What would happen if we gave Chris a gun, for some reason?

He'd use it once to shoot a picture of whatever person he doesn't like at the time, and be terrified by the sound and recoil and never use it again, plus he might get arrested for discharging it in the house.

A few days back I was walking and I saw a man who looks exactly like that one Chris-Chad meme.

Maybe he would take after Barb and the bullet would bounce all over, nearly hitting Cole.

People refer to Bob and Barb as being alcoholics with some regularity. The Cwcki does this in multiple places but doesn't substantiate it with anything other than 'they even met at a bar' as if that makes someone an alcoholic. I've seen the same things said here by a few different people. Are/were they really though? I haven't seen any evidence. I could picture Bob and probably Barb too doing some heavy drinking in their youths or middle age but they really don't strike me as alcoholics. Certainly not by the Chris was an adolescent, anyway. Did they ever stop completely? Am I wrong? Or is it just something people say to make them look even worse. What is the evidence of their alcoholism?

well there was one of his ancestors, I think Chris’s great grandfather on his Moms side was an alcoholic moonshiner who ´failed to provide even the most basic support for his wife and family’ Other than that there really hasn’t been any evidence anywhere of Bob and Barb even enjoying alcohol that much though Chris’s upbringing. Barb maybe but I don’t know about Bob since So much of his pre 80s life is a mystery to us. I think maybe it was just an old joke from the old more A loggy era of CWCki editor days. They tried to depict Bob and Barbara as the biggest redneck trash they could do they would joke they drink constantly for comedic effect.

I personally don’t think they did since there doesn’t seem to be a lot of evidence that points to it but who knows, maybe they were at one point but decided to stop around the time Chris was growing up. We simply can’t be sure.

This is basically what I thought. I wonder if the people I've seen here saying the same have just taken the narrative line from the Cwcki. On the other hand, if there was evidence that Borb completely gave up alcohol at some point (probably around Chris' birth or during his youth), I'd see that as evidence they are/were alcoholics. Abstaining is of course something alcoholics are supposed to do. Chris' initial hatred of alcohol could also support this. If his parents got and stayed sober during his early life they would certainly have filled him with messages on the evils of booze.

Of course it's also possible that Chris took in the general anti-alcohol messages directed at all children and ran with it, maybe as a way to virtue signal.

I think Cole has also attacked Borb for being drunks but he would have his own reasons for a-logging them and wouldn't be above resorting to exaggeration.

I think they probably did drink a lot as young adults or in middle age but were never true and honest alcoholics. I swear I've also seen references to Chris himself being one (here and on the wiki) and I reckon the same trollsome dynamic is at play there.

Anyone else getting nervous by this point, I don’t think we’ve ever been this long without any kind of knowledge about where he was or what’s up? I mean could Chris die and we not even know about it, it’s not too far fetched a theory. People go missing all the time is it possible if Chris were to kill himself in that hospital, we at not hear about it till months after it occurred? What happens to peoples obituaries if they are presumed dead yet there are no details regarding where. What time or how it happened?

I agree. The only hope I see is what will happen at the next court date will bring new news on Chris current condition and what to expect in the future. But what if nothing happens, no new updates and Chris is still locked up.

Something i was wondering but when exactly did Bob start paying the gal-pals to hang out with Chris become "friends" with the gal-pals in High School?

Part of me wonders if it was a misguided attempt at the beginning of High School to get Chris to socialize, build some confidence, and start making friends on his own, or if it was something he arranged for in Chris's senior year so his son would at least have the experience of having friends in High School. I suspect it was the former but I would not be surprised if it was the latter which would be just sad.

maybe the HS administrators suggested he become the waterboy for Bball before they arranged for the galpals

Given the timeline’s mentioning of Natasha being paid by Bob to walk Chris to the bus stop in middle school I would assume it probably happened early on in high school. With Chris being the basketball team’s water boy beginning freshman year, Bob almost certainly had to have had some involvement in at least wrangling Chris’ retardation at the school early so he wouldn’t end up the punching bag bitch boy like a nerd character in an 80’s high school flick. When parents get involved in school early on, they end up knowing kids quicker and who among them is more compatible with their own kid, or in Chris’ case “most likely to sympathize with retardation”. Regarding your point I always found it funny that Chris never brought up explicit dates when he started being “friends” with these girls simply because he’s the type to hyper focus on that.

Either that or Bob wanted Chris to do something "manly" with the boys and since Chris is inept at sports it was the waterboy. In retrospect he should have forced Chris to join an art club or computer club if they had one. Something more aligned with his interests.

Its the lack of dates, like you said, that makes me wonder when Bob made the arrangements and why I asked the question. It could have been something from the start where he knew Chris was incapable of making friends and surviving in the real world and got some girls to babysit his son throughout High School or it could have been something he came up with in Senior year when Chris still had no friends and was still being picked on. Just strange that Chris never mentioned something like this or really sad if he obsessed for ten years over people he knew for a few months.

Do you think Barb pretty much regrets giving birth to Chris now? Do you think she possible feels a sudden overwhelming sense of guilt and despair about how she’s acted throughout her life because of this. Do you think if she manages to recover and live a few more years she’d try to rectify some old relationships and just be a kind a person she can be for her last years? Is it even possible?
