I have known her since about 2009 I think. I do know she abused her son's Adderall meds for YEARS and has had mental health issues most of her life of which she was supposed to take meds. If I remember correctly, I think it was Bipolar disorder. She has ALWAYS had a very high opinion of herself. She does not keep jobs for long for whatever reason. Skip pretty much took care of all her wants and needs. She was denied custody of her first 2 boys as well as the last 2 due to her behavior.

She refuses to take meds and somehow is able to pass herself off as completely sane and normal. This is what leads me to believe that mentally, there is nothing wrong with her. She is aware of everything she says and does and thinks she has the right to tear people down at will, make death threats against them, use men until they can't take it anymore, and still play a big 'ole victim. The only thing she is a victim of is her own actions. EVERYTHING that has happened to her is a direct result of the bullshit she does. She claims this thread is full of lies yet fails to see most of what is said is either gathered from court documents or taken directly from her own videos. She is most certainly a narcissist as she believes EVERYTHING that happens in the world or with others is directly related to HER. She is incapable of love and then doesn't understand why everyone in the world doesn't worship her. She is incapable of seeing that most of what has happened to her is a direct result of her actions. She does not think consequences apply to her and she is allowed to do whatever she wants and say whatever she wants. Diane Downs comes to mind when I see or hear her. I will let you all look that up.

Then, there are times where you will see that she is almost hyperaware of her actions, kind of admits some were wrong, but still blames it on others (TX cops, Skip, Steph, the kids, Mike, etc.) because "they made me do it". She has ZERO control over her actions or maybe more so that she doesn't think she should face consequences for them. She is INANNA and therefore the rules don't apply to her.

I think there are mental health issues though I don't think they are at the level described in posts here. She is too good at "acting" normal to stay off of mental hospitals' radar. Clearly, she does have awareness of what she is doing and saying and acting. I doubt she ever really enjoyed being a mother. What she calls "love" is very one-sided. Everyone has to love HER but she does not feel that same love for others. She can't because EVERYTHING must revolve around her. If friends try to help her and point out what she is doing, she gets very angry. Not because she thinks what she is doing is wrong but because everyone is not siding with her and agreeing with all her narratives. She takes great offense to others who don't agree with or validate her stories. She is fine with dropping family or friends if they don't back up her stories.

Dana is too aware of what she says and does for me to believe that she has any more serious mental illnesses than what I have described. Of course, I am not a therapist. I have just known her for a very long time. What I see is a very evil woman who others everywhere should be warned about. I also think she absolutely is capable of killing someone. She will never be a real danger to herself because she thinks too highly of herself. The current living situation she is in now will end very badly just as all the others have. Sooner or later, she will find herself behind bars. She has already had domestic charges against her. First, she claimed that she attacked Skip because he was "fucking another woman" and later claimed it was because she wanted to leave him and told him so. She keeps changing or adding to her stories and has a hard time keeping up with her own lies.

She thinks it's horrible that her sons won't talk to her and can't make the connection between her own actions and their horror and hurt. Again, narcissism at its finest. Dana is bitter, angry, and nothing more than a drunk. She is evil.

Couldn't agree more with you, filtering through the bullshit is a must. As Shopenhauer postulated, our world can be expressed as will and representation - i.e., truth is what we believe. But this is a shared trait between all humans, not a Dana exclusive.

As I've said it before, alcohol has profound effects on the function of the prefrontal cortex - the brain region usually implicated in planning complex cognitive behavior, personality expression, decision making, and moderating social behavior, i.e., also our brain janitor that cleans up and censors most of the stuff we would rather not socially express or do to others.

All put together, yes, Dana is a huge liar with delusions of grandeur and very prone to manipulating others, but I still believe that if you're able to filter out the bullshit, drunk Dana is the most honest Dana, revealing all the mess inside her mind.

Dana is not a true schizo, her delusions derive from her low self-esteem, but she's has awareness regarding the fact it's all bullshit. The only personality trait that Dana has that can develop into a schizo-like personality is her paranoia.

Does this mean I give her a pass for neglecting and reject her children, together with other sociopathic behaviors? No, it doesn't. But healing also comes from understanding. But you can only heal those that seek it, and I agree with you on the fact that she doesn't act like she wants it.

Again, I'm partial to the concept that we're a mix of genetics and social environment. Adderall is just a synonym for meth and ADHD (clinial made up context - as Humans, we couldn't care less about we don't give a fuck about, but not all of us react to int in the same way). Adderall isn't the primary thing thing ruling over Dana's psyche. Her emotions and life experiences are. In the end, Adderall claimed its bit, but that's nothing compared with what she has experienced.

Gotcha. My daughter is the same age as Dana. When I can bring myself to feel compassion toward Dana it's over her kids. I mean my kids are my best friends, if they asked me to get help that's what I would do, no question. I can't imagine that kind of loss. But instead she talks about them with no love at all because they don't kiss her ass. I wouldn't mind being able to understand the "whys" it's just that if she's not willing to get help to overcome those things, do the reasons matter to the people who have to deal with her.
