spudgun was forced to take it down and replace the leaked footage with a dumpster fire image which is very accurate to say the least.

Is the EUIV Humble Bundle worth it? I've never been a fan of this time period and later compared to antiquity and the medieval period, but 20 dollars for a modern Paradox game that has 40 billion DLCs does pique my interest.

Link to the video.
I knew it was going to be shit at launch, but that is some next level shit, like Imperator Rome bad. This'll take quite a bit of DLC and mods to get working properly because you know they won't take any criticism to heart from this and blame naughty hackers for exposing this trash.

More horrifying is while looking up Europa Universalis 3 and 4 i found out there those out there who want a Europa Universalis 5 after Hoi 4, CK3 and Vic 3 (some people want to unironically consoom)

It's ok, as the other guy has stated if you don't have most of the dlcs it's a pretty good deal, the only thing missing is the we wuz kangz flavor pack that recently came out that gives some unique mission trees to some of the African and tribal nations but that one is actually pretty cheap if you end up interested in it later or have to use it for multiplayer. Plus the game is about as close to completion as it can get at this pont sans giving it a full and proper sequel. You can also run it with most mods such as flavor universalis or even maximum autismus packs such as MEIOU if you downgrade the updates.
lol, I love murdering multiple heirs of the attacker and his main alliance and they still attack me. How retarded do you have to be to push a war when not only have you lost 4 kings but your alliance partner too? It's honestly frustrating see a 6 year old as the main attacker after killing just about everyone in his family. I force a white peace to get aggressed on by another superior military might, causing me to murder them ad infinitum.
That breaks my heart (well as much as vidya can) about Victoria 3. Victoria 2 was actually my first demented intro to Paradox and I had a lot of fun in that game until I learned about EU4 and EU4 is one of the best games ever made imo.
Vicky 3 will probably be good after half a dozen patches and DLC but fuck that noise.
I took one fucking look at that Vicky3 video, that UI looks horrible. Why is it so fucking massive? It looks so shitty. Why do my eyes need to travel triple the distance to receive LESS information?
Is it impossible to have a UI that both looks nice and stylized and gives me information I need without taking up like 3/5ths of the screen space? The UI in Vicky 2 isn't that bad and it looks alright, plus I can see useful info at a glance, like if I can still raise regiments or build more ships, top 3 imports/exports, population, etc. etc.
That's not to mention that all of the other changes sound like it's going to be a retardedly hollow experience.
On a more positive note, I decided to play Hearts of Iron 3 recently after owning it for a while and playing Darkest Hour quite a bit, and HoI4 a whole lot. As Germany I managed to not only start the invasion of Poland by Sept. 1, 1939, I managed to capitulate them a few days after the historical date. In the winter of 39-40 I managed to annex Denmark, Netherlands, Norway and puppet Sweden. Knocked France out by June, and then Sea Lion'd England by August/September. The USSR declared war on me halfway through me taking over England but they didn't really push me. I didn't really want to invade the USSR so I just left the game there, but it was a lot of fun.

I absolutely believe the UI looks as bad as it does to make a future console port viable. Your eyes are traveling 3x the distance to look at less info because they're expecting users to eventually be reading it from a couch, not a monitor. The itty-bitty icons in Vicky 2 would never work on a console.
What's funny is if that IS their strategy, the Dark Mode UI is an absolutely horrible choice since glare on a TV is a way bigger problem than glare on a PC.

That seems to make sense given the look of the UI.
If they are planning a console port, then that's retarded in my opinion. Vicky isn't a game that can be played on a console, unless you gimp the shit out of, which given what they're doing to the game, appears likely.
