CK3. I'm on Xbox checking it out on Game Pass. I honestly am down for killing my kids. I don't see the point of marrying and having more kids when it splits the claims between my Player Heir's siblings.
The best way to play is marry a barren woman and have plenty of bastards. Then you just legitimize the best one out of the lot.

The best way to play is with Agnatic-Cognatic Primogeniture. That way, you control the succession and ensure the oldest child always inherits everything. You can then raise the oldest yourself to make sure they get the traits you want in a leader. Any other kids are spares that can be given the throne if something happens. When things look good, you can get rid of the other kids anyway you see fit, or allow them to dispose of themselves (such as joining a crusading knighthood). Daughters can be married off, sons can be forced to take the vows, given minor land holdings, assassinated, what have you.

It’s also fun to just roll with it and murder your siblings in a succession war whenever you die.

The easiest method would certainly be to always only have one heir, but that's pretty difficult to pull off sometimes. As some previous posters have mentioned, there are a bunch of ways to "deal with" your kids other than drowning them as babies, but heir management will be something getting in your way from just going speed 5 until a war starts.

Succession laws are an issue in the beginning - it'll take a bit to get primogeniture, but that will (hopefully) end your patricidal streak.

Game is a lot of fun. You may also be interested in trying one of the Spanish starts for a slightly different (but quite enjoyable) opening.

So Paradox, in their infinite wisdom, has released this:

The server: https://discord.gg/hoi4

But it appears that the server is chock-full of retarded rules, like "no pepe and deus vult" memes allowed.

That server is destined to be a trash fire. Femboy tankies vs femboy fashies, all in one place. :story:

I'd argue that this ought to be featured because we could see a massive influx of drama flowing into the surface, Paradox is playing with forces (concentrated autism) that they couldn't possibly understand!

We already have a massive faggot infestation with literal discord hoi4 modding groomers to the point that they have a thread here with over 300 pages. This is going to suck by the truckloads unless you just want to do literal club penguin tier ban speedruns or to prowl around looking for milk to post here.

All I can hope is that the tranny jannies don't affect the dev team too much but I'm not going to eer on the side of optimism since Paradox is literally a swedish company and the Victoria 3 dev diaries have danger hairs doing presentations. I'm just lucky that CK3 ended up fine so I can still play some of their modern games without it being complete shit.

I really don't want my geography games ruined, but I am kind of curious what the tranny jannies could cook up. I'm imagining crusader kings with the ability to troon out.

I'd ask you to wait until I: R dropped their Elagabalus update, but oh... they dropped that game like a hot potato the minute they could say with a straight face it worked.

But don't worry, I'm sure they'll drop a DLC that lets you do it using an occult ritual using some virgin blood.

So i am thinking of doing Europa Universalis 3 or 4 (i may try EU4 first since it looks lkke it might have a lower learning curve maybe). I keep forgetting what they changed in 4 besides mana, idea is to to colonization but making also making the Motherland able to defend itself too if a big war was to happen, would create a custom nation so any suggestion where to i could start and other things that could help in making a custom nation?

On one hand Vicky III is getting revolutions where you actually play as a rebel army.

On the other hand, because Paradoz is gay and lame, you can only have one revolt at a time (can’t even have Red/White/Green/Black/separatist chaos in Russia).

Why bother with a custom nation? You want a colonial nation that can btfo any continental power that wants to war you? Play Eng->GBR and take all of the Americas+France+Netherlands. Play with mods and you can get missions for all of Europe, eventually. Even if you lose your war against the French, the UK has great colonial ideas and missions.

Custom ruler and spec into martial, focusing on chivalry and strategy. Get big quick enough and marry into a family that has some numbers out of Ireland (iirc Wales likes to marry out). Conquer everything south of Dublin, then work around it, taking time to rebuild your troops. For Men-At-Arms, get Light Cavalry, Armored Footmen, and Archers to begin, adding in more Light Cavalry later. This is to specifically counter against the retarded strength of Norse sitting in Dublin, they get four really good men at arms that will fuck you up, and iirc that specific build should at least minimize their effectiveness. Check mark the “go for a hunt” decision and abuse it every chance you get for more Prestige; build longhouses to help your prestige grow.

So what mods would you recommend for EU4?

Thank goodness Stellaris players are more or less normal save for the "haha exterminate the xenos" crowd who cannot play anything other than an ethnic cleanser empire

Depends on what you're looking for. The "expanded" family of mods add some good content, events, missions, etc without messing with complexity - definitely a good place to start. This is my favorite graphical mod, but that's just personal preference.

I'd recommend checking out some collections on the Steam workshop (sort by most popular last month), and seeing if anything piques your interest.

Since we're here, how is vanilla EU4 gameplay these days?

Is it better or worse than say, the time around Common Sense DLC (the one that adds development iirc)?

I reinstalled it. I played the predecessors almost to death, but couldn't get into 4 so much for some reason. I'll see.

I am mostly looking for Events and Missions (I tried the "expanded" familyof mods and last time only the advisor mod worked)
